Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cut protection strip, in particular a cut protection strip which can be used as a mechanical protection in the field of sanitary joints.
  • the invention relates to the use of such a cut protection strip.
  • joints in and on buildings which are provided with a mostly elastic grout.
  • Such joints are provided, for example, as expansion joints in areas where different materials meet.
  • expansion joints are also used e.g. provided in the floor area to subdivide floating floor coverings.
  • such joints result, inter alia, in the connection area between sanitary installations (for example a bathtub) and a subsequent wall covering (for example in the form of tiles).
  • such joints also result in the transition region between a floor covering and a wall covering and in room corners.
  • a sealing tape can be cut or a liquid seal or a special seal can be cut through. As a result, moisture can penetrate eg into a wall.
  • the cut protection strip is used where there is a gap between tiles, stoneware, slabs or the like.
  • the cut protection strip should be suitable above all for the installation in the range of sanitary rooms, kitchens and swimming pools.
  • the cut protection strips in the field of sanitary facilities, kitchens, swimming pools, saunas and similar areas should be combined with sealing tapes and connection tapes.
  • a cut protection strip according to the preamble of claim 1 is made AT 510127 A1 known.
  • the cut protection strip according to the invention of a preferred embodiment is characterized in that it has a strip length and a strip width perpendicular thereto, the cut protection strip comprising a flat metal grid structure.
  • This metal lattice structure lies in a plane which is defined by the strip length and the strip width.
  • the metal grid structure extends along the strip length and has a longitudinal bead or groove.
  • the longitudinal bead or groove extends parallel to the strip length and divides the metal grid structure into a first longitudinal strip above the longitudinal bead or groove and a second longitudinal strip below the longitudinal bead or groove.
  • the metal grid structure is designed such that at least one of the longitudinal strips is bendable out of the plane into an angled position along the longitudinal bead or groove.
  • the metal lattice structure should be a (solid) mesh, woven, braided, perforated, or scrim flexible in the plane.
  • the metal grid structure is preferably configured so flexibly that a longitudinal section of the metal grid structure and / or the cut protection strip can be rolled up.
  • the term "strip” is intended to indicate that the geometry in one direction, the so-called “strip longitudinal direction”, extends very far, while the perpendicular measured thereto width and thickness of the strip are much lower.
  • the cut protection strip has a substantially oblong rectangular cross-section transverse to the belt direction, having a width which is (several times) greater than the thickness of the belt.
  • the width of the cut protection strip may be, for example, between about 2 cm and 20 cm in all embodiments.
  • Its thickness may typically be between about 0.5 mm and 5 mm in all embodiments.
  • planar metal grid structure if present, in all embodiments includes holes, recesses or meshes, which are preferably smaller than 5 mm.
  • the cut protection strip may be two-ply or multi-ply in all embodiments.
  • the described cut protection strip with the flat metal lattice structure has the advantage that it can easily be wound up on a roll for storage and for transport, since the metal lattice structure ensures flexibility of the cut protection strip. Due to the lattice structure, the cut protection strip can be made e.g. Roll up on a roll and it can be guided around a rounding when installing (if it is laid flat). Therefore, such a cut protection strip can also be laid around edges and radii of (sanitary) objects or facilities. If the cut protection strip is to be laid in the angled shape around a radius, wedge shaped cutouts may be provided in one of the longitudinal strips (e.g., with metal scissors).
  • At least one longitudinal edge of the cut protection strip may optionally have a different material and / or a different structure than the longitudinal strips in all embodiments. Such a cut protection strip can be handled better, since it can be used during installation e.g. can be held with the fingers on the longitudinal edge.
  • At least one longitudinal edge of the cut protection strip may optionally comprise a nonwoven strip in all embodiments to facilitate embedding of the cut protection strip e.g. to facilitate in a composite seal.
  • the longitudinal bead is arranged centrally in the metal grid structure.
  • the longitudinal bead or groove may also be arranged eccentrically in all embodiments, wherein the However, longitudinal bead or groove always extends parallel to the longitudinal direction of the cut protection strip.
  • At least one surface of the cut protection strip can optionally be provided with an adhesive in all embodiments in order to secure the cut protection strip to an object (bathtub, shower channel, wall, floor, etc.) or another product part (sealing tape, sealing film, tub strap, etc.) ,
  • a multi-layered butyl adhesive may be used which comprises at least one film and at least one butyl layer.
  • adhesive bonds e.g. be used to connect a strip of material with two longitudinal strips to a ready cut protection strip, be covered with peelable protective films.
  • a reference to the wall is partially made, in which e.g. from a wall-near element, a wall facing, wall facing away from the surface or a wall-parallel assembly is the speech.
  • Lx parallel to the x-axis
  • b s strip width perpendicular to it
  • various embodiments are shown in the flat original form.
  • Cut protection strips 10 are shown in the angled mounting form.
  • the strip length Lx defined with the perpendicular stripe width b s a plane E.
  • this plane E lies in the plane of the drawing.
  • the cut protection strip 10 comprises in all embodiments a first longitudinal strip 16.1 and a second longitudinal strip 16.2. Furthermore, the cut protection strip 10 in all embodiments comprises a longitudinal bead or groove 14 which extends parallel to the strip length Lx and which is arranged between the first longitudinal strip 16.1 and the second longitudinal strip 16.2.
  • This longitudinal bead or groove 14 defines a bending region in all embodiments, or the longitudinal bead or groove 14 allows hingedly folding a first longitudinal strip with respect to a second longitudinal strip.
  • the use of the words "bead” and “groove” is therefore to be understood as a means to achieve this flexibility or foldability.
  • the longitudinal bead or groove 14 does not necessarily have to represent a cavity when viewed in cross-section.
  • the cut protection strip 10 is designed in all embodiments so that it can be converted from the flat original shape into an angled mounting form. This is done by bending or folding at least one of the longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2 of the cut protection strip 10 along the longitudinal bead or groove 14 out of the plane E into an angled position.
  • FIG. 1A and 1B a first embodiment of a cut protection strip 10 is shown.
  • This cut protection strip 10 consists of the first longitudinal strip 16.1, the second longitudinal strip 16.2 and the longitudinal bead or groove 14.
  • the strip width b s here corresponds to the total width b (see also FIG Fig. 2A ). It can be seen in section along the section line II that in all embodiments, for example, a longitudinal cavity can serve as a longitudinal bead or groove 14.
  • the material of the longitudinal bead or groove 14 is here identical to the material of the longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2. It is therefore an integral embodiment.
  • this grid material is designated by the reference numeral 11.
  • FIGS. 2A and 2B a second embodiment of a cut protection strip 10 is shown.
  • This cut protection strip 10 comprises a first longitudinal strip 16.1, a second longitudinal strip 16.2, a longitudinal bead or groove 14, and an upper edge strip 12 and a lower edge strip 13.
  • the strip width b s of the longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2 is therefore smaller than the total width b.
  • Fig. 2B indicated that the edge strips 12, 13 comprise a different material than the longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2.
  • the longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2 may, for example, comprise a grid material 11, whereas the edge strips 12, 13 comprise, for example, a plastic material and / or a nonwoven material.
  • Fig. 3A a length section of another cut protection strip 10 of length Lx is shown.
  • the cut protection strip 10 of Fig. 3A may be constructed as the cut protection strip 10 of Fig. 1A
  • Fig. 3B is a shorter length portion of the cut protection strip 10 of Fig. 3A shown in an assembly form.
  • the longitudinal strip 16.2 has been bent forward along the longitudinal bead or groove 14.
  • the longitudinal strip 16.1 continues to lie in the already mentioned plane E.
  • a longitudinal section of a further cut protection strip 10 is shown.
  • This cut protection strip 10 is in turn constructed in one piece, wherein the longitudinal bead or groove 14 is executed with interruptions. That is to say that the longitudinal bead or groove 14 is not continuous in the longitudinal direction. Nevertheless, such a longitudinal bead or groove 14 intermittently fulfills the purpose. It defines a bending edge that extends parallel to the x-axis.
  • the longitudinal bead or groove 14 may in all embodiments also be e.g. are formed by elongated slots that run along a line parallel to the x-axis.
  • Fig. 4B shows a schematic view of such a one-piece cut protection strip 10, which consists entirely of a cut-resistant strip of material and having a longitudinal bead or groove 14 which is defined by longitudinal slots.
  • a longitudinal section of a further cut protection strip 10 is shown.
  • This cut protection strip 10 is constructed in several pieces.
  • This cut protection strip 10 comprises two separate longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2, which are connected to one another in the region of the longitudinal bead or groove 14.
  • the connection here is how to get in Fig. 5B can recognize a flexible strip of material 15.
  • This flexible strip of material can be glued, welded or otherwise connected, for example, with the two longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2. Due to the flexibility of the material strip 15, the embodiment of the FIGS. 5A, 5B be converted from a flat original shape and the mounting form.
  • the two longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2 may be buttocks or there may be a small distance between these two longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2.
  • FIGS. 6A to 6E different lattice structures 11 are shown. These grid structures 11 are suitable for both one-piece and multi-piece embodiments of the invention. Preferably, these are metal or plastic grid structures 11.
  • Fig. 7 shows a possible installation situation in a highly schematic form. It can be seen a building corner, in which, for example, two walls collide. Along the corner, which stands here perpendicular to the plane of the drawing, a sealing tape 17 has been laid. This sealing tape 17 is represented by thick black lines and here has two legs, which merge into each other in the corner. A cut protection strip 10 is mounted in front of the sealing strip 17. Two tiles 20 are shown, which were attached by means of a tile adhesive 18. Between the two tiles 20 results in the corner of a joint, which is provided here with a gray joint material 19 shown.
  • a cut protection strip 10 of the invention in the angled form is mounted in the corner region (the longitudinal axis x is perpendicular to the plane of the drawing). It will also be appreciated that the longitudinal bead or groove 14 can not be achieved with a carpet knife when attempting to remove the grout 19. On Such a carpet knife will rather reach the upwardly facing longitudinal strips 16.1 of the cut protection strip 10 than the lower strip or groove 14 located further down.
  • the longitudinal bead or groove 14 is not necessarily made of a cut-resistant material (eg, a grid structure) must be made, as in the embodiments of the FIGS. 1A, 1B . 2A, 2B . 3A, 3B and 4 the case is. In the region of the longitudinal bead or groove 14 may well be a material used, which is not cut-resistant, as based on the embodiment of Fig. 5A, 5B shown.
  • a cut-resistant material eg, a grid structure
  • Fig. 8 shows another possible installation situation in a highly schematic form. It can be seen a floor area (eg a swimming pool), in which, for example, two tile areas 20 abut each other.
  • a sealing tape 17 has been laid. This sealing tape 17 is represented by a thick black line.
  • a cut protection strip 10 is mounted flat in front of the sealing strip 17. Two tiles 20 are shown, which were attached by means of a tile adhesive 18. Between the two tiles 20 results in an expansion joint, which is provided here with a gray joint material 19 shown.
  • the cut protection strip 10 can also be mounted off-center.
  • a metal grid structure is used as the grid structure 11 at least for the longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2, since such a material is cut-resistant, flexible and can be embedded in tile adhesive or mortar 18.
  • a metal grid structure if used, may in the corresponding embodiments have holes, recesses or meshes smaller than 5 mm.
  • the cut protection strip 10 can also comprise a flat plastic, metal or composite material (for example Kevlar with resin) as the base material of the longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2, wherein these materials, respectively the longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2, have to be cut-resistant.
  • a flat plastic, metal or composite material for example Kevlar with resin
  • the cut protection strip 10 may in all embodiments include, for example, a longitudinal strip 16.1 as a metal grid structure 11 and a longitudinal strip 16.2 as a sheet plastic, metal or composite material, these two longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2 are connected by a flexible strip of material 15 (analogous to Fig. 5B ).
  • the cut resistance can be achieved in all embodiments by addition / addition of fibers, spheres or granules in the plastic material or in the composite material.
  • the cut protection strip 10 may have a strip width b s of the longitudinal strips 16.1, 16.2, which is between 2 cm and 20 cm in all embodiments.
  • the cut protection strip 10 may in all embodiments have a strip thickness d, which is defined perpendicular to the plane E and which is between 0.5 mm and 5 mm.
  • the longitudinal bead or groove 14 of the cut protection strip 10 can in all embodiments an extension b 1 (see Fig. 1B ) parallel to the strip width b s , which is between 1 mm and 1 cm.
