Definitions

  • the invention relates to the field of mechanical watchmaking. It relates, more particularly, to a fixture intended to be attached to a dial of a timepiece, comprising at least one foot having a first end secured to the applique and a second free end, the foot being arranged to be able to be introduced into a hole provided on the dial.
  • the present invention also relates to a method of fixing such a wall on a dial.
  • Appliques are hour digits or signs cut out of metal plates and then glued or riveted to the dial.
  • the sconces have feet that are mounted on the dial in holes previously made. Once placed, the foot is lapped, and riveted, welded or glued into the piercing.
  • the shoreline consists of crushing the free end of the foot into the hole by penetrating it into the hole to obtain an adhesive bond.
  • the shoreline requires a certain force on the foot to deform the material, so this technique can not be used for fragile dials.
  • the shoreline requires the application of an axial shore force that tends to push the applique out of the dial.
  • Fixing the sconces by welding imposes a choice of compatible materials, which limits the possibilities of materials that can be used to make the sconces and the dial. For example, it is not possible to weld gold sconces on a ceramic dial.
  • the invention particularly aims to overcome the various drawbacks of known techniques for assembling appliques on a dial.
  • an object of the invention is to provide a wall for a simple assembly on the dial, while ensuring excellent support.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a fixture for performing a control of the quality of the assembly by non-destructive optical means in an automated manner and on all the assembled parts.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a wall mount for mounting on the dial which is reversible, allowing the change of wall without damaging the dial.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide an applique to remove any constraint in the choice of materials of the dial and the applique.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a method of fixing a wall on a robust and stable dial.
  • the present invention relates to an applique according to claim 1.
  • the present invention also relates to a method of fixing a wall-mounted device to a dial of a timepiece according to claim 3.
  • the invention makes it possible to obtain a fastening of an applique on a dial which is safe, reversible, without constraint of choice of materials and which makes it possible to carry out an automated control of the quality of the fastening of the applique on the dial by optical means, preferably nondestructive.
  • the wall 1 comprises a head 2 on which is made a sign 3, such as a digit to indicate the time, or any other index.
  • the head can be the sign itself.
  • the head can have different shapes and dimensions, depending on the sign to be affixed to the dial.
  • the wall 1 also comprises at least one foot 4 having a first end secured to the head 2 of the wall 1, and a second end 6 free.
  • the foot 4 is arranged and sized to be introduced into a hole or a hole 8, preferably through, provided on the dial 10 for this purpose.
  • the number of feet per wall can vary mainly depending on the size and shape of the wall lamp.
  • the foot 4 may preferably have a section of circular shape, but any other suitable form may be considered, the hole 8 then having a section of complementary shape.
  • the foot 4 comprises, on the side of its free end 6, a plastically deformable zone 12 arranged to form after its deformation, once the foot 4 introduced into the hole 8 of the dial 10, at least one obstacle assembly zone 14 of the foot 4 on the dial 10.
  • the expression "on the side of the free end” means closer to the free end than to the integral end.
  • the plastically deformable zone 12 is arranged so that the obstacle assembly zone 14 obtained has contours drawing a substantially elongate shape, perfectly distinct from the shape of the free end 6 of the foot before its deformation, for example circular.
  • This substantially elongated shape is reproducible and is clearly identifiable by a simple optical control, preferably non-destructive, such as a shooting, of the substantially elongated shape of the obstacle assembly zone 14.
  • the optical control can be automated and performed on all assembled parts, without having to destroy the parts made.
  • the obstacle assembly zone 14 may be covered with a fastening means to the definitive dial 26, such as glue, molten metal, solder or any other equivalent means. It makes it possible to reinforce the fastening of the applique on the dial but also to freeze the positioning of the assembly zone by obstacle 14. When optical control is carried out, said means of fixing to the definitive dial is deposited after said optical control. .
  • a fastening means to the definitive dial 26 such as glue, molten metal, solder or any other equivalent means.
  • the foot 4 of the wall 1 has a height greater than the height of the hole 8 of the dial 10 so that a portion of the foot 4 terminated by its free end 6 protrudes from the hole 8, the plastically deformable zone 12 being provided on said part of the foot intended to protrude from the hole 8.
  • the obstacle assembly zone 14 is formed on said part of the foot protruding from the hole 8, so as to form a surface abutting against the underside of the sufficiently large dial 10 to ensure the fixing of the applique by preventing any extraction of the foot 4 of the hole 10.
  • the height of the foot 4 is the distance separating its first end integral with the applique of its second free end 6. All the heights used in this Description are distances taken parallel to the height of the foot 4.
  • the plastically deformable zone 12 represented on the figure 2a comprises at least one recess 16 made in the foot 4 on the side of its free end 6 intended in this variant to protrude from the hole 8 provided on the dial 10.
  • the number, the shape and the position of the recesses 16 can be adapted to optimize the plastic deformation of the plastically deformable zone 12 of the foot 4.
  • the obstacle assembly zone 14 obtained has a substantially elongate shape, perfectly distinct from the shape of the free end 6 of the foot before its deformation, for example circular.
  • This substantially elongated shape is reproducible and is clearly identifiable by a simple optical control preferably non-destructive, such as a shooting, of the substantially elongated shape of the obstacle assembly zone 14.
  • the obstacle assembly zone 14 is covered with a fixing means to the final dial 26, such as glue, for securing said obstacle assembly zone 14 to the dial.
  • the final fixing means 26 is deposited once the optical check has been carried out.
  • the plastically deformable zone 12 comprises a rupture primer 18 provided on the free end 6 of the foot 4, that is to say on the surface of the free end 6 forming the base of the foot 4, as shown by figures 3a , 4a, and 6a .
  • the breaking primer 18 is intended to form, after deformation of the portion of the foot 4 protruding from the hole 8, once the foot 4 is inserted into the hole 8 of the dial 10, at least one slot 20 extending from the free end 6 foot 4, that is to say from the base of the foot 4, to create at minus two tabs 22 separated by said slot 20.
  • Said tabs 22 are folded on the dial to advantageously form obstacle assembly areas 14 of the foot 4 on the dial 10, as shown by the figures 3b , 4b, 5 and 6b .
  • the number of slots and legs can be varied to form the number of optimum joining areas.
  • the slot 20 has a height such that, depending on the type of material used, the part of the foot 4 inserted in the hole 8 does not have a crack during the deformation.
  • the foot height ratio under the slot 20 (between the integral end of the applique and the base of the slot 20): height of the hole 8 in the dial 10 is preferably less than 1.
  • the two lugs 22 separated by the slot 20 folded on the dial to form the obstacle assembly zones 14 form a contour of substantially elongated shape, perfectly distinct from the shape of the free end 6 of the foot before its deformation, for example circular.
  • This substantially elongated shape is reproducible and is clearly identifiable by a simple optical control preferably non-destructive, such as a shooting, of the substantially elongate shape of the tabs 22 separated by the slot 20.
  • the optical control can be automated and made on all the assembled parts.
  • the dial 10 is plane so that the height of the hole 8 is equal to the height of the dial 10.
  • the obstacle assembly zone 14 therefore exceeds the overall surface of the dial 10.
  • the dial 10 comprises a hollow 24 in which the through hole 8 is formed, and the height of the hole 8 is equal to the height of the dial under the recess 24.
  • the obstacle assembly zone 14 is embedded in the dial 10 and does not protrude from the overall surface of the dial 10.
  • the recess 24 is filled by a fixing means to the final dial 26, such as glue, so as to cover the part of the foot 4 protruding from the hole 8.
  • a fixing means to the final dial 26, such as glue, so as to cover the part of the foot 4 protruding from the hole 8.
  • a spacer 28 placed between the dial 10 and the obstacle assembly zone 14 of the foot 4 on the dial 10.
  • the spacer 28 is inserted between the foot 4 and the dial 10 More specifically, it is arranged around the part of the foot 4 protruding from the hole 8 before the deformation of the elastically deformable zone 12.
  • the spacer 28 may be metallic or plastic and makes it possible to limit the local pressures applied by the zones. This variant is particularly advantageous when the dial is made of a fragile material.
  • the spacer 28 may also be associated with an anti-rotation piece (fluted washer for example), useful especially when the applique has a single foot.
  • the foot 4 has a height less than or equal to the height of the hole 8.
  • the hole 8 has a section of conical section whose dimensions are greater than the dimensions of the foot 4 before deformation of the plastically deformable zone 12, to allow the introduction of the foot into the hole 8 before deformation.
  • the dimensions of the conically shaped section area are chosen so that the obstacle assembly area 14 abuts against said conical section area.
  • the tabs 22 form a reverse cone which is part of the conically shaped sectional area of the hole 8 so that said tabs 22 abut against the walls of the hole 8 preventing any extraction of the foot 4 of the hole 10. It is obvious that this variant can be combined with the production of the hole in a recess, as well as the use of fastening means to the definitive dial to cover the obstacle assembly zone 14 and fill at least the hole 8.
  • the present invention also relates to a method for attaching a sconce 1 to a dial 10 of a timepiece, said method comprising the steps of: a) preparing a scaffold 1 comprising at least one base 4 having a first integral end of the applique and a second free end 6, the foot 4 being arranged to be introduced into a hole 8 provided on the dial 10, said foot 4 having, on the side of its free end 6, a plastically deformable zone 12, the plastically deformable zone 12) comprising a rupture primer 18 provided on the free end 6 of the foot 4 and intended to form, after deformation, once the foot 4 is inserted into the hole 8 of the dial 10, at least one slot 20 extending from the free end 6 of the foot 4 to create at least two tabs 22 separated by said slot 20, said tabs 22 forming obstacle assembly areas 14 of the foot 4 on the dial 10, b) insert the foot 4 of the 1 applies in the hole 8 of the dial 10, c) deform the plastically deformable zone 12 of the foot 4 to form at least one obstacle assembly zone 14
  • the foot 4 When the foot 4 has a height greater than the height of the hole 8, the foot 4 is introduced into said hole 8 so that the plastically deformable zone 12 protrudes from the hole 8 of the dial 10.
  • the method comprises, after step c), a step d) of controlling the quality of the fixing of the applique on the dial by optical means.
  • optical means are preferably non-destructive. They may include, for example, a camera to take a photograph of the underside of the dial, after assembly of the applique, means for analyzing the resulting photograph and means for validating the quality of the the assembly, in particular according to the shape of the obstacle assembly zone of the foot on the dial. Obtaining an elongated shape respecting previously selected criteria will validate the good quality of the assembly. Otherwise, the free end of the foot can be redesigned to allow retouching or to remove the incorrectly placed applique, without having to damage the dial.
  • the optical control method is simple and can be automated to be applied to all parts produced.
  • the method may comprise a step e) of covering the obstacle assembly zone 14 by means of attachment to the definitive dial 26, such as glue, to secure the applique to the dial. step e) being performed after step c), and after step d) in the case where this optical control step d) is performed.
