Da in dieser Leiterstellung ein Drehmoment vom oberen Leiterabschnitt auf den unteren Leiterabschnitt im Sinne eines Ausschwenkens in die Strecklage ausgeübt wird, muss für eine entsprechende Verlagerungsmöglichkeit der Bodenabstützung des unteren Leiterabschnitts gesorgt werden. Aus Sicherheitsgründen und zur Erleichterung der Benutzung kann im oberen Ausstiegsbereich der Leiter wenigstens ein Griffholm vorgesehen werden. Damit dieser Griffholm automatisch aus einer abgeschwenkten Ruhelage in eine anschlagbegrenzte Gebrauchslage verlagert werden kann, kann der Griffholm auf der in der Konsole gelagerten Lagerwelle für den oberen Leiterabschnitt seitlich des Leiterabschnitts frei drehbar gelagert werden und mit einem Mitnehmer des oberen Leiterabschnitts zusammenwirken, sodass der Griffholm beim Verschwenken der Leiter in die Arbeitsstellung in seine Gebrauchsstellung gegen einen der Konsole zugehörigen Drehanschlag verlagert und in dieser Gebrauchsstellung festgehalten wird, bis die Leiter wieder in die Ruhestellung verschwenkt wird. Der Griffholm wird dabei aufgrund eines Gewichtsmoments oder über einen gesonderten Mitnehmeranschlag des oberen Leiterabschnitts in seine Gebrauchsstellung zurückbewegt.
