Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a tool for operating a corrector fitted to a watch.
  • the invention relates more particularly to a tool making it possible to operate a small push button, also called a corrector, which is commonly fitted to wristwatches with large complications.
  • Some watches in particular so-called grand complication watches, offer their users such a high number of functions that it is not possible to correct them all using a single winding and correction crown. It is for this reason that such watches include additional control means such as push buttons.
  • push buttons of different types including miniature push buttons which are typically embedded in the middle of the watch and which are usually activated by means of a pointed instrument. These miniature push buttons conventionally comprise a socket driven, glued or screwed into an opening made in the middle of the watch and a cylindrical control rod capable of sliding freely in the socket.
  • the socket comprises, on the exterior side of the watch case, a first cylindrical passage adapted to the dimensions of a first portion of the control rod, and on the interior side of the watch case, a second cylindrical passage arranged in the extension of the first cylindrical passage and whose internal diameter, adapted to the dimensions of a second portion of the control rod, is less than that of the first cylindrical passage.
  • a seal housed in a groove formed on a perimeter of the first portion of the control rod makes it possible to guarantee the seal between the control rod and the socket.
  • Such a push button also includes a helical spring which compresses when the user presses the miniature push button, and whose return force returns the control rod to the rest position when the user releases pressure on the button -push.
  • Push buttons of the type described above have very small dimensions. Such push buttons therefore save space. In addition, they do not protrude from the middle and are therefore not likely to be activated unintentionally. Correction operations are carried out by pressing the control rod into the socket against the return force of the helical spring using a pointed instrument such as a pen for example. This last point poses a problem. Indeed, as mentioned above, such push-buttons are most often fitted to wristwatches with large complications. These are extremely expensive watches whose cases are very often made using precious materials. However, the risks of injuring the watch case and altering its aesthetic appearance when handling a sharp instrument are significant, which has become difficult to accept. Of course, there is always the possibility of returning the watch to the workshop so that it can be repolished, but this is not very convenient.
  • Push buttons of the type described above are also found on other small portable objects such as smartphones and their actuation is often used to reset the electronic circuits of the phone.
  • the tool described in the document US1004755 has a cap but does not have any base attached to this cap.
  • the present invention aims to remedy the aforementioned problems as well as others by providing a tool which can be used by watchmakers, but above all intended for watch wearers and which makes it possible to activate small push buttons also called correctors without the risk of damaging the middle of the watch case.
  • the tool according to the invention can also be used to activate the correctors which are fitted for example to smart phones and which are used for example to reset the electronic circuits of the phone.
  • the present invention relates to a tool for actuating a corrective push button fitted to a portable object of small dimensions, this actuation tool comprising a body which extends between a rear end which defines a gripping zone of the actuation tool, and a front end which defines an actuation zone of the actuation tool, the actuation tool also comprising an actuation rod arranged to slide coaxially therein of the body, the actuating rod being able to move back and forth and back and forth between a retracted rest position in which it is stably retracted inside the body of the tool actuation, and a working extended position in which it projects out of the cap, the actuation rod remaining in its working extended position as long as an axial thrust is exerted on it, and returning to its rest retracted position as soon as the axial thrust is canceled.
  • the cap is screwed onto the base.
  • the present invention provides a tool which makes it possible to activate push buttons of the corrector type, that is to say embedded in a middle part of a portable object such as a watch with large complications or a smartphone, without risking injury to the body of the portable object.
  • the actuation tool is in a situation in which its front end which defines an actuation portion of a corrector is set back relative to a portion end which surrounds it. Consequently, when we want to actuate a corrector by means of the actuation tool according to the invention, we approach this tool of the corrector and we apply it by its end portion against the middle of the portable object .
  • the function of guiding the tool provided by the end portion which surrounds the tool and which bears against the outer periphery of the corrector push button, is separated from the function actual actuation of the tool which is ensured by the actuation rod, which greatly facilitates the positioning and use of the actuation tool.
  • the actuation portion which constitutes the active element of the actuation tool passes from a state of rest in which it is retracted inside the actuation tool, to a state work in which it projects outside the actuation tool and allows the corrector to be actuated.
  • the cap is fixed, and the actuation rod, and therefore the actuation portion, are movable between a retracted rest position in which the actuation portion is completely surrounded by a terminal portion of the cap, and a working position in which the actuation portion projects from the cap.
  • the present invention proceeds from the general inventive idea which consists of providing an actuation tool making it possible to actuate a push button of the corrector type embedded in the middle of a watch such as a complicated wristwatch without risking damage. injure the caseband which, particularly in the case of wristwatches, is very often made of a precious material.
  • the present invention teaches the use of an actuation tool whose active portion is retracted inside the body of this actuation tool in the rest position. The actuation tool can thus be positioned opposite the correction push-button without risk of damaging the caseband of the watch.
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of a corrector type push button which can be actuated by means of an actuation tool according to the invention. It will be understood, however, that the description of such a correction push button is given for purely illustrative purposes and is in no way limiting. This is a conventional type corrective push button whose structure does not need to be modified or adapted depending on the structure of the actuation tool according to the invention. Conversely, the characteristics of the corrective push buttons do not influence the arrangement of the actuation tool according to the invention.
  • a corrector type push button conventionally comprises a socket 2 for example driven or stuck in an opening 4 made in a middle part 6 of a portable object, for example a wristwatch including the middle part is made of a precious material or a smartphone.
  • This corrective push button 1 can be actuated by the user using a pointed tool 5.
  • a cylindrical control rod 8 is able to slide in the socket 2.
  • the socket 2 comprises for this purpose a first cylindrical passage 10a which opens out on the exterior side of the middle part 6 of the portable object and which is adapted to the dimensions of a first portion 12a of the control rod 8.
  • the socket 2 On the inner side of the middle part 6, the socket 2 comprises a second cylindrical passage 10b arranged in the extension of the first cylindrical passage 10a and which defines a shoulder 11 inside the socket 2
  • the internal diameter of this second cylindrical passage 10b, adapted to the dimensions of a second portion 12b of the control rod 8, is less than that of the first cylindrical passage 10a.
  • a seal 14 housed in a groove formed on a perimeter of the first portion 12a of the control rod 8 makes it possible to guarantee the seal between the control rod 8 and the socket 2.
  • Such a push button corrector 1 also comprises a helical spring 16 which compresses when the user presses the corrector push-button 1, and whose return force returns the control rod 8 to the rest position when the user releases pressure on the button -corrector pusher 1.
  • the helical spring 16 bears against a washer 18 fixedly mounted on the first portion 12a of the control rod 8 at one end, and against the shoulder 11 at the other end.
  • Push buttons of the type described above have very small dimensions. They therefore save space. In addition, they do not protrude from the middle and are therefore not likely to be activated unintentionally. Such push buttons are frequently fitted to high-end so-called complication watches. Correction operations are carried out using a pointed instrument such as a pen for example. This last point, however, poses a problem. Indeed, complicated wristwatches are extremely expensive watches whose watch cases are very often made using precious materials. However, the risks of injuring the watch case and altering its aesthetic appearance when handling a sharp instrument are significant, which has become difficult to accept.
  • an actuation tool 46 of a corrective push button 1 fitted to a portable object of small dimensions comprises an actuation rod 48 of generally cylindrical shape which extends between a rear end 50 which defines a zone of gripping the actuation tool 46, and a front end 52 which defines an actuation zone of the actuation tool 46.
  • the actuation rod 48 At its front end, the actuation rod 48 comprises an actuation portion 54 which constitutes the active element of the actuation tool 46 via which the corrector push-button 1 is actuated.
  • the actuation tool 46 also comprises on the side of the gripping zone a base 56, and on the side of the actuation zone a cap 58 arranged in a fixed manner on the base 56, for example thanks to a thread 60.
  • the base 56 and the cap 58 form a body inside which the actuating rod 48 is arranged to slide coaxially from rear to front and from front to rear under the effect of a helical spring 62 threaded onto the actuating rod 48 and which bears against the cap 58 at a front end 52, and against a first shoulder 64 formed on the actuating rod 48 at a rear end 50.
  • the actuating rod 48 is movable between a retracted rest position ( Figure 2A ) in which it is forced towards the inside of the body of the actuating tool 46 by the helical spring 62, and a working output position ( Figure 2B ) in which it is forced outside the body of the actuating tool 46 against the elastic force of the helical spring 62.
  • a terminal portion 66 of the cap 58 completely surrounds the actuation portion 54 of the actuation rod 48 in the rest retracted position of the latter, while this actuation portion 38 projects beyond the terminal portion 66 of the cap 58 in the working extended position of the actuating rod 48.
  • the actuating portion 54 of the actuating rod 48 comes project beyond the terminal portion 66 of the cap 58 and finds itself in the working extended position, which makes it possible to actuate the corrector push button 1.
  • the actuating rod 48 moves against the elastic return force of the helical spring 62 which compresses.
  • the actuation tool 46 is released from the middle part 6 of the portable object, which allows the helical spring 62 to relax and push the cap 58 back into its rest position in which its terminal portion 66 again completely surrounds the actuation portion 54 of the actuation rod 48.
  • the actuating rod 48 comprises a first cylindrical portion 48a with a first diameter, and a second cylindrical portion 48b with a second diameter less than the first diameter.
  • the actuation portion 54 it is formed by a third cylindrical portion 48c with a third diameter less than the second diameter.
  • the first cylindrical portion 48a of the actuating rod 48 locally has a first increase in diameter 48d which is adjusted to the internal diameter of a first cylindrical housing 56a provided in the externally threaded part of the base 56. This allows the actuating rod 48 to be guided in axial sliding.
  • the first cylindrical housing 56a is extended by a second cylindrical housing 58a provided in the cap 58 in the zone where this cap 58 is screwed onto the base 56.
  • This second cylindrical housing 58a has a diameter greater than that of the first cylindrical housing 56a and is extended by a third cylindrical housing 58b whose internal diameter, less than that of the first cylindrical housing 56a, is adjusted to the external diameter of the first cylindrical portion 48a, which allows, here too, to ensure guidance axial of the actuating rod 58. It is thus understood that by joining the base 56 and the cap 58, the first cylindrical housing 56a and the second cylindrical housing 58a together form a larger cavity which is delimited by a second shoulder 68a and a third shoulder 68b separated by a distance which defines the maximum stroke of the actuating rod 48.
  • the third cylindrical portion 48c has a second increase in diameter 48e in the zone where it connects to the second cylindrical portion 48b.
  • This second increase in diameter 48e ensures the axial guidance of the helical spring 62 and delimits with the second cylindrical portion 48b the first shoulder 64 against which the helical spring 62 abuts.
