Different protective helmets are known from the prior art, which are known to protect the head of the helmet wearer. Often specially adapted helmets are required or particularly useful for various activities. For example, so workers in the field of wind turbines must use two different types of helmets. On the ground, the worker must wear an industrial helmet according to EN 397, while climbing a climbing helmet according to EN 12492 must be used. Wearing different helmets is generally cumbersome and expensive.

On the helmet dome sits a front headlamp, which is fixed by running around the helmet dome straps at this. In the helmet cap openings are present, are used in the fastening parts for holding the straps. The fasteners have parallel holding legs that have different lengths.

The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a protective helmet, which has a very wide range of applications. Furthermore, the protective helmet should be optimally adaptable to the respective application.

This object is achieved by the features specified in the claim 1. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that the protective helmet comprises a movable chin strap which can be fixed locally in its upper chin strap parking position on at least one chin strap holding means arranged on the helmet dome.

The chin strap is parked in the upper chinstrap parking position. When the helmet is worn on the helmet wearer's headgear, the chinstrap parking position removes the chinstrap from the helmet wearer's chin and does not interfere with it. He is then without holding function on the chin. The chin strap then additionally attacks on the back of the helmet wearer, thus ensuring additional fixation.

In the chinstrap hold position, the chinstrap runs around the chin of the helmet wearer when the safety helmet is worn on the headgear of the helmet wearer. The chin strap then fixes the helmet on the head of the helmet wearer over the chin of the helmet wearer and thus exercises a holding function.

The helmet thus complies with the two standards EN 397 and EN 12492. It can be used on the one hand with a functional chinstrap and on the other hand with a parked chinstrap. When the chinstrap is parked, the chin strap on the chin is essentially inoperable. The protective helmet thus has a dual function and has an extremely wide field of application.

The at least one free retaining web allows a particularly secure and easy fixation of the chinstrap in its upper chinstrap parking position. The at least one free retaining bridge is opposite or from the helmet calotte.

It is advantageous if the at least one free retaining web runs from bottom to top, ie substantially in the direction of a ceiling region of the helmet shell, in relation to the helmet shell. Other orientations of the at least one retaining web are alternatively possible.

If the at least one retaining web is located in the head-receiving space of the helmet shell, such a protective helmet is visually very appealing, since then the chin strap in his chin strap parking position is substantially hidden runs and the at least one holding web is hidden. The chinstrap and the at least one holding bar are then protected. The chinstrap then rests against the head of the helmet wearer.

The chinstrap assembly is preferably substantially flexible in its entirety. Alternatively, the chinstrap arrangement can be pivoted in whole or in part with respect to the helmet shell.

It is advantageous if the chin strap has a closure or can be opened by a closure and can be closed.

Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

The embodiments according to claims 2 and 3 lead to a protective helmet, the chin strap is arranged extremely convenient in the upper chin strap parking position. The chin strap is then out of the field of vision of the helmet wearer and leaves the wearing comfort of the helmet unaffected. He then runs along the back of the helmet wearer, thus ensuring additional fixation.

It is advantageous if the chin strap in its upper chinstrap parking position is located at least for the most part in the rear area of the helmet cap.

Conveniently, the chin strap extends in its upper chinstrap parking position at least largely adjacent to the lower free end edge of the helmet shell.

A protective helmet shown in the drawing comprises a shell-like helmet calotte 1 and a chin strap arrangement 2 arranged on the helmet dome 1 for holding the helmet dome 1 on the head of a helmet wearer (not shown). The helmet shell 1 is rigid and preferably formed of plastic material. It is advantageous if a soft lining (not shown) is provided in the helmet cap 1.

The helmet shell 1 has a front area 3, a rear area 4 opposite the front area 3, and two opposing side areas 5, which extend essentially between the front area 3 and the rear area 4. Furthermore, the helmet shell 1 has an upper ceiling area 6, which is closed. Opposite to the ceiling area 6, the helmet shell 1 has a lower, free end edge 7, which is circumferential. The protective helmet 1 is made substantially symmetrical with respect to a plane of symmetry which extends longitudinally between the front region 3 and the rear region 4.

When the helmet is worn as intended, the front portion 3 of the helmet cap 1 is located above or adjacent to the forehead of the helmet wearer, while the rear portion 4 is the back of the head of the helmet wearer at least mostly covered. The side regions 5 of the helmet shell 1 are then arranged laterally to the head of the helmet wearer. The ceiling portion 6 of the helmet shell 1 covers the head of the helmet wearer at the top, while the end edge 7 runs around the head of the helmet wearer and is at least largely turned down. The front portion 3 is thus a frontal area, while the rear area 4 is an occipital area.

The chin strap arrangement 2 is fastened to the side regions 5 of the helmet shell 1 in the region of the end edge 7. This has for this purpose two mutually opposite connection belt 8, each extending substantially V-shaped and are fastened with their upper V-ends to the helmet shell 1.

Each connecting belt 8 has a front belt part 9 and a rear belt part 10 which extends obliquely to the front belt part 9. The front belt parts 9 have a smaller distance to the front region 3 of the helmet shell 1 than the rear belt parts 10. The belt parts 9, 10 of a connection belt 8 converge from the helmet shell 1 to a lower node region 11, which forms a V-tip.

Rastverschluss.Furthermore, the chin strap arrangement 2 comprises a chin strap 12, which adjoins the two node regions 11 and can preferably be opened by a closure 13 or can be closed. The closure 13 is preferably a plug-in or snap-in closure.

The connecting belt 8 and the chin strap 12 may be made separately or in one piece. Instead of the V-shaped design of the connection belt 8 and differently designed connection belt, such. B. one-piece or straight connecting strap, may be provided. There may also be only one connection belt 8 available.

It is advantageous if the connecting belt 8 and the chin strap 12 are flexible or flexible. Conveniently, the connection belt 8 are hinged to the helmet shell 1.

When the protective helmet is intended to be carried by the helmet wearer, the belt parts 9, 10 extend from the helmet shell 1 down and laterally along the head of the helmet wearer, the ears of the helmet wearer are placed between the belt parts 9, 10 of the respective connecting belt 8. The chin strap 12 then runs around the chin of the helmet wearer. In essence, the chinstrap assembly 2 then has the in Fig. 1 illustrated orientation.

At the Helmkalotte 1 is centered in the rear area 4, d. H. in the plane of symmetry, a chinstrap holding means 14 is provided which serves to hold the chinstrap 12 in its upper chinstrap parking position. The chin strap holding means 14 is executed separately from the helmet shell 1 according to this embodiment. It is clamp-like designed as a plug.

The chinstrap holding means 14 has a bottom plate 15. Further, the chinstrap holding means 14 comprises a connection body 16 projecting substantially vertically upwards from the bottom plate 15 and a free holding web 17 projecting vertically upwards from the bottom plate 15. The connection body 16 and the holding web 17 are substantially parallel to each other. They are essentially one another opposite and extend from the bottom plate 15 spaced from each other.

The connection body 16 in turn has two spring arms 18, which run parallel to each other. The spring arms 18 are resilient. They extend substantially perpendicular to the bottom plate 15 and preferably have opposing retaining heads 19 on opposite outer side regions. The retaining heads 19 are arranged substantially adjacent to the free ends of the spring arms 18.

The retaining web 17 extends substantially bow-shaped. It runs from the bottom plate 15 together to form a window upwards together. At least one retaining projection 21 is arranged on the side of the retaining web 17 facing the connector body 16 in the head region 20 of the retaining web 17. The holding web 17 extends from the bottom plate 15 further than the connecting body 16 away.

For local determination of the chin strap holding means 14 on the helmet shell 1, a slot-like receiving opening 22 is provided on the helmet shell 1 or in the wall thereof, which extends substantially in the circumferential direction of the helmet shell 1. The receiving opening 22 has a width which is oriented perpendicular to the circumferential direction of the helmet shell 1 and substantially corresponds to the thickness of the connecting body 16. The oriented in the circumferential direction of the helmet shell 1 width of the receiving opening 22 is slightly larger than the width of the connector body 16. When the chinstrap holding means 14 is fixed to the helmet shell 1, the connecting body 16 passes through the receiving opening 22, wherein the retaining heads 19 laterally beyond the receiving opening 22 stand out and engage behind adjacent areas of the helmet shell 1, so that the retaining heads 19 provide for a fixation of the chin strap holding means 14 to the helmet shell 1.

When the terminal body 16 is inserted from below into the receiving opening 22, the spring arms 18 spring together. For this purpose, corresponding insertion bevels 23 are provided on the retaining heads 19 above. As soon as the retaining heads 19 have penetrated the receiving opening 22, the spring arms 18 spring apart again and ensure the fixing of the chin strap holding means 14 to the helmet cap 1.

The retaining bar 17 is then located within the helmet cap 1. It is then arranged quasi in a head-receiving space of the helmet cap 1, which is bounded by the helmet cap 1 and is provided for receiving the head of the helmet wearer. The holding web 17 extends substantially freely in the head receiving space and spaced from the helmet shell 1. The bottom plate 15 extends adjacent below the end edge 7. The chin strap holding means 14 virtually surrounds the end edge 7 from below. The holding web 17 has a smaller distance to the front region 3 than the connecting body 16.

To release the chin strap holding means 14 of the helmet shell 1, the spring arms 18 are to press together, so that the retaining heads 19 can pass through the receiving opening 22.

When the chinstrap assembly 2 is no longer needed on the chin, the chinstrap 12 is moved up into its upper chinstrap parking position. The chin strap 12 is suspended in an inner chinstrap receiving space 24, which passes through the inside of the helmet shell 1 and the retaining web 17 is limited. Further, the chinstrap receiving space 24 is bounded downwardly by the bottom plate 15. The chin strap 12 is guided from above over the free retaining web 17 and pushed in the direction of the bottom plate 15. The retaining projections 21 prevent unintentional removal of the chinstrap 12 from the chinstrap receiving space 24. When the chinstrap 12 is suspended over the retaining web 17, the belt members 9, 10 are aligned in the direction of the chinstrap receiving space 24, respectively. The belt parts 9, 10 are either pivoted at their connection areas or bent at a distance from the connection areas.

Fig. 3 zeigt den Schutzhelm mit geparktem Kinnriemen 12. Fig. 3 shows the safety helmet with parked chin strap 12. Off Fig. 3 shows that the connecting belt 8 substantially parallel or adjacent to the end edge 7 when the chin strap 12 is hung around the holding web 17. The connection belts 8 preferably provide for a further lateral fixation of the protective helmet to the head of the helmet wearer. The chin strap 12 also fixes the protective helmet on the head of the helmet wearer.

When the chin strap 12 is to be unmounted, the attachment straps 8 and the chin strap 12 are moved substantially in reverse.

According to an alternative embodiment, the at least one chinstrap holding means 14 is integrally or inseparably connected to the helmet shell 1.

Preferably, a rear-end belt is arranged on the helmet shell 1 at the bottom for abutment with a lower rear head region of the helmet wearer. It is advantageous if the rear-head strap is adjustable in length in order to be optimally adaptable to the back of the helmet wearer.
