Description
The present invention relates to a sliding door for vehicles, which comprises at least one door leaf with a main closing edge and a side closing edge opposite thereto.
Sliding doors, in particular pocket sliding doors are widely used in vehicles, especially in rail vehicles such as trains, for example, in underground or overland railways. Since the first use of such sliding doors, there is a problem in that they are very difficult to seal against an air exchange between the interior of the vehicle located behind the sliding door and the external environment located in front of the sliding door. However, the more leaky a sliding door is, the worse are its acoustic and aerodynamic properties. Particularly in the case of internal guide rails, the problem described is of relevance, since the end faces of such guide rails often have leaks in the closed state of the sliding door.
The prior art knows to solve this problem already some, for example, on inflatable, circumferential seals based approaches, but which are usually very expensive.
The present invention is therefore based on the object, a simpler compared to the prior art, to provide an alternative solution for optimizing the acoustic or aerodynamic properties of a sliding door.
According to the invention, a sliding door is provided for with the technical features of claim 1, which comprises at least one door leaf through which the sliding door can be opened and closed and which has a main closing edge and a side closing edge opposite thereto. Furthermore, the sliding door comprises a guide rail for guiding the at least one door leaf, which has at least one end face and two longitudinal sides. According to the invention, the sliding door comprises a sealing element which extends along at least part of the secondary closing edge of the door leaf, wherein the sealing element extends in the direction of the guide rail beyond a first end of the secondary closing edge and is designed such that it is the guide rail in a closed state of the sliding door seals in the region of at least one end side substantially airtight, wherein the sealing element rests in the closed state of the sliding door on the end face of the guide rail. As a result, the guide rail and the area on the front side of the guide rail hermetically sealed particularly well and tight.
The advantage of such a sliding door lies in the simple sealing of the frontal, open end of the guide rail of the sliding door. The seal is based on a pot-lid principle. The attached to the minor closing edge sealing element, which may be embodied for example as a sealing rubber, forms in the closed state of the sliding door a lid which closes the end face of the guide rail or hermetically seals and thus prevents air exchange through the open ends of the guide rail. In such a sliding door such embodiment of the sliding door improves the acoustic or aerodynamic properties of the door.
Accordingly, the sealing element is arranged and designed such that it seals the part of the guide rail guiding the door leaf, the actual guide, airtight. In other words, the sealing element is designed such that it contacts both the secondary closing edge of the door leaf and the guide rail such that in the closed state of the sliding door, the area between the door leaf and the guide rail is hermetically sealed at the secondary closing edge or completely closed by the sealing element.
Particularly preferably, the sealing element in a closed state of the sliding door seals the guide rail in the region of its at least one end face airtight. In such an embodiment, the aerodynamic and acoustic properties of the sliding door are even further improved. Thus, a noise in the region of the end face of the guide rail is prevented or reduced. The sealing element thus acts or forms a sealing bulkhead in the region of the end face of the guide rail.
The main closing edge is preferably the edge of the door leaf facing the sliding door opening when the sliding door is open. Accordingly, the secondary closing edge is preferably the edge of the door leaf which is remote from the sliding door opening in the opened state of the sliding door.
Further preferably, the sealing element seals the end face of the guide rail of the sliding door against air exchange between the interior of the vehicle and the external environment of the vehicle from airtight. Preferably, the end face of the guide rail is an edge or side of the guide rail oriented perpendicular to the guide direction of the guide rail.
Preferably, the guide rail is made in one piece. Preferably, the guide rail is thus as a coherent Part or piece formed. In such an embodiment, the mounting of the guide rail and thus the sliding door is possible in a simplified manner. The seal on the front side of the guide rail can be done easily in such an embodiment.
