Definitions

  • the invention relates to a warhead for artillery / mortar explosive projectiles in particular with an explosive charge containing warhead casing.
  • the invention further relates to an explosive charge module for such a warhead.
  • DE 10 2009 022 495 A1 discloses a method for producing a large-caliber explosive projectile and an explosive projectile produced therewith.
  • the projectile casing is in two parts, with a rear-side projectile casing section and a ring-shaped front projectile casing section containing the mouth-hole being produced in the direction of the longitudinal axis. Both parts can be connected to one another via a screw connection.
  • a spin stabilized explosive projectile also discloses DE 10 2012 000 01 1 A1.
  • a separating web extending in the direction of the central longitudinal axis is provided.

  • An explosive projectile with a warhead casing, which includes an explosive charge of plastic-bound explosive, can be taken from DE 10 2014 103 105 B3.
  • the warhead is generally referred to as an active body containing an explosive charge.
  • This may preferably be the warhead of an explosive projectile, but also, for example, a mine provided with an explosive charge or a missile provided with an explosive charge.
  • the explosive charge in particular of blasting projectiles, is produced by injecting or pouring a corresponding explosive mixture into the warhead casing. It has proved especially in large caliber warheads problematic to perform a nondestructive examination of the explosive charge for defects such as voids, cracks or foreign bodies after the introduction of the explosive charge in the usually consisting of steel warhead casing. Because such a non-destructive material testing is usually carried out with the aid of X-ray methods, which often does not lead to clear results due to the metal structure of the warhead casing surrounding the explosive charge.
  • the invention has for its object to disclose a warhead, the explosive charge can be easily prepared and subjected to a safe and meaningful quality control, without thereby the explosive effect of the explosive charge is adversely affected. Further, an explosive charge module for use in such a warhead is disclosed.
  • the present invention is based essentially on the idea of replacing the entire explosive charge produced by injecting or pouring an explosive mixture into the warhead casing by a plurality of smaller explosive charge modules containing correspondingly prefabricated explosive charge bodies, which are then joined together to form the total charge during an assembly or laboratory process.
  • the explosive charge modules are structurally closed systems, which in turn each contain a corresponding part of the total explosive charge and in total form the total explosive charge.
  • the charge chamber of the high-explosive grenade is divided by a series of horizontal aperture into several chambers, which in turn are closed by the panels. Explosive charge modules are not shown here.
  • the total cost of producing the warheads can be reduced. Due to the relatively low net explosive masses, for example for the production of explosive compacts, lower safety regulations must be observed than in the production of a warhead, in which the entire explosive charge is introduced into the warhead casing and then pressed.
  • the prefabricated explosive devices are assembled after appropriate control using a cargo-like structure of the projectile shell to complete warhead or explosive projectile.
