Definitions
- the invention relates to a brush unit for a brush roller for a centrifugal blasting machine with the features of the preamble of claims 1 and 4.
- Such a brush unit is needed in particular in a roller conveyor blast machine in which steel sheets, steel profiles or other workpieces are treated in continuous operation.
- a roller conveyor blasting machine is in each case in the DE 92 04 253 U1 and the DE 1 652 255 A described.
- smooth and profiled surfaces can be automatically deburred, descaled or de-rusted.
- the blasting agent remains after treatment on the run over the roller conveyor through the blasting chamber workpiece and must be removed from it before it leaves the chamber.
- At least one brush unit is needed, which is mounted on a driven brush roller.
- the brush unit is subjected to high loads because the blasting abrasive is abrasive and because a firm contact of the bristles with the surface of the workpiece is required to achieve the desired cleaning effect. Accordingly, the bristles of the brush units wear with increasing duration of use, so that a regular replacement of the brush units is required.
- the brush is to be considered that within the blasting chamber very cramped space exist and that a further opening of the blasting chamber z. B. by removing trim parts and removal of other units for time and cost reasons is not possible.
- the installer must therefore crawl into the blasting chamber contaminated with blasting agent, there remove the brush units from the brush shaft and then mount new brush units.
- the brush elements are divided into at least two halves, which are bolted together and / or with the shaft. Under the described confined working conditions in dusty environment, the installer must solve the glands, which may also be trapped by penetrated abrasive. To mount a new brush unit, it is then necessary to place the two halves, including the carrier shaft to each other and restore the fittings. Given the length and weight of a single brush unit, positioning, holding and bolting can not be done by a single installer. Despite the already cramped space is therefore usually a second person necessary.
- a brush roller in which a roller body is formed of a plurality of segments. Profiles are provided on the outer circumference in order to be able to receive brush strips in a form-fitting manner. For assembly and disassembly screw connections must be made or solved again. In addition, the segments are solid and therefore very heavy.
- the DE 20 2004 021 149 U1 discloses a brush roller having a brush body on the outer periphery of which the brush strips are fastened via a keder connection. Multiple brush body segments can be slid onto a common shaft around the brush body train. However, a change of the brush body is possible only after removal of the complete brush roller, because they can only be removed from the shaft. For the above-described use in confined spaces, the brush roller is therefore also not suitable.
- the object of the present invention is to facilitate the assembly and disassembly of a brush unit on a brush roller for a centrifugal blasting machine clearly.
- a respective connector is provided, which is produced by means of pin or rod elements, which are aligned parallel to the central axis of the brush unit or the carrier shaft. These engage in connecting elements that bridge the separation point.
- the pin elements are simply formed as a projection on the receiving profiles of the brush strip elements, to which also the bristles of the brush strip elements are anchored.
- the recording profiles of the brush strip elements are therefore chosen slightly longer than corresponds to the distance between the outwardly facing end faces of the carrier rings.
- the connecting element is attached, which bridges the separation point.
- the pin elements or the projections of the receiving profiles of the brush strips engage in a common connecting element which is inserted between two adjacent support rings.
- the connecting elements preferably cover only a smaller sector on the carrier ring, so that although a plurality of pin elements can be set for a secure connection, but that between two adjacent carrier rings also remains a gap outside of the connecting elements.
- the gap can be used to separate brush units from each other. In this case, the pins are pulled out of the connecting elements, and the brush unit can be disassembled again. Since only axial movement of the pin members is required for assembly and disassembly, disassembly can be easily performed even with stuck pins via an expeller and a hammer.
- a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention provides a specially designed unit of carrier shaft and at least one brush unit according to the invention, in which each half of the brush unit can be snapped onto the carrier shaft and held above it on the carrier shaft until the other half is attached. Only then is the final connection established via the pin elements and the connecting elements.
- the carrier ring segments are preferably on the outer surface of the carrier shaft at opposite diameter positions in each case two Round profiles welded in axial extension next to each other.
- each locking recesses are formed very close to the separation point, so that when placing one half of the brush unit slide the carrier rings with their recesses on one of the welded profile bars and engage behind it.
- the carrier ring segments are preferably made of plastic, which also significantly reduces the weight of the brush unit.
- at least one relief slot is provided with an undercut on the inner circumference, to facilitate the spreading of the carrier ring segment at the moment of detent.
- a further solution according to the invention is provided by a brush unit with the features of claim 4, in which no snap-in connections are used and also no direct connection between the complementary carrier ring segments is made, but in the rods with preferably round cross-section through the carrier ring segments and through with the carrier wave connected recordings are plugged.
- FIG. 1 shows a brush roller 100, in which a total of four brush units 10 are positioned side by side on a support shaft 40.
- Each brush unit 10 comprises two carrier rings 11, which are arranged at a distance from each other. Between the carrier rings 11 extend a plurality of brush strip elements 20, of which only one is shown.
- Each brush strip element 20 has a receiving profile 21 with a kederförmigen thickening and a plurality of bristles 22 which are anchored in the receiving profile 21.
- the support rings 11 have on their outer circumference a plurality of recesses 14, in which the receiving profiles 21 of the brush strip elements 20 are used. Between the support rings 11 adjacent brush units 10 connecting elements 30 are inserted.
- Each carrier ring 11 is divided into two carrier ring segments 12.
- a pair of two adjacent round profiles 42 is applied on the outer jacket 41 of the carrier shaft 40.
- a similar pair is attached to the non-visible back.
- the carrier ring segments 12 can be successively snapped onto the outer shell 41.
- the brush units 10 are prepared so far for mounting, so that all the recesses 14 in the carrier ring segments 12 are already provided with brush strip elements 20.
- each brush unit 10 can be separated via the separation of the carrier rings 11 into two half-shell-shaped parts.
- a respective end ring 50 is mounted, which covers the recesses 14 and thus secures the axial position of the receiving profiles 21.
- FIG. 2 the left end of the support shaft 40 is shown enlarged with the local brush unit 10.
- the formation of the carrier ring segments 12 is clearly visible. These have on the outer circumference keyhole-shaped recesses 14 and on the inner circumference to the separation point T out in each case a latching recess 15 for connection to the profile bars 42 on the outer jacket 41 of the support shaft 40th
- the receiving profile 21, in which the bristles 22 are anchored projects, each with a projection 23, over the end faces of the carrier rings 11.
- a part of the receiving profile 21 is projected with projection 23 so that the supernatant 23 can be seen; this engages approximately to half the width in the recess of the connecting element 30 a.
- a projection 23 can then also engage, so that two adjacent carrier rings 11 are secured by a common connecting element 30.
- FIG. 3 shows a cross section through the brush shaft 100 in the region of two connecting elements 30, wherein in particular the position of the two adjacent profile bars 42 and the recesses 15 can be seen.
- FIG. 4 shows a carrier ring segment 12 in a perspective view. It is an arcuate body, in particular made of plastic. This extends over an arc angle of 180 °. On the outer circumference a plurality of similar recesses 14 for receiving the receiving profile 21 of the brush strip elements 20 are formed. On the inner circumference locking recesses 15 are provided for locking onto the shaft 40, and a relief groove 13 to increase the deformability during snapping.
- connection element 30 In FIG. 5 a single connection element 30 is shown in perspective. It covers a much smaller circular arc, since it is only the separation point T between two indicated by the dashed line Carrier ring segments 12 must bridge. It has on the outer circumference recesses 31 which are congruent with the recesses 14 of the carrier ring segment 12 in terms of shape and arrangement. In the illustrated embodiment, a total of four recesses 31 are provided for connection, so two for each end of the carrier ring segment 12th
- FIG. 6 shows a second embodiment of a brush roller 100 ', in which a connection of the brush units 10' can be made via axially insertable rods 23 '.
- the brush units 10 ' here too have at least two carrier ring segments 12', which on their outer circumference have the same keyhole-shaped recesses for receiving brush strips as in the previously described first embodiment of the brush roller 100.
- the brush units 10 ' can thus be divided in half. For mounting, they are placed on the top of the support shaft 40 'and secured by two inserted rods 23', which extend both through the recesses in the support rings 11 'as well as through the recesses in the receiving rings 30'. After the plug-in assembly of the first half of the brush unit 10 ', the support shaft 40' can be rotated by 180 °, the previously mounted half now on the rods 23 'hangs. The second half of the brush unit 10 'is mounted in the same way. Finally, a respective end ring 50 'is attached to each end face of the carrier shaft 40'. The rods 23 'are axially fixed between the double ended end rings 50'.

Description
The invention relates to a brush unit for a brush roller for a centrifugal blasting machine with the features of the preamble of claims 1 and 4.
For this purpose, at least one brush unit is needed, which is mounted on a driven brush roller. The brush unit is subjected to high loads because the blasting abrasive is abrasive and because a firm contact of the bristles with the surface of the workpiece is required to achieve the desired cleaning effect. Accordingly, the bristles of the brush units wear with increasing duration of use, so that a regular replacement of the brush units is required. When changing the brush is to be considered that within the blasting chamber very cramped space exist and that a further opening of the blasting chamber z. B. by removing trim parts and removal of other units for time and cost reasons is not possible. The installer must therefore crawl into the blasting chamber contaminated with blasting agent, there remove the brush units from the brush shaft and then mount new brush units. In order to remove and assemble the brush units, but without having to remove the complete brush shaft, the brush elements are divided into at least two halves, which are bolted together and / or with the shaft.

The object of the present invention is to facilitate the assembly and disassembly of a brush unit on a brush roller for a centrifugal blasting machine clearly.
This object is achieved by a brush unit with the features of claim 1.
Instead of the difficult under the given circumstances screwing between the parts of the brush unit according to the invention a respective connector is provided, which is produced by means of pin or rod elements, which are aligned parallel to the central axis of the brush unit or the carrier shaft. These engage in connecting elements that bridge the separation point.
In a division of the carrier rings in two carrier ring segments and thus a division of the brush unit in two half-shells, two connecting elements are required. It is also possible a division z. B. in three or four carrier ring segments.
Preferably, the pin elements are simply formed as a projection on the receiving profiles of the brush strip elements, to which also the bristles of the brush strip elements are anchored. The recording profiles of the brush strip elements are therefore chosen slightly longer than corresponds to the distance between the outwardly facing end faces of the carrier rings. About these projections, the connecting element is attached, which bridges the separation point.
If a plurality of brush units are mounted side by side on a support shaft in order to obtain a larger working width, the pin elements or the projections of the receiving profiles of the brush strips engage in a common connecting element which is inserted between two adjacent support rings.
The connecting elements preferably cover only a smaller sector on the carrier ring, so that although a plurality of pin elements can be set for a secure connection, but that between two adjacent carrier rings also remains a gap outside of the connecting elements. The gap can be used to separate brush units from each other. In this case, the pins are pulled out of the connecting elements, and the brush unit can be disassembled again. Since only axial movement of the pin members is required for assembly and disassembly, disassembly can be easily performed even with stuck pins via an expeller and a hammer.
Even the above-described basic form of a brush unit according to the invention thus has the advantage of facilitated assembly and disassembly, but sometimes an auxiliary person is still required to position the at least two individual parts of the brush unit and hold until the pins are inserted into the connecting elements.
Therefore, a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention provides a specially designed unit of carrier shaft and at least one brush unit according to the invention, in which each half of the brush unit can be snapped onto the carrier shaft and held above it on the carrier shaft until the other half is attached. Only then is the final connection established via the pin elements and the connecting elements.
For latching the carrier ring segments are preferably on the outer surface of the carrier shaft at opposite diameter positions in each case two Round profiles welded in axial extension next to each other. At the carrier segments each locking recesses are formed very close to the separation point, so that when placing one half of the brush unit slide the carrier rings with their recesses on one of the welded profile bars and engage behind it.
In order to facilitate the deformation and thus the locking, the carrier ring segments are preferably made of plastic, which also significantly reduces the weight of the brush unit. In addition, at least one relief slot is provided with an undercut on the inner circumference, to facilitate the spreading of the carrier ring segment at the moment of detent.
A further solution according to the invention is provided by a brush unit with the features of claim 4, in which no snap-in connections are used and also no direct connection between the complementary carrier ring segments is made, but in the rods with preferably round cross-section through the carrier ring segments and through with the carrier wave connected recordings are plugged.
