The DE 1 164 532 A shows a reversible contact element for electrical plug devices with a plug side and a connection side. The connection side is designed as a simple soldering lug. At the formed as a tab Lötfahne an electrical conductor to be contacted can be soldered.

From the DE 1 135 072 B is a flat contact element for electrical plug-in devices known that is brought together for the purpose of producing the connector with its mating contact element at an angle of 90 °. The designed as a bent metal part contact element know on its connection side on several metal tabs, which are provided for squeezing a connected electrical conductor.

In this case, the contact element on its connection side on a line connection part, which is provided for a crimp connection with a connected line. US 2007/287323 A1 discloses a contact element according to the preamble of claim 1. Such crimp connections have been found to be particularly advantageous. The connection side of the contact element is particularly simple and inexpensive to manufacture and at the same time a contact with a corresponding crimping tool can be made anywhere easy and fast. This offers, especially against a soldered connection like in the DE 1 164 532 A described above, a particular advantage in the flexibility of mounting and connecting a conductor to the contact elements.

A disadvantage of known from the prior art alternative solutions to Lötanschlüssen that they are not suitable for aluminum conductors. Aluminum is known to oxidize in the air immediately. The oxide layer forming on the aluminum during the oxidation inhibits the electrical conductivity.

The contacting of an electrical conductor, which consists of aluminum, is therefore not sufficient with the known from the prior art connection options. By crimping the electrical conductor is crushed and pressed the oxide layer between the electrical conductor and the terminal side of the electrical contact.

Especially in the contacting of aluminum conductors, which consist of a variety of fine strands, a good electrical contact due to the many oxide layers on the individual strands can no longer be ensured.

Aufgabenstellungtask

The object of the invention is to design an electrical contact element such that a secure and electrically conductive contacting of aluminum conductors can be ensured.

The object is solved by the characterizing features of independent claim 1.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

The invention relates to an electrical contact element which is provided for contacting and electrical connection of an electrical conductor. Suitably, the electrical contact element has a plug side and a connection side.

The mating side of the electrical contact element is - as already well known in the art - designed as a pin contact or socket contact. By merging an electrical contact element with pin contact and another with female contact so an electrically conductive connector can be made.

The connection side of the electrical contact element is shaped as a sleeve-shaped and forms a connection sleeve. In this connection sleeve, an electrical conductor can be inserted and be squeezed by means of a so-called crimping tool in the connection sleeve. This type of crimping connection is well known in the art.

The present invention is specifically intended for electrical conductors made of aluminum and having a plurality of strands. For this, the electrical contact element has a splicing element which is provided in the connection sleeve of the electrical contact element. The splice element consists of at least two splice segments, which are arranged distributed on the inside of the connection sleeve, over the circumference thereof.

The splice segments are radially inwardly directed, tapered elements. A type of wedge shape is particularly advantageous. The purpose of the splice segments is to penetrate between the individual strands of an inserted electrical conductor during the crimping process.

When penetrating between the individual strands of an aluminum conductor, the splice segments break the oxide layer which has formed on each individual strand of the conductor. This ensures good electrical contacting of the individual strands.

In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the surfaces of the splice segments are provided with a rough surface. This rough surface is particularly good for breaking up the oxide layer on the strands.

Depending on the design and diameter of the electrical contact element, the splice element can have a different number of splice segments. For example, a splice element with six splice segments is particularly advantageous.

In a performance variant, the splice segments are made in one piece directly with the connection sleeve. These can be arranged, for example, as formed on the inner surface wedges in the connection sleeve. When crimping or crimping an electrical conductor in the ferrule, the splice segments are pressed between the individual strands of the conductor.

A further advantageous embodiment provides to form the splice element as a separate component. In this case, the splice element has a base on which the individual splice segments are formed. Preferably, the splice element is to be positioned in the connection sleeve such that the base is pushed forward into the connection sleeve and the splice segments protrude from the interior in the direction of the open end of the connection sleeve, but are still accommodated in the connection sleeve.

When assembling such an electrical contact element with a separate splice element, it is provided to first push the splice element over the exposed strands of the electrical conductor. The splicing element fans out the individual strands so that they spread between the splitting segments.

Subsequently, the end of the electrical conductor can be pushed together with the plugged splice in the connection sleeve. By squeezing the connection sleeve with a pair of pliers or a special crimping tool, the splice segments then continue driven between the strands. As a result, the oxide layer is broken on the surface of the strands and ensures electrical contacting of a plurality of strands.

In a preferred embodiment of the electrical contact element with a separate splice element, a fastening means is provided which serves to fix the splice element in the connection sleeve. For this purpose, a connecting bore between the plug side and the connection side is introduced in the electrical contact element, through which the fastening means can act on the splicing element.

It is useful here to use a screw as a fastener. This can be pushed from the direction of the plug side through the connecting hole and engage in a corresponding thread in the base of the splice element. Pulling out the splice element from the connection sleeve is thus prevented.

In a further embodiment, it is provided to introduce grooves on the outer surface of the connecting sleeve, which run around the connecting sleeve. These are for display to the user to indicate where to use a crimp or crimp tool. Due to the splice segments a regular arrangement of the crimping points is important to ensure the best possible electrical contact.

An additional, advantageous embodiment provides for providing at least one marking on the outer surface of the connecting sleeve. This marking is used to align a crimping tool. Crimping tools usually consist of several jaws, which act on the object to be crimped. Since it is not possible to apply uniform force over the entire circumference, in some sections force is introduced.

As a result, either dents are pressed into the contact element, or from e.g. a round shape a polygon is pressed. Thus, a force is introduced from the connecting sleeve to the inner conductor at several points and this fixed so.

In order to center this force, which is not uniformly introduced over the entire circumference, as far as possible on the splice segments, the marking is provided. This is arranged so that with appropriate application of the crimping tool, the maximum force is introduced to the splice segments.

In order for the marking provided in the embodiment to also be provided at the correct location on the connecting sleeve, the splicing element must be insertable against rotation in the connecting sleeve. This can be realized both via an additional hole in the connection sleeve and a pin or a screw, which engages through the hole in a recess in the base of the splice element.

Also conceivable would be a guide groove in cooperation with a guide spring, which are provided in splice element and inner surface of the connection sleeve. In this case, both the groove in the splice element and the spring on the connection sleeve, as well as a reverse solution may be provided.

Furthermore, it is advantageous to provide the entire inner surface of the connection sleeve with a rough to sharp-edged surface. Thus, when squeezing or crimping the ferrule, the strands of a conductor can be roughened and the oxide layer can be broken, which are not in direct contact with the splice segments.

In a specific embodiment of the electrical contact element according to the invention, have the splice segments of the splice element a particularly advantageous form. The splice segments are wider in the region of the opening of the connecting sleeve than in the area facing the plug side.

The purpose of this form of splice segments is that the individual strands of an electrical conductor are more strongly squeezed in the region of the connection sleeve opening than in the area facing the plug side. If a force acts on a fixed electrical conductor pulling it out of the connection sleeve, the strands of the electrical conductor form a plug in the area on the plug side, which can only be pulled through the narrower, rear area with difficulty.

The invention relates to an electrical contact element for contacting an electrical stranded conductor, wherein the electrical contact element has a connection side and a plug side. For better electrical contacting of an electrical stranded conductor, a splicing element is provided in a connection sleeve forming the connection side.

The splice element is designed to fan out the individual strands of the conductor, to contact the largest possible surface of the individual strands and to injure the surface of the strands in a crimping or crimping operation. The invention provides a secure, electrical contacting of stranded conductors, in which a non-contacting, poorly conductive surface of the individual strands is penetrated.

The FIG. 1 shows an electrical contact element 1 in a longitudinal section along the longitudinal axis A. Here, a plug side 2 of the electrical contact element 1 is shown in the right area. In the left area a sleeve-shaped connection side 3 is shown. The sleeve-shaped connection side 3 is formed by a connection sleeve 4.

According to the present invention, a splice element 10 is provided inside the connection sleeve 4. The splice element 10 essentially has a base 12, as well as a plurality of splice segments 11. The base 12 is provided at the rearmost area in the connection sleeve 4.

To prevent falling out of the splice element 10, this is fixed by means of a fastening means 13 - here a screw - in the electrical contact element. In the specific embodiment shown, the screw is guided from the plug side 2 through a bore 5 in the electrical contact element 4 and screwed into the base 12 of the splice element 10.

The splice segments 11 of the splice element 10 are directed away from the base 12 in the connection sleeve 4. Advantageously, the splice segments 11 extend over almost the entire length of the connection sleeve 4. In the embodiment shown here-as well as all other figures-the splice element 10 has six splice segments 11.

In the middle region of the splicing element 10, where the splice segments 11 are attached to the base 12, it can be seen that the material thickness is smaller here than the splicing segments 11 themselves. This advantageously serves for a high flexibility of the splice segments 11 to the base 12.

In the FIG. 2 is the electrical contact element 1 as in FIG. 1 shown again. However, without the splice element 10. Here, the bore 5, which connects the plug side 2 of the electrical contact element 1 to the connection side 3, can be seen better.

Inside the connection sleeve 4 is in the FIG. 2 to recognize a thread-like contour on the inside 18. This advantageously sharp-edged contour also serves to break up oxide layers on inserted strands. The formation of a thread-like contour is to be regarded as merely exemplary. All other types of sharp-edged contours are suitable and appropriate.

On the outside of the connecting sleeve 4 four flat grooves 17 can be seen here. These are used to identify the crimping areas. These grooves 17 indicate to the user at which points a crimping or squeezing tool is to be applied.

FIG. 3 shows an electrical contact element 1 with splice element 10 in a spatial representation with a view of the connection side 3. Also visible here are the four running around the connection sleeve 4 grooves 17, which serve as a marking for a crimping or crimping tool.

In addition, three flats 6 can be seen between the grooves 17. These also serve as a marking for a crimping or crimping tool. In contrast to the grooves 17, however, not for the position along the electrical contact element 1, but for the angular position of the tool in the crimping area.

If a corresponding crimping tool, which is adapted with its crimping jaws to the number of splice segments 11, is used, the flattening 6 marks the position of a splicing segment 11 in the connecting sleeve 4. Thus, the maximum force and crushing of the crimping tool can act exactly on the positions behind which in each case a splice segment 11 is located.

The FIG. 4 shows a splice element 10 in a spatial representation. As already in FIG. 1 to recognize the splice element 10 consists of a base 12 from which the splice segments 11, 11 ', 11 ", 11"', 11 "", 11 '"" extend axially away.

In the base 12, a thread 19 can be seen which serves to fix the splice element 10 by means of a screw as a fastening means 13 in an electrical contact element 1.

The splice segments 11 are chamfered in the connection-side region on its inner side in order to simplify the attachment of the splice element 10 to the strands of an electrical conductor 20.

In the base 12, the splice element 10 has a bore 16. The bore 16 is formed in the illustrated embodiment as a lateral slot. This serves to hold the splice element 10 in the receiving sleeve 4 against rotation. For this purpose, a further fastening element can be pushed into a bore 15 in the receiving sleeve 4. When the fastener is passed through the bore 15 into the bore 16, a rotation of the splice element 10 in the receiving sleeve 4 is prevented.

FIG. 5 shows an electrical contact element 1 with inserted electrical Ladder 20 in a sectional view. In this case, the section of the view extends transversely through the electrical contact element. 1

Visible is the receiving sleeve 4, as well as the splice segments 11, 11 ', 11 ", 11"', 11 "", 11 "" 'received therein, which are distributed on the inner surface 18 of the receiving sleeve 4 over its circumference.

In the further, inner region of the receiving sleeve 4 many individual strands are shown, which together form the inserted, electrical conductor 20. The individual strands are distributed between the Splleißsegementen 11, so that advantageously a majority of the individual strands is in contact with one of the splice segments 11. The more individual strands are in contact with the splice segments 11 or the inner surface 18, the higher is the later electrical contact.

Moreover, in the FIG. 5 the flattening 6 recognizable. This serves - as already mentioned - to mark a crimping or crimping tool. The flattening 6 is expediently located directly outside a splice segment.
