This naturally means that the driving assembly for powering the pulley of the upper pulley block is exposed to weather conditions and possible mechanical damages. Since such pulley is usually driven by means of a hydraulic motor, various hydraulic connectors and hoses are present on the external surface of the winch frame, which are then also exposed to previously mentioned risks.
- the invention refers to a forestry winch with improved coiling and decoiling of a towing cable.
- Such winch comprises a frame, in which a rotatable winding drum is embedded, which is preferably driven by means of a Cardan shaft of each disposable tractor and controlled by means of a coupling and a brake, on which a towing cable is wound, as well as an upper pulley block, which is attached to said winch frame, and a directing assembly, which is arranged within the interior of said winch frame.
- Said towing cable extends from the winding drum via the directing assembly, via the upper pulley block and optionally via a further pulley block located below said upper pulley block, towards each load, wherein the directing assembly is arranged between the winding drum and the upper pulley block, namely above the winding drum and below the upper pulley block, which is in the area of its casing fixedly attached in the top area of the winch frame on the external surface thereof and comprises a freely rotatable pulley, which is rotatable around the horizontal geometric axis, and wherein said directing assembly is arranged within the winch frame and is freely pivotal, at least at each desired angle, around the vertical axis, which preferably coincides with the previously mentioned vertical axis of the upper pulley block, and is mechanically interconnected either with the upper pulley block or optionally directly with the winch frame.
- Said directing assembly comprises a casing, within which two pulleys are embedded, which are each per se rotatable around their rotation axles, wherein said axles of the pulleys are arranged to extend in the horizontal direction and parallel to each other, wherein the distance between the rotation axis of the lower pulley and said vertical axis of the directing assembly is larger than the distance between the rotation axis of the upper pulley and said vertical axis. Consequently, said pulleys are adapted for guiding the towing cable from the upper pulley block along said vertical axis of the directing means towards the upper pulley and then via the lower pulley towards the winding drum, or in the opposite direction.
- the rotation axis of the upper pulley block is arranged in such manner that a tangent to the upper pulley block coincides with said vertical geometric axis of the directing assembly, while the sections of the towing cable, namely towards the upper pulley block extending section and towards the lower pulley extending section of the towing cable, are arranged at obtuse angle between 100° and 170°, preferably between 120° and 150°, when observed towards the axis of the upper pulley.
- the invention provides that at least one of said pulleys of the directing assembly is conceived as a driving pulley block, which is capable to drive the towing cable in the area of the directing assembly, and that the pulley in the upper pulley block is freely rotatable around its horizontal geometric axis.

- each driving pulley is powered by means of a hydraulic motor. It is particularly preferred, if each driving pulley is powered by means of a hydraulic motor and via a suitable transmission means with appropriate transmission ratio, in particular e.g. via a chain transmission.

- a forestry winch with improved coiling and decoiling of a towing cable 2 comprises a not-shown frame, in which a rotatable winding drum 1 (Fig. 1) is embedded, which is driven by means of a not shown Cardan shaft of each accompanied tractor and controlled by means of a not shown coupling as well as of a not shown brake, on which a towing cable 2 is wound, as well as an upper pulley block 3, which is attached to said frame, and a directing assembly 4, which is arranged within the interior of said frame.
- Said directing assembly 4 is essentially intended for directing of said towing cable 2 during winding thereof onto said winding drum 1 , so that the windings are arranged closely to each other i.e. without and gap between them and in particular without overlapping, which could lead to destroying of the towing cable 2.
- Said towing cable 2 extends from the winding drum 1 via the directing assembly 4, the upper pulley block 3 and optionally via a further pulley block, which is located below said upper pulley block 3, towards each load, which is not shown in the drawing, wherein the directing assembly 4 is arranged between the winding drum 1 and the upper pulley block 3, namely above the winding drum 1 and below the upper pulley block 3, which is in the area of its casing 31 fixedly attached in the top area of the winch frame on the external surface thereof and in the shown embodiment comprises a freely rotatable pulley 32, which is rotatable around the horizontal geometric axis 30.
- Said directing assembly 4 is arranged within the winch frame and is freely pivotal, at least at each desired angle, around the vertical axis 40, which preferably coincides with the previously mentioned vertical axis 30 of the upper pulley block 3, and is mechanically interconnected either with the upper pulley block 3 or optionally directly with the winch frame.
- said directing assembly comprises a casing 41, within which two pulleys 44, 45 are embedded, which are each per se rotatable around their rotation axles 440, 450.
- Said axles 440, 450 of the pulleys 44, 45 are arranged in the horizontal direction and parallel to each other, wherein the distance between the rotation axis 450 of the lower pulley 45 and said vertical axis 40 of the directing assembly 4 is larger than the distance between the rotation axis 440 of the upper pulley 44 and said vertical axis 40. Consequently, said pulleys 44, 45 are adapted for guiding the towing cable 2 from the upper pulley block 3 along said vertical axis 40 of the directing means 4 towards the upper pulley 44 and then via the lower pulley 45 towards the winding drum 1 , or in the opposite direction.
- the rotation axis 440 of the upper pulley block 4 is arranged in such manner that a tangent to the upper pulley block 44 coincides with said vertical geometric axis 40 of the directing assembly 4, and the sections 21, 22 of the towing cable 2, namely the section 22 extending towards the upper pulley block 3 and towards the lower pulley 45 extending section 21 of the towing cable 2, are arranged at obtuse angle (a) between 100° and 170°, preferably between 120° and 150°, when observed towards the axis 440 of the upper pulley 44.
- the forestry winch according to the invention is further characterized by the fact that one of said pulleys 44, 45 of the directing assembly 4 is conceived as a driving pulley block, which is capable to drive the towing cable 2 in the area of the directing assembly 4. Consequently, the pulley 32 of the upper pulley block 3 is freely rotatable around its axis 320, which leads to essential simplification of said upper pulley block 3 and to reduction of the number of those components of the winch, which are arranged outside of the winch frame and exposed to external influences and the possibility of being mechanically damaged.
- the upper pulley 44 of the directing assembly 4 is foreseen to be a driving pulley.
- At least one pressing roller 46, 47 is arranged adjacent to said driving pulley 44, 45 and can be pressed in radial direction towards said pulley 44, 45.
- two pressing rollers 46, 47 are arranged adjacent to the upper pulley 44, which are arranged apart from each other and parallel to each other, and can be simultaneously pressed in radial direction towards the upper pulley 44.
- two pressing rollers 46, 46 which are arranged adjacent to the upper pulley 44 and apart from each other and parallel to each other, are embedded on a common bearing member 48, each of them on the one side of the rotation axis 40 of the directing assembly 4, wherein said bearing member 48 is by means of a hydraulic cylinder 8 and optionally via at least one lever displaceable towards the upper pulley 44.
- each driving pulley 44, 45 is powered by means of a hydraulic motor 9, in particular via a suitable transmission means 90 with appropriate transmission ratio, e.g. via a chain transmission.
