Bereits dadurch, dass gemäß dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren standardmäßig ein Vakuum in dem mit den Lebensmitteln gefüllten Gastronorm-Behälter erzeugt wird, also auch dann, wenn dies zur Verlängerung der Haltbarkeit nicht erforderlich ist, ergibt sich ein Sicherheitsvorteil. Denn wenn der Kunde weiß, dass in dem Gastronorm-Behälter bei Anlieferung in jedem Fall ein Vakuum herrschen muss, wird er skeptisch werden, wenn der charakteristische Zischlaut beim Einwirken auf das Vakuumierventil ausbleibt. Im schlimmsten Fall ist aber damit zu rechnen, dass ein gut vorbereiteter potentieller krimineller Dritter das Vakuum aufhebt, die Lebensmittel verunreinigt und anschließend wieder ein Vakuum erzeugt. Dieser Gefahr tritt die Erfindung dadurch entgegen, dass das Vakuumierventil zumindest teilweise mit einem Sicherheitsetikett überklebt wird, das ganz oder teilweise nicht zerstörungsfrei lösbar ist. Derartige Sicherheitsetiketten werden zwar in vielen Fällen bereits standardmäßig genutzt, die naheliegende Verwendung eines solchen Sicherheitsetiketts im Falle eines durch einen Deckel verschlossenen Behälters besteht aber darin, auf zwei gegenüberliegenden Seiten des Behälters ein Sicherheitsetikett über den Deckel und die entsprechende Seitenwand des Behälters zu kleben, um einen eventuellen Versuch, den Deckel zu öffnen, erkennbar zu machen. Die der Erfindung zugrundeliegende Idee, ein Sicherheitsetikett ganz oder teilweise über das Vakuumierventil zu kleben, bietet neben der durch die genannte naheliegende Lösung bereits erhöhten Sicherheit noch weitere Vorteile im Hinblick auf die Sicherheit, und auch im Hinblick auf die Wirtschaftlichkeit. Denn bei der erwähnten naheliegenden Lösung unter Einsatz von zwei Sicherheitsetiketten ist es theoretisch immer noch denkbar, dass die Verunreinigung der Lebensmittel mit über das Vakuumierventil zugeführten Substanzen erfolgt und dass anschließend wieder ein Vakuum in dem Gastronorm-Behälter erzeugt wird. Ein solcher Fall wäre von dem Kunden nicht zu erkennen, wird aber durch die erfindungsgemäße Lösung erkennbar gemacht. Was die Wirtschaftlichkeit angeht, so bietet die Erfindung den Vorteil, dass die Verwendung von nur einem Sicherheitsetikett ausreicht, um den größtmöglichen Schutz zu bieten.
