L'invention concerne un appareil de froid domestique (1) muni d'au moins un battant de porte (2, 3), qui est monté de façon à pouvoir pivoter, par l'intermédiaire d'au moins une charnière de porte (5a, 5b, 5c), entre une position de fermeture fermant un compartiment de stockage de l'appareil de froid domestique (1) et une position d'ouverture dégageant ledit compartiment, la charnière de porte (5a, 5b, 5c) étant conçue pour permettre un montage du battant de porte (2, 3) dans une première position avec ouverture à gauche et dans une seconde position avec ouverture à droite, et d'une ferrure de fermeture de porte (6, 7) qui comprend une partie de fixation (13), qui est conçue pour permettre un montage de la ferrure de fermeture de porte (6, 7) avec ouverture aussi bien à gauche qu'à droite sur au moins une face frontale (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) du battant de porte (2, 3), et qui comprend une partie ressort (14), qui est conçue pour déplacer le battant de porte (2, 3) vers la position de fermeture, la partie de fixation (13) de la ferrure de fermeture de porte (6, 7) étant pourvue, sur deux côtés opposés, d'un évidement (15), et une pièce de jonction séparée (17) étant placée, en fonction de la position de montage de la ferrure de fermeture de porte (6, 7), de manière sélective dans l'un ou l'autre des évidements (15) sur une partie (17a) de sa hauteur par complémentarité de forme, et une partie (17b) de la pièce de jonction (17), qui fait saillie de l'évidement (15), s'emboîtant par complémentarité de forme dans une cavité (16) ménagée dans la face frontale (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) du battant de porte (2, 3) et correspondant à la position de montage respective.
