Definitions
- the invention relates to a prefabricated cable which comprises a plug-in coupling element or a plug connector and is suitable in particular for the transmission of signals, according to claim 1.
- the cables in question are used for example in motor vehicles or aircraft and are usually needed in large quantities. For cost-effective provision of appropriate cables a simple structure and ease of assembly are of great importance. Such cables must be made so that they can be transmitted with these signals at a high data rate, as required for example for a high-quality video signal transmission. In addition, such cables must be made robust, in particular, the plug-in coupling element must be attached to the head with a defined minimum withdrawal force.
- a cable which is intended to ensure a stable and tension-resistant connection between a plug connector and a line, wherein the connection should optimally be electrically adapted as far as possible over its entire extent in the cable longitudinal direction.
- the corresponding cable has a sleeve which has a constriction in the region of the wires of the cable.
- the invention has for its object to provide a cable which is robust and yet manufacturable with relatively little manufacturing effort.
- the cable has a plug-in coupling element which comprises an inner conductor, an insulation, a screen, a sleeve, a jacket and a support sleeve.
- the insulation is arranged radially outside with respect to the inner conductor and thus encloses this.
- the screen is arranged radially outside with respect to the insulation.
- the support sleeve has a plurality of webs extending in a direction with axial component.
- the sleeve has a first portion, a second portion and a third portion, wherein the first and the second portion are arranged radially outwardly relative to the support sleeve.
- the second section has a radial constriction, so that the sleeve has a narrowed inner cross section in this section.
- the sleeve is designed such that its inner cross-section in the second section is minimal.
- the sleeve encloses the webs of the support sleeve in the second section.
- the sleeve surrounds the jacket in the third section.
- the cable is configured such that the second portion is disposed in the axial direction (with respect to the axial direction) between the first portion and the third portion.
- the term "enclose” is understood in the following to mean an arrangement in which one component of the cable surrounds another, ie is arranged radially outward with respect to the one component or is arranged radially outside of the one component.
- one component can touch or contact the other or one or more intermediate elements can be provided between the relevant components.
- the support sleeve has a plurality of webs extending in a direction with axial component.
- these are elements which are arranged or formed with an axial direction component cantilevered on the support sleeve.
- the axial direction is to be understood as meaning a direction along the longitudinal axis of the plug-in coupling element; in particular, the plug-in coupling element is to be actuated in this direction during proper operation. Consequently, an electrical contact of the plug-in coupling element with a corresponding counterpart can be made or interrupted by pushing or pulling in the direction parallel to the axis.
- the invention relates to cables which have an inner conductor or a plurality of wires insulated from each other electrically.
- the support sleeve is made of a rolled sheet, in particular as an open crimp barrel.
- the cable is designed so that the sleeve is made of a first material and the support sleeve made of a second material, which differs from the first material.
- both materials are metallic materials.
- the first material has a lower modulus of elasticity than the second material.
- the support sleeve on at least three webs extending in a direction with axial component.
- the invention can be applied to miniaturized dimensioned cables whose support sleeve has a maximum diameter of less than 50 mm, in particular less than 10 mm, in particular less than 8 mm.
- the cable is made so that the radial constriction is configured circumferentially.
- the radial constriction has a substantially V-shaped longitudinal section geometry. This consideration relates in particular to a cut surface longitudinally through the sleeve.
- the webs of the support sleeve are each arranged at the same angular offset along the circumference of the support sleeve, in particular, then the angle offset between two adjacent webs 360 / n, where n is the number of webs and the respective angular offset between the centers of the respective webs is determined. Accordingly, the webs of the support sleeve are advantageously arranged along the circumference at the same distance.
- the sleeve in particular in the second section, designed such that the inside has a first conical surface, which is supported against the webs.
- the sleeve is designed such that its inner side has a second conical surface, which is supported against the mantle.
- the screen is folded over and the support sleeve is arranged radially between two layers of the screen.
- the sleeve encloses the two layers of the screen in the first section or the first section is arranged radially outwardly relative to the two layers of the screen.
- the screen may have a multilayer structure, for example of a foil and a wire mesh. In this case, only one layer can be handled, for example, the wire mesh.
- FIG. 1 a cable for transmitting signals is shown, in particular for installation in a vehicle.
- the signals for example, video images can be passed from a camera to an on-board computer.
- the cable can be releasably connected by a plug-in coupling element at its end with a corresponding counterpart of another component, such as an element of a board electronics in the sense of a plug connection.
- a plug-in coupling element As an outer conductor of the plug-in coupling element is used in the illustrated embodiment, a one-piece sleeve 4, as in the FIG. 1 represented, which is mechanically and electrically connected to a line.
- the sleeve 4 has a longitudinal axis A extending along an axial direction x.
- the invention is particularly advantageous for cables with a very small outer diameter.
- the line has an outer diameter of 3.3 mm.
- FIG. 2 is a partial longitudinal section through the cable according to the FIG. 1 shown. Accordingly, the cable in the presented embodiment, an inner conductor 1, which consists for example of a plurality of individual wires, on. Radially outside the inner conductor 1, a hollow cylindrical insulating layer 2 is arranged.
- the cable in particular the line, comprises a screen 3, which here comprises a wire mesh 3.1 and a foil 3.2 and which surrounds the insulating layer 2.
- a screen 3 Radially outside the screen 3 is an insulating jacket 5 which surrounds the screen 3 over the greatest length of the cable.
- such a line is first provided.
- the pipe is cut to length and the jacket 5 is removed at the end of the pipe. This step is carried out so that the screen 3 is then exposed at the relevant end of the line.
- the support sleeve 6 can be configured as an open or closed sleeve, in particular as an open or closed crimp sleeve according to the definition according to DIN EN 60352-2.
- the support sleeve 6 is shown after processing, but for the sake of clarity without the other components of the cable.
- the support sleeve 6 is made of a rolled sheet and thus designed in an open design.
- a material for the support sleeve 6 for example, a stainless steel can be used with an E-modulus of 200 GPa.
- the support sleeve 6 is made of an electrically conductive material.
- the support sleeve 6 After pressing, the support sleeve 6 has a substantially hollow-cylindrical section 6.1 and three webs 6.2. In the illustrated embodiment, the webs 6.2 are formed on the hollow cylindrical section 6.1.
- the support sleeve 6 After the support sleeve 6 has been placed around the screen 3, the support sleeve 6 is pressed or crimped, so that the support sleeve 6 is fixed radially outside of the exposed screen 3 on the screen 3, in particular on the wire mesh 3.1.
- the outer diameter of the support sleeve 6 is here only 3 mm.
- the film 3.2 is not handled.
- the support sleeve 6 is then arranged within an axial section, that extends along the longitudinal axis A, between a first layer and a second layer of the wire mesh 3.1.
- the first layer of the wire mesh 3.1 is arranged relative to the second layer of the wire mesh 3.1 radially further inward.
- a contact not shown in the figures is attached.
- a contact is made at the stripped end of the inner conductor 1 fixed, here by a crimping process.
- the contact in a dielectric, ie electrically insulating, contact carrier 7 ( FIG. 1 ) used.
- the sleeve 4 is placed around the second layer of the wire mesh 3.1.
- the sleeve 4 can also be designed as an open or closed crimp barrel, in particular according to the definition according to DIN EN 60352-2.
- the sleeve 4 is open and made of electrically conductive material, here spring bronze with an E-modulus of 115 GPa.
- the sleeve 4 is crimped or crimped, so that the sleeve 4 is fixed to the screen 3.
- the withdrawal force can be increased.
- a higher Torsionsbe tapeberry the cable can be achieved in the joint area.
- the cable is now designed so that the sleeve 4 has a first section 4.1, a second section 4.2, a third section 4.3 and a fourth section 4.4, wherein the sections are aligned in the axial direction x.
- the second section 4.2 is arranged in the axial direction x between the first section 4.1 and the third section 4.3.
- the first section 4.1 and the second section 4.2 enclose the support sleeve 6 or are arranged radially further outward with respect to the support sleeve 6.
- the second section 4.2 has a radial circumferential narrowing, which was produced by the pressing or crimping.
- the radial narrowing has, such as from the FIG. 2 can be seen (upper or lower cutting surface longitudinally through the sleeve 4), a substantially V-shaped longitudinal section geometry.
- This second section 4.2 of the sleeve 4 encloses the webs 6.2, which extend in a direction which has a component in the axial direction x.
- the second section 4.2 is designed such that the inside of a conical Has surface, which is supported against the webs 6.2.
- the webs 6.2 are bent radially inwardly and have an obliquely radially inwardly oriented course, so that the webs are pressed 6.2 in the wire mesh 3.1. Accordingly, the webs 6.2 are under mechanical prestress on the screen 3, in particular on the wire mesh 3.1.
- the third section 4.3 is that axial region of the sleeve 4, which encloses the jacket 5. Due to the constriction, the sleeve 4 is supported in the axial direction x against the jacket 5 in a form-fitting manner.
- the cable can also be configured such that the screen 3 or the wire mesh 3.1 is not folded over and in particular the sleeve 4 then not only encloses the support sleeve 6 in the first section 4.1, but also touches it directly.
- the invention makes it possible to produce a cable which, in spite of its comparatively small diameter, has, among other things, high pull-off values, ie high forces required to release the connection between the line and the sleeve 4.
Abstract
