Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung und ein Verfahren zur Montage von Klebeband auf zylindrische Kƶrper wie beispielsweise zylindrische Flexodruckformen.The invention relates to a device and a method for mounting adhesive tape on cylindrical bodies such as cylindrical flexographic printing plates.

Bei einer zylindrischen Flexodruckform ist der Druckzylinder der Druckmaschine im gesamten Umfang mit einer Druckschicht bzw. einem Druckrelief versehen. Prinzipiell kann dazu der eigentliche Druckzylinder der Druckmaschine selbst mit einer vollstƤndig umhĆ¼llenden Druckschicht versehen werden. Diese Vorgehensweise hat jedoch den Nachteil, dass beim Wechsel der Druckform unter UmstƤnden der gesamte Druckzylinder ausgetauscht werden muss, was sich als aufwendig gestalten kann. Ɯblich ist daher die Verwendung sogenannter Sleeves. Bei einem Sleeve handelt es sich um einen zylindrischen Hohlkƶrper, auch als HĆ¼lse bezeichnet, der auf seiner ƤuƟeren ZylinderflƤche mit einer Druckschicht bzw. einem Druckrelief versehen worden ist. Die Sleeve-Technik ermƶglicht einen sehr schnellen und einfachen Wechsel der Druckform. Der Innendurchmesser der Sleeves entspricht dem AuƟendurchmesser des Druckzylinders, so dass die Sleeves einfach Ć¼ber den Druckzylinder der Druckmaschine geschoben werden kƶnnen. Das doppelseitige Klebeband weist dabei Ć¼blicherweise druckelastische Eigenschaften auf, um den sogenannten "Dot-gain", einen unerwĆ¼nschten Effekt beim Flexodruck, zu verringern oder zu vermeiden. Der Dot-gain resultiert daraus, dass die druckenden FlƤchen der Druckschicht bzw. des Druckreliefs beim Flexodruck erhaben sind. Das heiƟt, es sind im Allgemeinen kegelstumpffƶrmige Druckpunkte vorhanden, die sich durch die beim Druckvorgang auftretenden KrƤfte elastisch verbreitern. Dies fĆ¼hrt direkt zu einer Verbreiterung des gedruckten Punktes, d.h. einem "Dot-gain". Um diesen unerwĆ¼nschten Effekt zu vermeiden, werden die Druckplatten nicht direkt auf dem Druckzylinder bzw. dem Sleeve befestigt, sondern es wird eine elastische bzw. kompressible Zwischenschicht vorgesehen, die sich beim Druckvorgang elastisch verformt und damit den Dot-gain, welcher zu QualitƤtseinbuƟen des Druckes fĆ¼hren kann, verringert. Ɯblicherweise Ć¼bernimmt das doppelseitige Klebeband die Funktion der elastischen bzw. kompressiblen Zwischenschicht, indem es Ć¼ber eine gewisse MaterialstƤrke und druckelastische Eigenschaften verfĆ¼gt. Dementsprechend weisen geeignete KlebebƤnder Ć¼blicherweise einen Schaumstoffkern auf. Somit ergeben sich hohe Anforderungen an den Vorgang des Anbringens des Klebebands an den Druckzylinder bzw. den Sleeve. ZunƤchst ist sicherzustellen, dass die AdhƤsionswirkung zwischen der nach innen gewandten KlebeflƤche des Klebebands und der OberflƤche des Druckzylinders bzw. des Sleeves gleichfƶrmig und von ausreichender IntensitƤt ist. Der Anpressdruck beim Aufbringen des Klebebands auf den Druckzylinder bzw. den Sleeve muss also Ć¼ber die gesamte FlƤche gleichmƤƟig und wohldosiert sein. Ferner ist aufgrund der MaterialstƤrke des Klebebands sicherzustellen, dass bei der UmhĆ¼llung des Druckzylinders bzw. des Sleeves weder ein grĆ¶ĆŸerer Spalt an den StoƟkanten des Klebebands verbleibt, noch dass das Klebeband an den StoƟkanten Ć¼berlappt und damit einen hervorstehenden Wulst an der ZylinderoberflƤche bildet.
Aus den genannten GrĆ¼nden wird das Klebeband im Regelfall von Hand bzw. mit einem erheblichen Anteil von Handarbeit aufgebracht, was einerseits zeitaufwendig und damit teuer, und andererseits fehleranfƤllig ist.

Mit der Erfindung ist es mƶglich, ein Klebeband weitgehend oder vollstƤndig automatisch auf Zylinder oder zylindrische Kƶrper verschiedener Durchmesser aufzubringen.
Ein "Zylinder" im Sinne der Erfindung bezeichnet einen Kƶrper, der von zwei parallelen KreisflƤchen (Grund- und DeckflƤche) und einer Mantel- bzw. ZylinderflƤche, die von parallelen Geraden gebildet wird, begrenzt wird.
Ein "zylindrischer Kƶrper" im Sinne der Erfindung bezeichnet einen Kƶrper, dessen Gestalt weitgehend der Form eines Zylinders entspricht, bei dem jedoch insbesondere die Grund- und die DeckflƤche entfallen kƶnnen. Vom Begriff "zylindrischer Kƶrper" sind insoweit nicht nur Zylinder im obigen Sinne, sondern auch HĆ¼lsen sowie Hohlzylinder umfasst.
"Klebeband" im Sinne der Erfindung ist eine Sammelbezeichnung fĆ¼r ein- oder beidseitig mit Klebstoffen beschichtete TrƤger. KlebebƤnder sind in einer groƟen Vielzahl von Formen bekannt und im Markt erhƤltlich. Typische TrƤgermaterialien sind Kunststofffolien wie beispielsweise Polypropylen, Polyethylen, Polyethylenterephthalat, Polyvinylchlorid oder Acetat-Folie, Papier, Metallfolien, GewebetrƤger wie Textilgewebe und SchaumtrƤgermaterialien. Bevorzugte TrƤgermaterialien im Zusammenhang mit der Herstellung von zylindrischen Flexodruckformen sind SchaumtrƤgermaterialien, beispielsweise aus geschlossenzelligem Schaum aus Polyethylen oder einem Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Copolymer, optional ein- oder beidseitig mit einem nicht geschƤumten Polyethylenfilm befilmt, die dem Klebeband druckelastische oder kompressible Eigenschaften verleihen. Der TrƤger kann einseitig oder beidseitig mit Klebstoff beschichtet sein. Die Klebstoffe zur Herstellung von KlebebƤndern kƶnnen aus einer groƟen Vielzahl gebrƤuchlicher Materialien ausgewƤhlt werden. Es kann sich z. B. um SIS-Kautschuke, SBS-Kautschuke, Polyisobutylene, Polyisoprene, Polyacrylate und Naturkautschuke, gegebenenfalls unter Zumischung klebrig machender natĆ¼rlicher und/oder synthetischer Harze handeln.
Die Vorrichtung zum Aufbringen von Klebeband auf eine ZylinderflƤche eines zylindrischen Kƶrpers umfasst im Wesentlichen zumindest zwei horizontal achsparallel ausgerichtete Fixierrollen, die dazu geeignet sind, die ZylinderflƤche des zylindrischen Kƶrpers zu kontaktieren; eine KlebebandzufĆ¼hrung zum ZufĆ¼hren von Klebeband an den zylindrischen Kƶrper; sowie Mittel, um den zylindrischen Kƶrper in Drehung um seine Zylinderachse zu versetzen.
Die Fixierrollen sind bevorzugt durchgehend gleichfƶrmige Rollen mit kreisrundem Querschnitt, die sich in Richtung ihrer Rollenachse mindestens Ć¼ber die gesamte LƤnge des zu beklebenden zylindrischen Kƶrpers erstrecken. Die Fixierrollen sind drehbar gelagert, beispielsweise durch drehbare Lagerung ihrer Achsen. Die Fixierrollen sind bevorzugt zumindest wƤhrend des Beklebens des zylindrischen Kƶrpers in einem Abstand zueinander angeordnet, der geringer ist als der Zylinderdurchmesser des zu beklebenden zylindrischen Kƶrpers. Zwei oder mehr Fixierrollen kƶnnen damit ein Rollenbett bilden, in welchem der zu beklebende zylindrische Kƶrper aufliegen und aufgrund seines Eigengewichts gehalten werden kann.
Bevorzugt ist zumindest eine der Fixierrollen versetzbar in eine oder mehrere Richtungen orthogonal zu ihrer Rollenachse gelagert. Dies erlaubt es, den Abstand der Fixierrollen zueinander zu variieren, beispielsweise um die relative Position der Fixierrollen zueinander dem jeweiligen Zylinderdurchmesser des zu beklebenden zylindrischen Kƶrpers anzupassen. Ferner kann durch ein Versetzen der Fixierrollen zueinander der zu beklebende zylindrische Kƶrper wahlweise gehalten oder freigegeben werden. Insbesondere wird es dadurch auch ermƶglicht, einen Anpressdruck der Fixierrollen an den zylindrischen Kƶrper zu erzeugen und nach Bedarf einzustellen.
Zumindest wƤhrend des Beklebens des zylindrischen Kƶrpers beaufschlagen die Fixierrollen den zylindrischen Kƶrper mit einem Anpressdruck. Dies kann einerseits durch das Eigengewicht des zylindrischen Kƶrpers erfolgen, indem er auf zumindest zwei Fixierrollen aufliegt. Bevorzugt wird der Anpressdruck jedoch dadurch erzeugt und gesteuert, dass zumindest drei Fixierrollen zum Einsatz kommen, die um den Zylinderumfang des zylindrischen Kƶrpers herum angeordnet sind und diesen gegeneinander einklemmen. Bevorzugt bilden daher die Achsenpositionen der drei oder mehr Fixierrollen im Profil ein Dreieck oder Vieleck, in dessen DreiecksflƤche oder VielecksflƤche sich die Achsenposition des zylindrischen Kƶrpers befindet. Der zylindrische Kƶrper kann damit zwischen den drei oder mehr Fixierrollen effektiv eingeklemmt werden, wobei eine Bewegung der Rollen aufeinander zu den Druck auf den zylindrischen Kƶrper erhƶht.
Durch den Anpressdruck, den die Fixierrollen auf den zylindrischen Kƶrper ausĆ¼ben, ist es aufgrund vorhandener Reibung zwischen den OberflƤchen der Fixierrollen und des zylindrischen Kƶrpers mƶglich, durch Drehung einer oder mehrerer der Fixierrollen den zylindrischen Kƶrper in Rotation um seine Zylinderachse zu versetzen. Hierzu ist es vorteilhaft, zumindest eine der Fixierrollen mit einem Antrieb zu versehen.

Claims (15)

  1. Device (10) for applying adhesive tape (40) to a cylindrical surface (21) of a cylindrical body (20), comprising:
    at least two horizontal axially parallel securing rolls (30a, 30b), disposed in order to make contact with the cylindrical surface (21) of the cylindrical body (20) with their respective lateral surfaces;
    an adhesive tape feed for feeding adhesive tape to the cylindrical body (20);
    means for setting the cylindrical body (20) into rotation about its cylindrical axis; and
    an insertion and ejection mechanism (60) that allows a displacing of the cylindrical body (20) along the extent of the roll axes of the securing rolls (30) or the cylindrical axis of the cylindrical body (20),
    wherein the cylindrical body (20) can be moved away from the insertion and ejection mechanism (60).
  2. The Device (10) according to claim 1, wherein at least one of the securing rolls serves as guide roll (30c) for the adhesive tape (40) that is fed in, wherein the adhesive tape (40) covers the guide roll (30c) in a section corresponding to a central angle from about 1Ā° to about 270Ā°, preferably from about 45Ā° to about 210Ā°, especially from about 90Ā° to about 180Ā°.
  3. The Device (10) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the movement of the cylindrical body (20) away from the insertion and ejection mechanism (60) is brought about by one or more securing rolls moving up against the cylindrical body (20) and by the cylindrical body (20) lying on at least one securing roll (30).
  4. The Device (10) according to claim 3, wherein the movement of the cylindrical body (20) away from the insertion and ejection mechanism (60) is brought about by a movement of the insertion and ejection mechanism (60) away from the cylindrical body (20), so the cylindrical body (20) lies on one or more securing rolls (30).
  5. The Device (10) according to one of the preceding claims, further comprising a sectioning facility (50) for cutting at least partially through the adhesive tape (40).
  6. The Device (10) according to one of the preceding claims, comprising at least three axially parallel securing rolls (30), which are disposed around the cylindrical body (20) in such a way that they can pinch said cylindrical body (20) between themselves.
  7. The Device (10) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein at least one of the securing rolls (30) is mounted moveably in one or more directions orthogonally to its roll axis.
  8. The Device (10) according to claim 7, further comprising means for recording and controlling the pressure of the at least one movable securing roll (30) on the cylindrical body (20).
  9. The Device (10) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein at least one of the securing rolls (30) is equipped with a drive that is suitable for setting the securing roll (30) into rotation about its roll axis.
  10. Method for applying adhesive tape (40) to a cylindrical surface (21) of a cylindrical body (20), by means of a device according to one of the claims 1-9, comprising:
    (a) inserting the cylindrical body (20) by means of the insertion and ejection mechanism (60);
    (b) contacting the cylindrical surface (21) of the cylindrical body (20) with the respective lateral surface of at least two horizontal axially parallel securing rolls (30a, 30b);
    (c) moving the cylindrical body (20) away from the insertion and extraction mechanism (60);
    (d) applying the adhesive tape (40) to the cylindrical surface (21) of the cylindrical body (20); and
    (e) winding the adhesive tape (40) onto the cylindrical body (20) by means of rotation of the cylindrical body (20) about its cylindrical axis.
  11. The method according to claim 10, wherein at least one of the securing rolls (30) serves as guide roll (30c) for the adhesive tape (40) that is fed in, wherein the adhesive tape (40) is passed around the guide roll (30c) in a section corresponding to a central angle from about 1Ā° to about 270Ā°, preferably from about 45Ā° to about 210Ā°, especially from about 90Ā° to about 180Ā°.
  12. The method according to one of the claims 10-11, wherein, in step (c), the insertion and extraction mechanism (60) can be moved away from the cylindrical body (20).
  13. The method according to one of the claims 10-12, further comprising at least partially cutting-through the adhesive tape (40) by means of a sectioning facility (50).
  14. The method according to one of the claims 10-13, further comprising - before the contacting step and/or after the winding step - the displacing of the cylindrical body (20) along the extent of the roll axes of the securing rolls (30) or the cylindrical axis of the cylindrical body (20) by means of a insertion and ejection mechanism (60).
  15. The method according to one of the claims 10-14, wherein contact with the cylindrical surface (21) of the cylindrical body (20) is made by at least three axially parallel securing rolls (30), which are disposed around the cylindrical circumference of the cylindrical body (20) in such a way that they pinch this cylindrical body (20) between themselves.
