- the present invention relates to a burner assembly comprising a pilot burner device, a main burner device concentrically surrounding the pilot burner device and at least one resonator, wherein the main burner device has a burner hub which is provided along its outer circumference with a plurality of blades having swirl and at least one gas ring space fluidically connected to at least one gas supply line defined, which is connected via outlet openings fluidly formed in the blades gas channels.
- Burner arrangements of the type mentioned above are known in the prior art in different configurations. They serve to burn gaseous fuels and are used for example in gas turbines. During operation of a burner arrangement, thermoacoustically induced combustion oscillations occur in the combustion chamber. These can excite components of the burner assembly to vibrate. If a stimulating oscillation coincides with a resonant frequency of the burner arrangement or its components, components can be destroyed. The excitation of the burner assembly and its components in the range of such resonance frequencies must be avoided accordingly.
- the present invention provides a burner assembly of the type mentioned above, which is characterized in that the at least one resonator has a resonator cavity formed in the burner hub and at least one resonator opening extending outwardly from the resonator cavity.
- An essential advantage of such a resonator is that it is arranged adjacent to the combustion chamber and thus effectively acts at the point of origin of the vibrations.
