Wenn derartig sanierte Risse befahren werden, wird durch den normalen Verschleiß der Vergussschicht sukzessive das eingelagerte Korn des Abstreugutes an der Oberfläche freigelegt und steht somit für einen durchgehenden Griffigkeitserhalt zur Verfügung. Diese Funktion hält solange an, bis sich die Abdeckung gänzlich aufgebraucht hat und somit auch das Depot nicht mehr vorhanden ist.
