Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for disposing of used chewing gum, comprising a body with a front for receiving the used chewing gum, and a container for collecting and temporarily storing the used chewing gum, which is arranged below the body or integrated into the bottom thereof, the Front is provided with a layer.
  • a common nuisance in public places is the behavior of many chewing gum users to dispose of their used chewing gum on the spot, i.e. H. wherever they are, to spit or throw on the floor or to stick to walls, benches, doors, lanterns and the like. Regardless of whether the chewing gum is openly visible or perhaps because of a certain sense of shame, hidden and improperly disposed of, this is always unattractive and unsanitary.
  • trash cans like other public facilities, are often damaged by vandalism and, in extreme cases, become unusable.
  • the US 2011/0036835 A1 discloses a device for disposal of chewing gum and other waste with a housing, a removable container, mounting options for a source of a resilient material, such as a paper towel dispenser, and an opening in an upper side of the housing, which is covered by a star-shaped rubber, for the insertion of objects to be disposed of ,
  • the present invention presents a device according to claim 1, comprising a body with a vertically aligned and flat front for receiving the chewing gum, one arranged below or below the body or in a lower area integrated container for collecting the used chewing gum and a layer that covers and covers the front of the body.
  • the device according to the invention corresponds to one known from the prior art. It is, however, characteristic of the chewing gum disposal device according to the invention that the front side has an opening which is at least partially covered by the layer, and through which used chewing gum is introduced into the interior of the body where they fall further down into the (collecting) container due to gravity.
  • the body is a housing made up of a front, side and cover surface, which can optionally also include a rear wall and a bottom surface.
  • the shape and design of the surfaces is of secondary importance in the context of the invention. Fancy geometric structures can be used as well as simple, flat rectangular or geometrically separable surfaces into a small number of triangles and / or rectangles.
  • material and connection from the surfaces are more important for the fulfillment of their purpose.
  • the aim is to maintain a stable, robust body that can withstand both years of use and vandalism.
  • Metallic materials especially steel (sheet metal) or solid plastics, are suitable for this.
  • Metal has the advantage of being easier to repair on site.
  • a metal-plastic composite is also conceivable.
  • the side surfaces are connected by welding, screwing, gluing, riveting or other types of connection familiar to the person skilled in the art. It is also conceivable to manufacture the body or several of its surfaces from one piece by casting or deep-drawing a blank.
  • the shape of the opening in the front of the body is largely arbitrary. However, it must be of sufficient size to be able to easily transport a used chewing gum through it.
  • the opening is partially or completely covered by the flexible layer.
  • the flexible layer serves to effectively prevent used chewing gum from sticking to the front of the body itself, so that the chewing gum always comes into the interior of the body and further down into the collecting container reach.
  • the layer ideally exhibits reduced adhesion for used chewing gum.
  • edges of the opening and the inside of the body could also have a non-stick coating in order to prevent the used chewing gum, which may be introduced with great momentum through the opening in the front stick to the inside of the body.
  • the (collecting) container is a vessel with at least one side and one bottom surface.
  • a lid surface that closes off at the top with the exception of the chewing gum inlets.
  • it can either be integrated into the lower part of the body, in which there is, for example, an insertion opening in the body of the front of the body, through which an upwardly open container can be inserted, or the container is designed as a separate unit, which is on the underside of the body is arranged.
  • the container can be attached to the wall independently of the body, or there is a slide-in frame which is attached to the wall independently of the body and into which the container can be inserted. Concrete designs and implementations of the described arrangements are readily known to the person skilled in the art.
  • the device according to the invention is used as follows: If appropriate, the device according to the invention is first prepared for the intended use by pushing the (collecting) container into its intended holder and providing the front of the body with a layer or coating according to the invention.
  • This can be, for example, in the form of a film, a (coated) paper or a textile fabric which is attached to the front of the body, for example by tacking, gluing or pushing into a holder provided for this purpose.
  • the chewing gum disposal device according to the invention thus prepared is used in that a used chewing gum is pressed onto the part of the layer located above the opening in the front which yields and opens the way into the interior of the body. The chewing gum is then released by the user and, due to the force of gravity, falls downward through the interior of the body through the opening in the top of the container into the interior of the collecting container, where it remains for further storage until final disposal.
  • the opening in the top of the container can be closed by a spring-loaded flap, which is opened by the force of a chewing gum falling down and striking the flap.
  • a flap enables an opaque closure of the collecting container and thus an intermediate storage of used chewing gum which is almost isolated from the environment.
  • the main advantage of the improved chewing gum disposal device according to the present invention is that, in contrast to devices known in the prior art, a great advance in the aesthetics and, above all, hygiene of the disposal device has been achieved by temporarily storing the used chewing gum inside a collecting container which cannot be seen from the outside. Any bacteria or other microorganisms that thrive on the chewing gum are thus isolated from subsequent users, and attracting other small organisms and vermin is minimized or even prevented.
  • a further advantage of the solution according to the invention is a reduction in disgust or overcoming by potential users. In the case of devices known from the prior art, this may be an important reason why they received little or no response. Because when used chewing gum is visibly stored temporarily on the outside or front of such disposal devices, it is reduced the willingness of subsequent chewing gum users to use the facility as well.
  • the present invention not only has practical advantages in terms of hygiene and aesthetics, but can also contribute to a higher acceptance and usage rate of chewing gum disposal device and thus to an environment generally free of used chewing gum.
  • the front of the body preferably has more than just one chewing gum disposal opening into the interior of the body.
  • two, or even better, a plurality of openings should be provided. These can be arranged at random and can be of different sizes. In a preferred embodiment, however, these openings are all essentially of the same size and shape, and are arranged approximately in a grid pattern over the front.
  • the openings in the front of the body are preferably circular and have a diameter between 1 and 3 cm, particularly preferably between 1.5 and 2 cm.
  • the front, but in particular the inner edges of the openings and the front inside of the body are preferably provided with a firmly applied adhesion-reducing coating, so that chewing gums do not stick there, but reliably, as provided by the present invention, fall further down into the collecting container.
  • the front preferably comprises a flat plate into which one or all of the openings for inserting the chewing gum are made are.
  • the front is designed as a sideways opening door or an upward or downward opening flap, which is particularly preferably lockable.
  • the front as a whole is essentially vertical and flat.
  • the collecting container arranged below the body or integrated in the lower part of the body is open at the top; H. the opening of the top largely takes up the entire area of the top.
  • a flap in particular a spring-loaded flap.
  • the lightest possible flap and weak spring should be used, so that the impulse of a chewing gum of normal size falling down is sufficient to open the flap.
  • a quick drying of the chewing gum stored in the container is very beneficial for hygiene. It is therefore proposed to provide ventilation options. If possible, these should only let air through, but not small and microorganisms. This can be achieved, for example, by designing a partial area of one or more side surfaces or the base surface as a fine-mesh wire mesh. Alternatively or additionally, a grid of fine bores can also be present.
  • the inside of the container can have an anti-stick coating and / or can be filled with a granular material, for example sand.
  • a granular material for example sand.
  • the granular material has moisture-binding properties, such as sawdust, talcum powder or magnesia.
  • the shape of the container like that of the body, with the exception of the front, is essentially arbitrary in the context of the present invention. So z. B. to draw greater attention to the chewing gum disposal device, unusual shapes and interesting designs are used. However, it is proposed that a simple shape, for example a cuboid or cuboid shape, be used for the collection container in order not to undermine the greatest possible use of the device according to the invention by means of complex production and thus high production costs.
  • the collecting container is, moreover, preferably designed to be removable from the body or, if it is attached separately, from a holder and is also designed to be lockable.
  • the container is preferably designed so that it protrudes from the front of the body and also from there has an upward opening, which can also be closed with a flap.
  • the flexible layer or coating according to the invention on the front of the body is designed to be exchangeable in any case, but preferably has additional non-stick properties compared to used chewing gum, so that these do not get stuck or stick to the layer.
  • the layer can consist of paper, in particular coated paper, foil or a textile fabric. It is also conceivable to use a composite, for example a multilayer composite, of these materials.
  • the layer can consist of a coherent piece. However, it is also conceivable that it is composed of subareas which are only loosely connected or not connected to one another. When used in this form, such partial areas together with the chewing gum would be pressed inward through the opening and the chewing gum would fall down together with this into the collecting container. As a result, the chewing gum is stored in an even more hygienic manner.
  • each of the openings in the front of the body is assigned such a partial area of the layer.
  • Such a subdivision can be realized, for example, when using paper, a film or a textile fabric equipped with predetermined breaking lines in the form of perforations.
  • predetermined breaking lines in the area of the opening can completely enclose and be executed.
  • the predetermined breaking lines do not completely enclose the openings but only partially.
  • the chewing gum when the chewing gum is pressed on, only one type of door or flap in the flexible layer is opened, through which the chewing gum can be pushed through the opening into the interior of the body. After this process, this flap goes back more or less to the starting position and closes the opening again in an aesthetic and hygienic manner.
  • the flexible layer is preferably exchangeable or exchangeable. This becomes solvable through implementation attached paper, foil or textile fabric.
  • the attachment can be done in many ways. This includes tacking, gluing, screwing and / or pinning. Two or more spring clips can also be provided.
  • the flexible layer is particularly preferably fastened by being pushed into a holder which is present at the edge of the front. This can be configured, for example, as a doubling of the front material.
  • the flexible layer preferably has a graphic design that attracts attention and is appealing to the target group of chewing gum users to be addressed. For this purpose, it can be printed or painted with various motifs. Furthermore, it is proposed to print information regarding correct use in order to avoid misuse. Such notices can also be attached, alone or in conjunction with the notices on the flexible layer, elsewhere on the front or the outer surface of the body. In connection with a large number of openings in the front of the body, preferably one motif per opening of the front or per partial area, this is achieved by a particularly interesting and stimulating design of the chewing gum disposal device according to the invention.
  • Figure 1 shows a preferred embodiment of the chewing gum disposal device according to the invention in a perspective view. It has a body 11 with a front side 12 in the form of a flat plate, into which a plurality of round, equally sized openings 10 are made and largely distributed in a grid pattern. The layer covering the front is not shown here.
  • Collection container 13 is integrated in the lower part of body 11. It consists of an essentially cuboid-shaped insertion compartment, which can be inserted into a complementary insertion opening in the lower part of the body 11 and locked there. The container 13 is open at the top and stands on the front beyond the front 12 of the body, in order to also be able to collect chewing gum that adheres to the front and falls from there.
  • the top of the body is closed by an oblique cover plate 111 with the above rain protection 1110.
  • the rain protection protrudes beyond the front 12 at least as far as the container 13, so that its opening 16 located outside the body 11 and in front of the front 12 is protected against the ingress of rain.
  • the body 11 with the container 12 is attached to a wall. It is also possible to either hang the body on a post or to put it on top of a post.
  • a free-standing attachment has the advantage of a further increased visibility of the chewing gum device according to the invention, so that the frequency of use tends to increase.
  • Figure 2 shows a front view of the embodiment in two partial figures Figure 1 once with (partial figure A) and once without the flexible layer according to the invention (partial figure B).
  • the flexible layer 14 is printed with colorful motifs that appeal to children and / or young people. It has circular areas 141 surrounded by predetermined breaking points, each area 141 being assigned to an opening 10 on the front side 12 of the body 11. Some of the areas are visibly pressed into the openings 10 'behind you after use.
  • This paper is fastened by being inserted from above into a double-sided doubling 17 of the front side 12 serving as a holder.
  • the front designed as a flap must first be opened in order to make the space created by the doubling accessible.
  • This embodiment of the flexible layer 14 according to the invention has the advantage that it can be changed easily and simply in the course of cleaning or emptying the chewing gum disposal device according to the invention. This also advantageously makes it possible to adapt to the desired target group by simply changing the motifs printed on layer 14.
