Description

Domaine de l'inventionField of the invention

The present invention relates to the field of the ornamentation of articles or parts of any kind by the incrustation of decorative pattern elements on surface portions thereof forming support. The invention applies to any material capable of forming a support that is particularly rigid or flexible. The pattern element may be a stone, precious or not, a crimp or more generally any element likely to be embedded in a support material.

Etat de la techniqueState of the art

To decorate a surface portion of certain pieces or articles, it has been desired to arrange and fix elements of decorative pattern. One known means is to stick these elements on the surface portion of the part, possibly in a cavity in the support. However, the glue may degrade over time or the adhesive film may yield when it is subjected to tearing forces when using the piece thus decorated. This connection mode is thus in some cases unsatisfactory. Another known means, when the support allows it, is mechanical and consists in producing a screwing or complementary element which is placed on the opposite face of the surface portion to be decorated and to screw or rivet the decorative pattern element. through the support. In addition to the extra thickness that is created by the assembly, this connection mode is not suitable for a wide range of pattern elements. In particular the element must have a minimum size for the mechanical connection. The documents DE 197 58 496 A1 and FR 2 260 966 A1 both describe an article as defined in the preamble of claim 1 and a method as defined in the preamble of claim 9.

The subject of the invention is a novel means for connecting a decorative motif element to a support which does not have the drawbacks of the prior art.

Description détaillée de divers modes de réalisation de l'inventionDetailed description of various embodiments of the invention

L'élément 110 est incrusté en étant logé et retenu dans un logement réalisé dans l'épaisseur du support 10.Referring first to the figure 1 it is seen, according to a first embodiment of the invention, the detail of an article comprising a support 10 and a decorative motif element 110. The support is here formed of three layers of material 11, 12, 13, by for example a flexible material such as leather, in which is embedded the decorative element 110, for example a crimp which itself contains a stone. The element 110 is encrusted while being housed and retained in a housing made in the thickness of the support 10.

The support comprises a surface portion with a visible outer face 11a.

The pattern element 110 is shaped so as to have a first portion 111 and a second portion 112. The first portion 111 is visible on the side of the surface portion 10a of the support. Here it protrudes slightly and forms a relief with respect to this face 10a. The second portion 112 forms a lateral extension relative to the first portion 111 and is not visible from the face 10a; it is covered by a material thickness of the support 10. Thus, the housing 10b of the support 10 comprises a first part corresponding to the first part 111 of the element 110. The housing 10b of the support comprises a second part in which is placed the element with its lateral extension 112. The support comprises a second thickness covering the opposite side of the element. This second thickness is formed here by the layer 13 opposite to the face 10a. By covering the lateral extension on both sides, the element is locked in position and can not be detached from the support. In other words, the housing 10b is defined by a passage for the first part 111 of the pattern element 110, said passage being formed by the first material thickness, here defined by the two material layers 11, 12, said housing 10b being further formed by the second material thickness, here defined by the single layer of material 13, which closes said passage opposite said lateral extension 112.

Advantageously, the layers 11, 12, 13 forming the thicknesses of the support are bonded together. They can be linked in another way too.

The figure 2 shows another embodiment of the invention. Here the pattern element 120 is a cut stone. The stone is formed of a first portion 121, visible, and a second portion 122 at its periphery forming lateral extension. The stone here is frustoconical on the side of the visible side and conical on the opposite side. The frustoconical face of the upper part constitutes the lateral extension 122 of the upper side and the surface at the base of the conical part constitutes the lateral extension of the opposite side.

The support 20 comprises a stack of six layers, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 bonded together by bonding for example with a cavity forming an adjusted housing containing the stone 120. It is seen here that the upper layer 21 whose free face is the surface portion 20a. The upper layer 21 covers the lateral extension 122 of the pattern element 120. In this way, the upper layer on the one hand 21 partially overlaps the pattern element 120 and the underlying layers 22 on the other hand. 25 maintain the element 120 in the thickness of the support.

The figure 3 illustrates another embodiment of the invention. The support 30 is formed of three layers 31, 32 and 33 superimposed and bonded together, with a visible surface portion 30a corresponding to the free face 31a of the upper layer 31.

The housing 30b of the support contains the element 130 and the upper layers 31 and 32 cover the lateral extension 132 on the side of the visible face 30a. The opposite side of the lateral extension 132 is covered by the layer 33. Thus the element 130 is held in place by the cooperation of the layers of the support with the lateral extension 132.

Ici la face opposée comprend une ouverture centrale par rapport à l'élément 140.The figure 4 illustrates a fourth embodiment with a support 40 formed of three layers 41, 42, 43 and a pattern element 140, in the housing 40b, which may for example be a crimp as in Example 1. The element comprises a first portion 141 visible through the face 40a of the support which corresponds to the visible face 41a of the upper layer 41. The first portion 141 is raised relative to the face 40a. However the element 140 remains trapped by the lateral extension 142 between the layers 41 and 42. Here the opposite face comprises a central opening relative to the element 140.

The figure 5 illustrates different forms of pattern element seen from above. It can be square round shape or others.

The figure 6 shows two embodiments with a rigid upper layer. The upper layer may be for example wood. The decorative pattern element 150 rests on a layer 52, which may be rigid or flexible, in which a housing has been dug. It is held in place and immobilized by the upper layer 51 which is perforated to allow passage to the visible portion 151 of the element 150. The lateral extension 152 of the element 150 is sandwiched between the two layers 51 and 52. In the same drawing there is shown another element 160 in the form of a disk.

The figure 7 shows an example of a pattern element 110 in the form of a crimp. The latter comprises a body 113, here in the form of a socket, in which a stone 114, in particular a gemstone or semi-precious stone is fixed, in particular crimped. Said body 113 includes said extension 112 and forms with said stone 114 said first portion 111 of the pattern element.

To the figure 8 , said body 113 is provided with a pin 200, located on one side 202 of said body 113 opposite that containing the stone 114, not shown. In other words, said extension 112 is situated between said pin 200 and the portion of the body 113 containing the stone 114. Said pin makes it possible to reinforce the holding of said pattern element in the support, in particular when the latter is of a rigid nature.

The assembly of these elements comprises first cutting, for example punch, all or part of the various layers that will constitute the support with the housing conformed to the pattern elements that will be received.

For example for the element 110, the housing 10b is cut in the two layers 11 and 12 and then the two layers are glued together to form a thickness of material. The element 110 is slid into this housing by the face opposite to the free face 11a of the layer 11. Once the element 110 is in place, the whole is covered with the layer 13 which is glued. The lateral extension 112 at the periphery of the first portion 11 of the element 110 is engaged by these two faces with the two thicknesses of material.

Ensuite, on place la couche supérieure 21, préalablement convenablement découpée de manière à recouvrir la zone périphérique 122.For the realization of the figure 2 For example, it is possible to assemble the layers 22 to 25, to hollow out a cavity in order to house the conical tip of the element 120 in a preferably adjusted manner. Then, the upper layer 21, previously suitably cut in order to cover the peripheral zone 122, is placed.
