Definitions
- the invention relates to a warhead, in particular for artillery / mortar explosive projectiles, with a warhead casing containing an explosive charge.
- the invention also relates to an explosive charge module for such a warhead.
- the projectile casing is in two parts, a rear projectile casing section and a ring-shaped front projectile casing section containing the mouth opening being produced in the direction of the longitudinal axis. Both parts can be connected to one another via a screw connection.
- the DE 10 2011 010 183 A1 describes an explosive training projectile with a one-piece shell that has the signature of an original explosive projectile. This shell is integrated into a multi-part cargo shell shell.
- a twist-stabilized explosive projectile also reveals the DE 10 2012 000 011 A1 .
- a separating web extending in the direction of the central longitudinal axis is provided.
- an explosive projectile which has a cavity which is filled with an explosive charge.
- a silicone intermediate layer is provided between the explosive charge and the inner surface of the projectile body.
- An explosive projectile with a warhead casing that encloses an explosive charge made of plastic-bound explosives is that DE 10 2014 103 105 B3 removable.
- An active body containing an explosive charge is generally referred to as a warhead.
- This can preferably be the warhead of an explosive projectile, but also, for example, a mine provided with an explosive charge or a rocket provided with an explosive charge.
- the explosive charge in particular explosive projectiles
- the explosive charge is produced by pressing or pouring a corresponding explosive mixture into the warhead casing.
- the warhead casing which is usually made of steel
- a non-destructive test of the explosive charge for defects such as blowholes, cracks or foreign bodies. This is because such a non-destructive material test is usually carried out with the aid of X-ray methods, which, due to the metal structure of the warhead casing surrounding the explosive charge, often do not lead to clear results.
- the invention is based on the object of disclosing a warhead, the explosive charge of which can be produced in a simple manner and subjected to reliable and meaningful quality control without the explosive effect of the explosive charge being negatively influenced as a result. Furthermore, an explosive charge module for use in such a warhead is to be disclosed.
- the present invention is essentially based on the idea of replacing the entire explosive charge produced by pressing or pouring an explosive mixture into the warhead casing with several smaller, appropriately prefabricated explosive charge modules containing explosive charge modules that are only then combined to form the total charge as part of an assembly or loading process.
- the explosive charge modules are structurally self-contained systems, which in turn each contain a corresponding part of the total explosive charge and form the total explosive charge.
- the grenade is different U.S. 373,459 A .
- the charge chamber of the high-explosive grenade is divided into several chambers by a series of horizontal screens, which in turn are closed by the screens. Explosive charge modules are not shown here.
- the total cost of manufacturing the warheads can be reduced by using the explosive charge modules according to the invention. Due to the relatively low net explosion mass, for example for the production of explosive charges, lower safety regulations must be observed than for the production of a warhead, in which the entire explosive charge is introduced into the warhead casing and then pressed.
- the prefabricated explosive charges are assembled to form a complete warhead or explosive projectile after appropriate control using a cargo-typical structure of the projectile shell.
- the explosive charge bodies of the explosive charge modules can be both explosive charge pellets and explosive charge bodies produced by the casting process. If the explosive charges are not protected by any additional casing, they themselves form the respective explosive charge module.
- the respective explosive charge modules advantageously consist of an explosive charge body, which is enclosed by a protective sleeve (liner) made of a combustible material, preferably plastic, and protects the explosive charge body during storage, loading, and loads.
- a protective sleeve made of a combustible material, preferably plastic, and protects the explosive charge body during storage, loading, and loads.
- the protective effect of the liner allows larger deviations in shape and surface of the enclosing warhead casing.
- This liner can consist of different materials and thicknesses. What is decisive, however, is that the barrier formed by the liner between the explosive charges does not - or does not significantly - restrict the complete detonation of the entire charge and, moreover, does not unnecessarily take up the payload volume.
- the wall thickness of the respective liner should therefore be as small as possible.
- the liner is made of a material that has the same or a similar temperature expansion behavior as the explosive body it encloses.
- the liner can also take on an important shielding function against unwanted external loads.
- the interface between the bottom and the shell often forms a weak point with regard to dangerous powder gases during projectile acceleration.
- the explosive projectile or the warhead thus consists of several components that are selected or put together in a special way.
- a preferably cargo-typical projectile shell made of splinter-forming material or in another form suitable for generating effective splinters accommodates the prefabricated explosive modules inside.
- Known explosive head fuses can be used as projectile fuses. By means of their detonator output, these act on the first cell on the ignition side (explosive charge module). This means that the total charge consisting of the modules (several, but at least two) detonates completely and, in interaction with the projectile casing, ensures the generation of effective splinters.
- the explosive charge bodies and thus the explosive charge modules can for their part be individually designed and selected. The size of the body / modules as well as the composition and thus the efficiency can be designed individually.
- Fig.1 1 denotes the warhead of a large-caliber explosive projectile (for example with a caliber of 155 mm).
- the warhead 1 comprises a warhead casing 2 made of a fragment-forming material.
- a floor 3 is arranged on the rear of the warhead casing 2 and on its ogival front end region 4, a head fuse 5 is attached via a screw connection.
- the warhead casing 2 encloses an interior space in which, in this exemplary embodiment, six explosive charge modules 6-11 are located, which are axially directly adjacent to one another and are supported on the circumference of the inner wall 12 of the warhead casing 2.
- the explosive charge modules 6-10 in the present case have essentially the same shape and size.
- the explosive charge module designated by 11 is adapted to the shape of the ogival front end region 4 of the warhead casing 2.
- the structure of the explosive charge module 6 (and thus also the structure of the explosive charge modules 7-10) is over Fig. 2 evident. It essentially consists of a cylindrical explosive charge body 13, preferably made by the casting process, for example a mixture of hexogen and / or octogen and a plastic binder, and a plastic casing 14 surrounding the explosive charge body 13.
- the (here) six explosive charge modules 6-11 are pushed into the warhead casing 2 on the floor side.
- the explosive charge modules 6-11 should be supported on one another without any gaps in the axial direction, so that it may be necessary to provide compensating disks (not shown) on the base or on the detonator side to equalize manufacturing tolerances.
- the projectile base 3 is fastened to the rear end of the warhead casing 2 and (in the case of an explosive projectile) the head fuse 5 is fastened to the ogival end region 4 of the warhead casing 2.
- the invention is of course not restricted to the exemplary embodiment described above.
- the cylindrical explosive charge modules have end faces which are designed in such a way that the frontally adjacent explosive charge modules can each be axially connected to one another via a form-fit connection.
- the explosive charge modules comprise more than one explosive charge body, so that two or more explosive charge bodies are integrated in the respective explosive charge module.

Description
US 373,459 A .
- In
Fig.2 ersichtlich.
