Description

The present invention relates to a method for the rehabilitation of cracks in asphalt surfaces or similar kind of surfaces according to the preamble of claim 1 and an apparatus according to the preamble of claim 4.

A method of the generic type is known in the art as a "crack masking method", for example, from EP 0 343 404 A2 or FR 2 530 694 A1 known. In this method, a crack present in an asphalt surface or similar surface is first cleaned by heated compressed air and the flank region of the crack is thermally activated. Subsequently, the thus cleaned crack is sealed with a bitumen-based hot casting compound. The order is carried out by means of a drawing shoe in the width of four to five centimeters. The hot, viscous bitumen also penetrates into the crack gap. On the hot bitumen Abstreugut is then applied. This scraper is usually made of crushed sand or Edelsplit with the grain size 1/3, where it is possibly pre-bituminized. On the one hand, the scraps are intended to reduce the residual adhesive power of the bitumen in order to prevent adhesion to road users and, on the other hand, to increase the friction value of the rehabilitation area over the long term, since the cooled bitumen of the refurbishment, especially in combination with moisture and wetness with its smoothness, can pose a traffic hazard, especially for cyclists , The Abstreugut is so far "aufgerieselt", ie applied solely by gravity, either by hand, by litter or Rieselwagen or by Abstreuautomaten. To make a stronger bond between the scraper and the cover of the crack, the Abstreugut is pressed into the bitumen mass, z. B. by rolling, but this is not very practical, since there is a risk that the freshly poured cover is damaged by adhesion of the still hot, sticky potting compound on the roller. At the completion of crack repair, excess grain must be removed by manual or mechanical sweeping. The renovated area can then be traveled or committed.

The "Crack-Covering Method" is described in "Advice on the Closing and Repair of Cracks and Damaged Seams and Connectors in Traffic Areas of Asphalt" of the Road and Traffic Research Group, Asphalt Roads Working Group, 2003 edition. This brochure was produced and distributed by FGSV Verlag GmbH, Wesselinger Straße 17, 50999 Cologne.

A working by the "crack-covering method" device is in the DE 103 40 051 A1 disclosed. In this device, the application of the Abstreuguts carried by a lowerable impeller with non-round barrel or profiled wheel, which acts on a sliding surface in the outlet for the Abstreugut.

It is also known to carry out a crack repair with a cold potting compound. It is a two-component system, which is cold introduced into the crack and cured there by a chemical reaction. Before curing, the scraps are applied as described above for the hot potting compound. An impressions of Abstreugutes in the mass, z. B. by rolling, is not very practical in this process, since there is a risk that the freshly poured cover is damaged by adhesion of the still sticky potting compound on the roller.

Overcrowding of rehabilitated cracks is driven off and on by road users during use. It has been found disadvantageously that the covering of cracks rehabilitated by the method described above tends to smoothness relatively quickly.

The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a method and a device for the remediation of cracks of the generic type in which the casting compound of the repaired cracks has a durable feel.

This object is achieved by a method having the features of claim 1 or with a device having the features of claim 4.

In the remediation process according to the invention the Abstreugut is no longer aufgerieselt as before, d. H. applied by gravity alone, but shot into the cover. The Abstreugut not only adheres to the surface of the cover or in a surface near the surface, but it penetrates deep into the cover, so that there is a depot formed in the form of a grain matrix. When such restructured cracks are traveled, the embedded grain of the material to be scoured on the surface is gradually exposed by the normal wear of the casting layer and is thus available for a continuous grip maintenance. This function will last until the cover has been completely used up and thus the depot is no longer available. This prevents the formation of smoothness in wet conditions and moisture.

In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the acceleration of the material to be spread takes place either by mechanical or pneumatic means. Devices according to the invention have corresponding pneumatic or mechanical acceleration devices for the scraps.

The invention will be described below using the example of the "crack masking method".

Fig. 1 shows a section through a crack 1 in an asphalt surface 2 with pollution 3 by road dust, tire abrasion, etc. The usual crack width is up to one centimeter, the usual crack depth to 2.5 centimeters.

Fig. 2 zeigt den gesäuberten Riss 1.For refurbishment, the in Fig. 1 1 soiled rip to be cleaned. For this purpose, a hot compressed air lance is used, which works with heated compressed air at a pressure of 4 to 6 bar and a temperature of 500 ° C. With the hot compressed air, the crack is blown out and the asphalt heated in the flank region of the crack 1, that is, thermally activated. Fig. 2 shows the cleaned crack 1.

Immediately following the cleaning, the crack 1 is filled with bitumen-based hot casting compound ( Fig. 3 ). The potting compound is applied at 160 ° C by means of a drawing shoe, the cover 4 of the crack 1 should have a width B of about 5 centimeters and a thickness D of not more than 2 millimeters. The hot, viscous material also penetrates into the crack 1 and cools depending on the ambient temperature within 15 to 30 minutes. In that regard, the inventive method corresponds to the usual state of the art.

In contrast to the prior art, in the next method step, the result in Fig. 4 is shown, the Abstreugut no longer aufgerieselt on the cover 4, but shot into this. As a result, the grains 6.1 of the scattered material 6 not only adhere to the surface of the cover 4, but penetrate deeply into them, so that a depot of grains 6.1 is formed in the cover 4.

Overlap 4 is driven off and on in the course of use by road users. Is in Fig. 5 shown. It can also be seen from this illustration that in the course of wear of the cover 4, new grains 6.1 of the scrape material 6 are always exposed, so that the grip of the repaired area is maintained until the cover 4 is completely worn.

Fig. 6 shows a first embodiment of an apparatus 7 for bombarding the cover 4 with Abstreugut 6. This device 7 has a reservoir 8 for the Abstreugut 6. The reservoir 8 has a funnel-shaped bottom 8.1, which opens into a downpipe 9. The drop tube 9 binds tangentially into a housing 10 of a paddle wheel 11. The paddle wheel 11 rotates in the clockwise direction with respect to the illustration, thereby sucking on a scrape 6 and, secondly, accelerating it to a speed sufficient for the grains 6.1 of the scrape 6 to penetrate deep into the cover 4 and there forms a depot as described above.

Fig. 7 shows a further device 12 for firing the cover 4 with Abstreugut 6. This device 12 also has again a reservoir 8 for the Abstreugut 6. The funnel-shaped bottom 8.1 of the reservoir 8 also opens here into a downpipe 9. The downpipe 9 binds in a pressure line 13, which is connected to a compressed air source 14. The compressed air flowing through the pressure line 13 generates at the point of confluence of the downpipe 9 a negative pressure, whereby scrape groove 6 is sucked in and at the same time accelerated. The pressure line 13 has a connection 14, to which one end of a hose 15 is connected. The other end of this hose 15 is connected via a further connection 16 with a hand lance 17, which is held by an operator. The operator can align the mouthpiece 17.1 of the lance 17 exactly on the cover 4 so that the scrape groove 6 can be targeted into the cover 4.

The dosage of the Abstreugutes 6 takes place by tuning the amount of compressed air, compressed air pressure and amount of supplied Abstreugutes. 6
