Definitions
- the invention relates to a tile cutter according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a base spar extends there in the form of a continuously cast profile between two feet.
- a rib made of the same material from the continuous cast profile forms a break support.
- the DE 195 34 610 A1 discloses a tile cutter with a splitting device, in which a thorn-like break support can be displaced in the vertical direction by means of a pivot cam.
- the U.S. 6,148,810 describes a tile cutter with a base body that has a uniform material and a rib forming a break support.
- the NL 1033 776 describes a tile cutter in which two feet are connected with a square profile; a square edge pointing upwards forms a break support.
- the tile cutters described above can be set up on a standing surface using the feet.
- the feet carry a support frame, which in turn carries a support body.
- the support body forms a flat support surface for supporting a tile to be divided.
- Carrying elements that carry a guide rail arrangement are attached to the support frame.
- the guide rail arrangement extends vertically above the support body and is able to guide a carriage in the horizontal direction, which is a Carries cutting element and a breaking organ.
- the cutting element is used to make a notch in the upward facing surface of the tile.
- a breaker support is attached to the support frame below the guide rail arrangement, against which the underside of the tile is pressed by a downward movement of the breaker element. The torque generated in the process causes the tile to break along the break notch.
- tile cutters are particularly known from the AT 13129 U1 , AT 52 960 E. , DE 28 34 232 A1 , DE 69 426 286 T2 , EP 0 501 053 A1 , EP 0 136 032 A1 and ES 20 28 701 A6 .
- the invention is based on the object of developing a generic tile cutter in an advantageous manner.
- the object is achieved by the invention specified in claim 1, according to which the break support on an upward-facing upper side of a square tube is screwed on. It is fastened from the square cavity.
- the breaker support is carried by a base spar located below the guide rail arrangement.
- the base spar is attached to the guide rail arrangement with each of its two ends via one of the two support elements.
- the base spar runs parallel to the guide rail arrangement, so that the guide rail arrangement, the base spar and the two support elements form an essentially elongated rectangular frame.
- the base spar is formed by a square tube which extends over the entire longitudinal extent of the at least one support body.
- the support elements are in turn carried by feet, so that the base spar extends at a vertical distance above the standing surface which is defined by the free ends of the feet.
- the break support can be designed as an elongated web. It is attached to an upward-facing wall of the base spar. This is done by screws. To tighten the screws, the underside of the base spar opposite the top has an opening through which a screwing tool can be inserted into the cavity of the square tube forming the base spar.
- the breakable web formed by the breaker support can extend over the entire length of the at least one support body.
- the support body is preferably resiliently mounted.
- the support body is supported on spring elements which are supported by the arms protruding laterally from the base spar.
- the arms run transversely to the direction of extension of the base spar and essentially in the horizontal direction.
- the spring elements are formed by compression springs.
- Retaining pins extend in them, with which preferably two support bodies are fixed on the arms.
- a longitudinal slot runs between the two support bodies, the width of which corresponds to the width of the breaking bar, so that the breaking bar can penetrate through the slot when the two plate-shaped bearing bodies are displaced downwards.
- the guide rail arrangement preferably has two guide rails which run parallel to one another. The two guide rails are attached to an arm of the support element with a rail attachment.
- the rail fastening extends parallel to the wings, which each have a base at their ends and which also protrude from the support element in the horizontal direction transversely to the direction in which the guide rails extend.
- a carriage guided between the two guide rails carries a cutting wheel that can be displaced vertically downwards and a V-shaped breaking punch which forms the breaking element.
- the rib formed by the break bar runs below the path of movement of the cutting wheel. In the basic state, the apex line of the rib lies in the support plane which is defined by the top of the two support bodies. The underside of a tile to be cut rests on this rib when a break notch is made in the upper side of the tile with the cutting wheel.
- the tile cutter shown in the drawings 1 to 8 has a support frame 1 which has four feet 12. Each of the four feet 12 is attached to the end of a wing 5 which protrudes from a support element 4 in the horizontal direction.
- a total of two support elements 4 are provided, each of which is attached to the narrow sides of the tile cutter, which has an essentially rectangular outline.
- the support elements 4 are each connected to the end of a base spar 3 formed by a square tube. They hold the base spar 3 at a vertical distance from the standing surface, so that the base spar 3 hovers over the standing surface.
- Each of the two support elements 4 carries a vertically upwardly pointing arm 6 with a U-shaped cross-section.
- the rail arrangement 8, the arms 6 and the base spar 3 form the four legs of an elongated rectangular frame which absorbs the forces arising when a tile is cut. The forces are introduced into the feet 12 via the wings 5 protruding laterally from the support element 4 and having a U-shaped cross section.
- a breaker support 13 in the form of a breakable web having a rib 14 which is fastened to the square tube 3 with the aid of fastening screws 15.
- the fastening is carried out from the square cavity with a screwing tool that can be inserted into the cavity through a screwing tool opening 16.
- the break support 13 is constructed in several parts. It has a breaking block 13 'at its end adjacent to a head stop 35 to rest against an edge of a tile.
- the breaking block 13 ' is a cylindrical body with a breaking rib.
- the fastening screw 15 engages in an internal thread.
- the circumferential surface extending along a circular cylinder jacket wall has an opening in which a connecting pin 33 is inserted, which connects the breaking block 13 ′ to an elongated section 13 ′′ of the breaking support 13 in a rotationally fixed manner.
- the apex line of the rib 14 runs vertically below a cutting wheel 22 which is attached to a slide 20 which is guided by means of rollers 24 in the guide rails 8, which are C-shaped in profile.
- the end of a grip arm 21 is held in a neutral position via a spring element 25.
- the cutting wheel 22 is brought into a functional position in which it is displaced over the top of a tile carried by the support frame 1, producing a break notch.
- the underside of the tile is supported on the rib 14.
- the break support 13 is arranged in a slot 18 between two individual, plate-shaped support bodies 2.
- the support bodies 2 are supported by compression springs 10.
- the compression springs 10 are supported on the one hand on the underside of the support body 2 and on the other hand on an arm 9 which is attached to a side wall of the square tube 3 by means of screws.
- a total of three pairs of arms 9 are provided for holding the two support bodies 2 extending parallel to one another.
- the compression springs 10 are arranged helically around a retaining pin 11.
- the retaining pin 11 is in two parts and has an externally threaded part in the form of a screw which is screwed into an internally threaded part in the form of a sleeve having a head.
- the internally threaded part is supported on the underside of the support body 2.
- the position of the support bodies 2 in relation to the arms 9 is fixed by means of the retaining pins 11 which protrude through the cavities of the compression spring.
- the retaining pins 11 are firmly connected to the support bodies 2 and each protrude through an opening 17 of a U-web of the support arm 9.
- a head 11 ' is supported on the downward-facing side of the U-web, so that the head 11' extends from the underside of the U-web can remove when the support body 2 is shifted downwards.
- the apex line of the rib 14 lies approximately at the level of a support surface which is formed by the top of the two support bodies 2. It is a plane that carries the tile to be divided.
- the breaking element 23 is displaced downwards by pivoting the handle arm 21 downwards.
- the breaking member 23 is pivotably connected to the handle arm 21, so that it can be brought into a pivoted position with the cutting wheel 22 to produce the breaking notch.
- the support bodies 2 By displacing the breaking member 23 downward, the support bodies 2 can deflect downward against the restoring force of the compression spring 10, so that the plane formed by their upper side lies below the apex line of the rib 14 of the breaking web 13.
- the Figure 7 shows the support surface of the support body 2 in a plane with the apex of the rib 14.
- the Figure 8 shows a tile 32 which rests on the apex line of the rib 14 and which has been broken by a downward displacement of the breaking member 23 along a breaking notch.

The invention is based on the object of developing a generic tile cutter in an advantageous manner.
The object is achieved by the invention specified in
The support body is preferably resiliently mounted. For this purpose, the support body is supported on spring elements which are supported by the arms protruding laterally from the base spar. The arms run transversely to the direction of extension of the base spar and essentially in the horizontal direction. The spring elements are formed by compression springs. Retaining pins extend in them, with which preferably two support bodies are fixed on the arms. A longitudinal slot runs between the two support bodies, the width of which corresponds to the width of the breaking bar, so that the breaking bar can penetrate through the slot when the two plate-shaped bearing bodies are displaced downwards. The guide rail arrangement preferably has two guide rails which run parallel to one another. The two guide rails are attached to an arm of the support element with a rail attachment. The rail fastening extends parallel to the wings, which each have a base at their ends and which also protrude from the support element in the horizontal direction transversely to the direction in which the guide rails extend. A carriage guided between the two guide rails carries a cutting wheel that can be displaced vertically downwards and a V-shaped breaking punch which forms the breaking element. The rib formed by the break bar runs below the path of movement of the cutting wheel. In the basic state, the apex line of the rib lies in the support plane which is defined by the top of the two support bodies. The underside of a tile to be cut rests on this rib when a break notch is made in the upper side of the tile with the cutting wheel. By lowering the breaking member, a downward pressure is exerted on the surface sections of the tile lying on both sides of the breaking notch, which pressure leads to a torque which in turn leads to the tile breaking along the breaking notch. During this breaking operation, the spring-loaded ones give way Support body against the restoring force of the spring elements downwards.
