Definitions
- the invention relates to a lid for a hollow body open on one side, in which a candle is arranged, in particular a lid for a grave light.
- Grave lights usually consist of a cup (can be made of different materials) which is filled with burning mass (usually mineral or organic waxes) and has a wick attached to the center.
- a cover (often made of metal or plastic) is usually placed on top to protect against the weather and for optical reasons. Grave lights are usually burned outdoors and are fully exposed to the weather.
- lids for hollow bodies which are open at one side are known, in which a candle is arranged, the lid being a hollow body which is open at the bottom and which can be plugged or screwed onto the hollow body which is open at the top, the jacket of the lid in attached state protrudes above the jacket of the hollow body open at the top, wherein the jacket of the lid is provided with openings.
- the openings are designed as vertically running openings, which are formed by openings in the jacket of the cover, for example by punching out circular surfaces.
- the disadvantage is that precipitation can easily penetrate through such openings, which is then to be drained off between the cover and the hollow body which is open on one side.
- the hollow body, which is open on one side is usually equipped with an upwardly tapering upper end area, so that water penetrating through the lid is drained off between the lid and the tapering end area.
- the JP2014210184A discloses a cup with openings, the cup can be closed with a lid.
- the lid has no openings.
- the openings in the cup can be formed by tab formation and bending of the tabs into the cup interior.
- the DE20100017U1 shows a lid for a hollow body open on one side, the lid having vertical openings in its side wall forming the lateral surface and in its top surface, which forms the roof of the lid, may have additional openings, formed by lug formation and bending of the lugs into the cup interior.
- the DE8814266U1 shows a lid for a hollow body open on one side, the lid having vertical openings in its side wall forming the lateral surface and in its top surface, which forms the roof of the lid, may have additional openings, formed by lug formation and bending of the lugs into the cup interior.
- the US2004125598A1 shows a cover with vertical openings, which are formed by tabbing and bending the tabs into the cup interior.
- the object underlying the invention is to provide a lid which is better protected against the ingress of precipitation.
- At least one opening is formed in such a way that the jacket of the cover has a slot between two points lying on a horizontal plane and that the material of the jacket is molded below the slot into the interior of the hollow body of the lid, so that between the through the slot formed upper edge and the lower edge formed by the slot extends a substantially horizontal opening.
- the cover can preferably be made of plastic or particularly preferably of metal.
- the lid has lateral openings which are constructed in such a way that part of the side wall or the casing only inclines inwards along a horizontal slot and thus the resulting opening points upwards and is overlapped by the lid upper part.
- the openings are provided in different numbers on the side wall of the cover all around at lateral intervals and preferably in two rows. Through the openings made in this way, mainly exhaust air from the candle flame exits through the upper row, and mainly supply air enters the interior of the light through the lower row. This ensures the controlled burning of the light.
- a lid according to claim 11 is less preferred for solving the problem.
- this variant is less preferred because the resulting outward protrusions are disadvantageous in handling and packaging.
- the cover 1 has an upper cover surface 2 and a jacket 3, which extends downward from the edge of the cover surface 2, so that the cover 1 is a hollow body open on one side, as shown, preferably in the form of a hollow cylinder, that is to say with a circular shape Cover surface 2.
- This shape is particularly easy to manufacture and easy to handle.
- the hollow body can also be used as a prism with a polygon, an oval or an ellipse as the base available.
- the cover 1 could taper upwards and be present as a hollow cone or a truncated cone or a hollow pyramid or a truncated pyramid.
- an upwardly widening lid 1 is also conceivable.
- the jacket 3 of the cover 1 has indentations 4, at the upper end of which there is an approximately horizontally extending opening.
- the cover 1 preferably has vertically running channels 7, which provide a path for the water flowing off between the webs 5.
- the channels 7 can be produced by embossing.
- the webs 5 are seen in the vertical direction over the indentations 4 and thus over the approximately horizontally running openings, wherein preferably one web 5 extends over the entire length of a horizontally running opening. When viewed in the circumferential direction, the webs 5 are preferably somewhat longer than the openings.
- the top surface 2 is preferably designed to rise towards its center so that no water can collect on it. As shown, the top surface 2 can be formed by one or more annular areas, one or more frustoconical areas and an elevated central circular area 8.
- the edge of the jacket 3 can be designed to be widened, for example in that its material is folded up or out or rolled as a bead 6. This increases the stability of the cover 1 and avoids a sharp edge, which facilitates placing the cover 1 on the hollow body which is open on one side and avoids injuries, in particular on the cover 1 made of metal.
- the openings are formed in that the jacket 3 has a slot between each two points lying on a horizontal plane and that the material of the jacket 3 is molded below the slot into the interior of the hollow body of the lid 1, so that between the through the slot formed upper edge 9 and the bottom edge 10 formed by the slot extends a substantially horizontal opening.
- the upper edge 9 preferably runs horizontally.
- the upper edges 9 of successive openings of a peripheral region of the jacket 3 are preferably on one plane.
- the lower edge 10 runs along an arc from one of the two points of the slot lying on a horizontal plane away from the casing 3 first in the direction of the interior of the cover 1 and then out again in the direction of the casing 3 to the second of the two on a horizontal plane lying points of the slot.
- the edge 10 of each slot runs along an arc from one of the two points of the slot lying on a horizontal plane, first falling and then rising again to the second of the two points of the slot lying on a horizontal plane.
- a gap between the two edges 9, 10 is therefore visible.
- the lower edge 10 is the upper edge of the indentation 4, the indentation 4 preferably passing along the arch path of its lower edge 11 into the jacket 3, which, starting from one of the two points of the slot lying on a horizontal plane, first declines and then again ascending to the second of the two points of the slot lying on a horizontal plane, and the indentation 4, starting from its lower edge 11, is inclined relative to the jacket 3 into the interior of the cover 1.
- the cover 1 preferably has six openings according to the invention, which lie along a peripheral region of the casing 3. But more or less are also conceivable such openings, for example four or eight. There are preferably at least four, in particular at least 6, openings per row. With an even number of openings per row, these are preferably diametrically opposite each other.
- a second row of openings is preferably present, which is spaced vertically from the first row. More than two rows are also conceivable, two rows being considered technically advantageous due to the air circulation described at the beginning.
- the second row is preferably identical to the first row and arranged in phase with it.
- the material of the cover 1 is preferably metal, for example steel or aluminum, alternatively it can be made of heat-resistant plastic.
- a hollow cylinder which is open on one side is preferably used as the starting base, which is provided with slots by punching or cutting and is provided with the indentations 4 by plastic deformation.
- the webs 5 and channels 7, and the elevation of the top surface 2 can also be formed by plastic deformation, for example embossing.
- the top surface 2, including the webs 5, is advantageously embossed and the indentations 4 and channels 7 are formed only subsequently.
- Fig. 3 the attachment of the lid 1 on the hollow body of a grave light is illustrated.
- No special requirements are placed on the hollow body that is open on one side upwards, since the grooves 7 and / or the indentations 4 that protrude inward by stamping form a stop for the edge of the hollow body that is open on one side upwards, so that these cover 1 in fix the intended position.
- the hollow body, which is open on one side at the top can thus preferably be in the form of a hollow body, the outer circumference of which is somewhat smaller than the inner diameter of the jacket 3, or is present with an exact fit to it.
- the hollow body, which is open on one side at the top does not need to have a tapering area or a stop for the cover 1, and can therefore be produced very inexpensively.
- At least one opening could also be formed in that the jacket 3 has a slot between two points lying on a horizontal plane and in that the material of the jacket 3 above the slot is shaped outwards by the hollow body of the lid 1, so that an essentially horizontal opening extends between the upper edge 9 formed by the slot and the lower edge 10 formed by the slot.
- the lower edge 10 then preferably runs horizontally.
- the upper edge 9 then preferably runs along an arc from one of the two points of the slot lying on a horizontal plane, first rising and then descending again to the second of the two points of the slot lying on a horizontal plane.
- the upper edge 9 is then preferably the lower edge of an indentation, the indentation passing along the arch path of its upper edge into the jacket 3, which, starting from one of the two points of the slot lying on a horizontal plane, first increases and then decreases again
- the second of the two points of the slot lying on a horizontal plane runs and the bulge, starting from its upper edge, is inclined outwards relative to the jacket 3 of the cover 1.
- An opening formed according to this less preferred variant can be provided instead of one of the openings shown in the figures. All openings of this less preferred variant can be designed accordingly. There may be openings of this less preferred variant in combination with openings of the preferred variant on a cover 1.
- An indentation 4 according to the preferred variant and an indentation according to the less preferred variant can also be present together on a horizontal slot.

Description
The invention relates to a lid for a hollow body open on one side, in which a candle is arranged, in particular a lid for a grave light.
Grave lights usually consist of a cup (can be made of different materials) which is filled with burning mass (usually mineral or organic waxes) and has a wick attached to the center. A cover (often made of metal or plastic) is usually placed on top to protect against the weather and for optical reasons. Grave lights are usually burned outdoors and are fully exposed to the weather.
According to the prior art, lids for hollow bodies which are open at one side are known, in which a candle is arranged, the lid being a hollow body which is open at the bottom and which can be plugged or screwed onto the hollow body which is open at the top, the jacket of the lid in attached state protrudes above the jacket of the hollow body open at the top, wherein the jacket of the lid is provided with openings. The openings are designed as vertically running openings, which are formed by openings in the jacket of the cover, for example by punching out circular surfaces. The disadvantage is that precipitation can easily penetrate through such openings, which is then to be drained off between the cover and the hollow body which is open on one side. For this purpose, the hollow body, which is open on one side, is usually equipped with an upwardly tapering upper end area, so that water penetrating through the lid is drained off between the lid and the tapering end area.

The object underlying the invention is to provide a lid which is better protected against the ingress of precipitation.
To solve the problem, a lid according to
It is preferably proposed that at least one opening is formed in such a way that the jacket of the cover has a slot between two points lying on a horizontal plane and that the material of the jacket is molded below the slot into the interior of the hollow body of the lid, so that between the through the slot formed upper edge and the lower edge formed by the slot extends a substantially horizontal opening.
The cover can preferably be made of plastic or particularly preferably of metal. The lid has lateral openings which are constructed in such a way that part of the side wall or the casing only inclines inwards along a horizontal slot and thus the resulting opening points upwards and is overlapped by the lid upper part. Thus, on the lid Do not let rainwater run into the interior of the lid, as it drips off the top edge of the horizontal slot and is drained outwards from the side wall. Since the openings face upwards, it is difficult for wind to hit the flame directly because it is deflected and weakened by the side wall. The openings are provided in different numbers on the side wall of the cover all around at lateral intervals and preferably in two rows. Through the openings made in this way, mainly exhaust air from the candle flame exits through the upper row, and mainly supply air enters the interior of the light through the lower row. This ensures the controlled burning of the light.
A lid according to

The
At the edge of the
The
At the lower end, the edge of the

The
As shown, the
A second row of openings is preferably present, which is spaced vertically from the first row. More than two rows are also conceivable, two rows being considered technically advantageous due to the air circulation described at the beginning. The second row is preferably identical to the first row and arranged in phase with it.
The material of the
In the case of an embodiment made of metal, a hollow cylinder which is open on one side is preferably used as the starting base, which is provided with slots by punching or cutting and is provided with the

In a less preferred embodiment variant, at least one opening could also be formed in that the
