Definitions
- the present invention relates to a luminous and audible signaling device, for example of the luminous buzzer type, intended in particular for use in control systems for industrial automation or building automation.
- lights or illuminated pushbuttons which additionally have the possibility of emitting a sound. They are called for example buzzer light or sound light. They comprise a body surmounted by a generally circular head carrying the light and sound elements and they can be mounted on cabinet panels or human-machine dialogue desks, through for example a standardized opening of diameter 22 mm.
- the light portion generally comprises one or more light sources, preferably composed of LEDs (light-emitting diode) which are mounted on a support, for example of the printed circuit type.
- the light is then diffused outside through an outer wall of the indicator light / button, this wall being at least partially translucent.
- the sound part generally comprises a vibrating generator, for example of the piezoelectric type.
- the vibrating generator is able to deform under the action of an AC voltage so as to generate a vibration which generates a sound.
- the vibrating generator is attached to the outer wall of the indicator / knob, so that the vibration is transmitted to the outer wall and the sound then becomes easily audible for an operator located at proximity.
- This architecture has the advantage of avoiding any piercing at the outer wall of the product to better broadcast the sound and thus provides a light / sound button that is waterproof with a very good protection index (IP), by example IP65 or even IP69, which is required in some industrial applications.
- IP very good protection index
- this architecture has the disadvantage of constraining the positioning of the LEDs under the vibrating generator on the periphery of the button so that they can not emit light directly on top of the indicator / button but only on the sides of the vibrating generator and so illuminate the LED / button indirectly. The brightness of the indicator / button is then greatly reduced.
- the document CN202281167U describes also a light and sound button in which a buzzer is fixed in the button and is extended at one end by a cavity which opens at the front of the button, so that the sound of the buzzer is transmitted in the air towards the 'outside.
- a button thus has an opening on its front face, which does not make it waterproof and prevents light diffusion on part of its front face.
- the document US 2010/0123595 discloses a signaling member according to the preamble of claim 1. An object of the invention is therefore to overcome the above problems and thus to obtain a waterproof light buzzer having both good light capacity and good sound capacity while remaining simple and economical design and realization.
- a signaling member comprising a cabochon, a light source mounted on a support circuit and a vibrating generator for emitting sound waves, the cabochon forming an outer wall at least partly translucent.
- the light source is positioned between the vibrating generator and the outer wall and the cabochon comprises a connecting column which passes through the support circuit and to which the vibrating generator is attached, so that the vibrations of the vibrating generator are directly transmitted to the cabochon.
- the light source comprises one or more light-emitting diodes.
- the vibrating generator comprises a piezoelectric transducer mounted on a deformable chip.
- the pellet is substantially circular in shape and comprises at its periphery reinforcements making it possible to increase its inertia. The vibrating generator can be glued to the end of the connecting column.
- the connecting column is located around a central axis of the signaling member and the support circuit comprises a central hole for passing the connecting column.
- the vibrating generator also serves as a light reflector capable of reflecting the light emitted by the light source.
- the signaling member also comprises a communication antenna positioned between the vibrating generator and the outer wall.
- the communication antenna can be attached to the support circuit.
- the signaling member comprises a body on which is fixed the cabochon, and the support circuit is placed at one end of the body.
- the figure 1 has a view in longitudinal section of a light and sound signaling member according to the invention.
- the signaling member comprises a head 10 which is mounted on a body 19.
- the body 19 may be of metal material or plastic depending on the type of organ.
- the head 10 comprises a cap 11 which forms a continuous outer wall 11 of the at least partly translucent member, so as to diffuse light outside the signaling member.
- the outer wall of the cabochon generally has a circular cross section and is extended by a lateral extension 13 at least partially surrounding the body 19 so as to be fixed to the body 19.
- the seal between the body 19 and the cabochon 11, 13 may further be reinforced by an O-ring 18.
- the outer wall of the cabochon has a concave overall shape, but it could also be of convex or flat shape.
- the connections of the signaling member with the outside (control circuits and power supply) are made from the body 19 and are not shown in the figures.
- the luminous part of the signaling member comprises a light source which is composed of two LEDs 22 in the example presented. These two LEDs 22 are mounted on a support circuit 20 of printed circuit type. Preferably, these two LEDs 22 are SMD components (Surface Mounted Component or SMD in English) soldered to the support circuit 20.
- the support circuit 20 can obviously carry other electronic components including those for controlling the light source. To optimize the brightness of the signaling member, is of course advantageous to position the LEDs in front of the outer wall of the cabochon without obstacle between the two.
- the sound portion of the signaling member comprises a vibrating generator comprising a piezoelectric type transducer 26 fixed on a deformable chip 25 which has an elasticity because it can deform under the action of the transducer but can return to its original shape when the action of the transducer disappears, as could a spring.
- the piezoelectric transducer 26 is able to deform under the action of an electrical voltage and thus to deform the pellet 25. By reversing the polarity of this voltage, the transducer 26 is deformed in an opposite manner.
- the applied electrical voltage is an alternating signal
- the transducer + pellet assembly generates a vibration and this vibration generates a sound.
- the alternating signal is a square signal but could also be a sinusoidal signal.
- the electrical conductors for transmitting the alternating signal to the piezoelectric transducer are not shown in the figures.
- the assembly + transducer 25,26 to the cabochon of the signaling member, so that the vibration is transmitted directly to the cabochon.
- the outer wall 11 of the cabochon is extended by a connecting column 12 which passes through the support circuit 20 through an opening 21 and on which is fixed the vibrating generator 25,26.
- This connecting column 12 must be light and rigid so that the vibrations generated during the application of an alternating voltage to the vibrating generator are effectively transmitted to the cabochon. Fixing the vibrating generator on the column 12 can be done for example by gluing the end of the connecting column 12 against the pellet 25.
- the light source and its support circuit can be interposed between the outer wall and the vibrating generator. Thanks to this solution, it benefits both a good sound efficiency since the sound is transmitted directly to the cabochon and a good luminous efficiency since the light source emits directly and without obstacle to the cabochon.
- the cabochon therefore does not require opening or hole to diffuse the sound, which makes the signaling member waterproof.
- the connecting column 12 may be a separate piece which is glued to the cabochon comprising the outer wall 11 and the lateral extension 13.
- the cabochon may comprise only a translucent molded part comprising the connecting column 12, the outer wall 11 and the lateral extension 13 which simplifies the manufacture of the signaling member.
- the signaling member is preferably designed so that the vibrating generator is fixed only to the connecting column 12 and therefore has no other attachment point, which further increases the efficiency of the vibrating generator.
- the pellet 25 is preferably of thin metal material (for example of the order of 0.1 mm) but can also be made with a ceramic or plastic material sufficiently rigid to vibrate. It is preferably circular and, as indicated in the figures, of larger size than the piezoelectric transducer 26.
- the resonance frequency of a piezoelectric transducer is proportional to its thickness and inversely proportional to the square of its diameter.
- a relatively low sound frequency for example of the order of 2000 to 3000Hz.
- the figure 4 presents a variant in which the circular pad 25 has at its periphery a reinforcement 27 which increase the inertia of the pellet and thus increase the sound power.
- the connecting column 12 is central, that is to say located around a longitudinal central axis X of the signaling member and the support circuit 20 has a central hole 21 of sufficient size to pass the column. 12.
- the LEDs 22 are placed on either side of the connecting column 12. The fact of having a central connecting column 12 makes it possible to fix the circular patch 25 at its center and thus to lessen the vibrations of the pellet.
- the light source could indifferently be composed of one or more LEDs depending on the light power and the desired consumption for the signaling element.
- a solution other than a piezoelectric transducer assembly fixed on a deformable tablet could also be considered for the vibrating generator, such as a solenoid with a magnet.
- the printed circuit 20 is placed above the ends of the body 19 and more particularly rests on the ends of the body 19, so that the light source 22 is placed closer to the translucent outer wall 11 so as to optimize the brightness of the signaling element.
- the figure 2 takes the characteristics of the figure 1 , except that the support circuit 20 is not placed on the ends of the body 19, but is inserted between the ends of the body 19, which allows the support circuit 20 to be moved slightly away from the outer wall 11 and thus to leave more room to position a light source 22 possibly larger if necessary, while maintaining similar dimensions and positioning of the pellet 25.
- the light source is not positioned between the support circuit 20 and the external wall 11 of the cabochon as in the Figures 1 and 2 , but it is the support circuit 20 which is positioned between the light source and the outer wall of the cap 11.
- the LEDs 22 are mounted under the support circuit 20 so as to be able to emit towards the outer wall but also towards the pellet 25
- the support circuit 20 has for example a crown shape which is positioned on the body 19 with a central hole 21 of large size, so that the luminous flux emitted by the LEDs 22 passes through this central hole 21 before arrive directly or indirectly against the outer wall of the cabochon 11.
- the vibrating generator thus also serves as a light reflector capable of reflecting the light emitted by the light source.
- the patch 25 is reflective which allows to return the light emitted by the LEDs 22 to the outer wall 11 of the cabochon and thus to the outside.
- the pellet 25 is for example covered with a reflective paint or a chromed or metallized coating.
- the vibrating generator contributes to reflect the luminous flux emitted by the light source which makes it possible to better homogenize and better diffuse the light seen by an external operator, by limiting the effects of points. existing luminaires formed by the LEDs when they emit only directly towards the external wall of the cabochon 11.
- the signaling element can advantageously also incorporate an interface for performing a wireless communication between the signaling member and an external device.
- Such wireless communication can be used in particular to easily set up and configure the modes of operation of the signaling device from an external device (program ramps, levels and types of sound sequences, intensities and colors of the light source, an identification for acknowledging or stopping the sound emission, etc ).
- the figure 4 thus shows an embodiment in which the signaling member comprises an antenna 23 allowing this wireless communication
- this wireless communication can be for example RFID type (radio frequency identification) and more particularly type NFC (near field communication) .
- RFID type radio frequency identification
- NFC near field communication
- the antenna 23 is thus fixed in the vicinity of the periphery of the support circuit 20. It is composed of one or more circular turns. Some turns (for example 4 to 5 for an antenna diameter of the order of 25 mm) are sufficient for an antenna with this type of wireless communication.
- the antenna 23 is not disturbed by the metal parts that can contain the vibrating generator and the body 19.
- the antenna could also be provided with a shield also placed on the support circuit 20.
