Description

The invention relates to a tile cutter with a support surface for supporting a tile to be divided, a support frame assigned to the support frame, which is assigned to the support frame and which can be displaced from below by a slide transversely to the plane extension of the support surface in the upward direction, and a crushing element which is used to apply a refractive power is displaceable from above in the direction of the support surface.

From the DE 195 34 610 a tile cutter is known in which a tile can be placed on a support surface of a support body. With the help of a cutting tool, a notch is made in the tile, along which the tile can be divided into two parts. To break up the tile, a crushing support is placed against the underside of the tile. This is in a hole in the support body and is brought from a hidden position into a functional position by means of an eccentric disk, in which a tip protrudes over the support surface. With a crushing device, a refractive power is exerted on the tile from above, so that the tile breaks along the notch.

The ES 2 028 701 describes a crushing body which can be brought from a lowered position into a functional position along an inclined plane.

The object of the invention is to further develop the tile cutter characterized at the outset in an advantageous manner for use.

The object is achieved by a tile cutter with the features according to claim 1. Preferred developments can be found in the dependent claims.

First, it is proposed that the slide can be displaced transversely to the direction of displacement of the crushing support, the crushing support being supported in a first operating position of the slide on a first low support level and supported in a second operating position on a second higher support level. The two support levels form support surfaces that run parallel to the support surface on which the tile lies. The direction of displacement of the crushing support is perpendicular to the plane of the support surface. The two level support levels are connected to each other via an inclined surface. The crushing support can be an essentially cylindrical body with a flat underside, which in each operating position rests on a support level. By moving the slide in a parallel plane to the plane of the support surface and perpendicular to the direction of displacement of the crushing support, the crushing support can be brought vertically from a non-functional position into a functional position. An edge of a crushing body forming the crushing support slides on the inclined surface between the two support levels. During the upward displacement, a crushing rib arranged on the head side of the crushing support shifts from a non-functional position below the level of the contact surface to the functional position in which the crushing rib lies above the contact surface. A tile lying on the support surface, previously provided with a notch, for example with the aid of a cutting wheel, is slightly raised. The crushing element, which is guided along guide rails together with a cutting wheel or a differently designed cutting means, can then be lowered, which is done by pivoting a pivoting lever. A refractive power is applied to the two surface sections of the tile separated from one another by the breaking notch, so that the tile breaks along the notch. For this purpose, the crushing element is preferably designed as a crushing punch with an essentially V-shaped underside which, due to the V-shape, forms two projections spaced apart from one another and from the breaking notch, which act on the tile to be broken on both sides of the crushing rib. The tile is supported below the break notch by the broken body or its breaking rib. The crush support is lying preferably in a bore of the support body, the support body preferably being made of wood. A stop can protrude from the preferably circular cylindrical outer wall of the cylinder section of the crushing support, which engages in a recess which adjoins the bore. As a result, the crushing support is arranged non-rotatably in the bore assigned to it. A return spring is preferably provided, with which the crushing support can be moved downward. The return spring can be a compression spring which is penetrated by a retaining pin. The retaining pin is inserted with a fastening end in a recess in the crushing support. It is screwed into a threaded hole with a threaded section. The support body can be fastened to a base support formed by a square tube, which is located below the support body and extends in the direction of displacement of the slide. The return spring and the retaining pin holding it can be located in the square cavity of the base support. The slide extends between the base support and the bottom of a recess in the underside of the support body. The slider has a material thickness that corresponds at least to the difference in height between the two support levels. The two support levels or the flat surface sections forming the support levels can be arranged in an elongated recess of the slide. The material thickness of the slide, that is the plate thickness of a plate-shaped slide, is then somewhat larger than the distance between the two support levels. There can be a slot in the middle of the recess, which is penetrated by the retaining pin. This longitudinal slot divides the bevel into two partial areas and extends into the area of the support levels. A handle acts on the slide, which can move the slide transversely to the direction of displacement of the slide. The handle is accessible from the longitudinal edge of the support body. The support frame has a total of four feet with which it can be set up on a level surface.

A slide 24 is guided on the two guide rails 23 and in particular between the two guide rails 23. The carriage 24 has rollers which engage in C profiles of the guide rails 23 and are guided there. The carriage 24 carrying a cutting wheel 26 and a crushing element 5 is seated between the two guide rails 23. The cutting wheel 26 or the crushing element 5 can be displaced in the vertical direction by pivoting a handle arm 25, which is connected to the carriage 24 in a fixed but rotatable manner. In the area of one of the two narrow sides of the support body 18 there is a head stop 27 for abutment of one to be cut with the tile cutter Tile. A longitudinal stop 28 is also provided, which extends parallel to the two guide rails 23. Approximately in the middle between the two guide rails 23 there is a corner receptacle for receiving a corner of a tile into which a diagonal cut is to be made. At a distance from the head stop 27 there is also a bore 20 in the longitudinal center of the support body 18, that is to say in particular centrally between the two guide rails 23, in which there is a crusher support 2. The crushing support 2 has a cylinder section 9. The cylinder section 9 has a circular plan. The upward-facing side of the crushing support 2 forms a crushing rib 8 which extends parallel to the guide rails 23. An extension 13 projects from a circumferential wall of the cylinder section 9 and engages in a recess in the bore 20, so that the crushing support 2 lies non-rotatably in the bore 20.

One end of a retaining pin 10 is screwed into a threaded bore of the crushing support 2 which is open at the bottom. The holding pin 10 passes through the upward-facing wall of the square tube 30 and has at its other end arranged in the hollow of the square tube 30 a head on which a return spring 11 is formed, which is supported by its other end on the inner wall of the Square tube 30 supports. Against the force of the return spring 11, the crushing support 2 can be moved from a non-functional position ( Figure 10 ), in which the apex of the crushing rib 8 lies below the support surface 4, in a functional position ( Figure 11 ) are brought, in which the crushing rib 8 projects beyond the bearing surface 4.

A slide 3 is provided for shifting the crushing arm 2 between the non-functional position and the functional position. The slide 3 formed in the exemplary embodiment by a plastic plate can be displaced in a recess 19 assigned to the underside of the support body 18. It is by means of a handle 21 in a direction transverse to the direction of extension of the guide rail 23 relocatable. Fastening screws are provided which pass through a longitudinal slot of the handle 21 or pass through the longitudinal slots 16 of the slide 3. The longitudinal slots 16 of the slide 3 or the longitudinal slot of the handle 21 thus form guide slots. By means of a fastening screw 22, one end of the handle 21 is connected to a fastening opening 17 in a corner of the plate which has a rectangular plan and forms the slide 3.

The other end of the handle 21 is formed by an angled portion and is located in the region of the longitudinal edge of the support body 18.

The slide 3 has an elongated recess 14 with rounded narrow sides and straight longitudinal sides ( Figure 6 ). In the recess 14 there are two levels 6, 7, which extend along different levels of height. One level forms a lower support level 6 and the other level forms an upper support level 7. The two support levels 6, 7 are connected by means of a slope 33. The slope is a curved surface along which a lower edge of the crushing support 2 can slide when the slide 3 is moved ( Figures 5 and 8th ). The inclined surface 33 is divided into two partial surfaces by a slot 15. The slot 15 has two ends, each lying approximately in the middle of the support levels 6, 7. The slot 15 is penetrated by the retaining pin 10.

The material thickness of the slider 3, which may have a stiffening rib arrangement on its mutually facing broad side surfaces, is greater than the height difference between the two support levels 6, 7. This thickness of the slider 3 corresponds to the depth of the recess 19. The recess 19 is of the Square tube formed base spar 30 crossed. The outer wall of the base spar 30 forms a support surface for the slide 3. A downward attachment to the crushing support 2 in the vertical direction Directed force is thus conducted via the support surface 7 or the support surface 6 into the plate formed by the slide 3. The slider 3 transmits the force further into the base spar 30. The underside of the base spar 30 is spaced vertically upward on the standing surface which runs through the free ends of the feet 31. The base spar 30 thus hovers above the floor surface on which the tile cutter stands.

The tile cutter works as follows:
In a basic position, the crushing support 2 is in a lowered non-functional position, in which the flat underside of the crushing support 2 rests on the lower support level 6. A tile 34 is placed on the bearing surface 4 and provided with a notch by longitudinal displacement of the slide 24 with the cutting wheel 26 lowered.

The crushing support 2 is then brought into its functional position by moving the handle 21. The inclined surfaces 33 of the slide 3 displaced transversely to the direction of extension of the guide rails 23 raise the crushing support 2 into the functional position in which the crushing rib 8 has slightly raised the tile below the breaking line. In the functional position, the underside of the crushing support 2 is supported on the upper support level 7. The crushing rib protrudes over the contact surface 4 and has slightly raised the tile at the location of the crushing rib 8.

To cut the tile 34, the crushing member 5 is brought to the level of the crushing support 2 by a linear displacement of the slide 24 and lowered by pivoting the handle arm 25, two downwardly projecting pressure zones of the crushing member 5 each located at two points away from the breaking notch against the top of the Press the tile. That compared to the Breaking rib 8 applied torque causes the tile 34 to break along the break notch.
