Description

The invention relates to a head protection system with a protective helmet and a fire protection cloth.

It is known to use a fire protection cloth in the area of the neck in addition to a firefighter's helmet to protect against hot materials, radiant heat and flames. A special form of such a fire protection cloth, also known as a Holland cloth or integral cloth, also protects sensitive areas such as the forehead, parts of the face and the front and side neck. In combination with a respirator, this can provide full head protection for a firefighter. Fire protection cloths that are already known are attached to the corresponding protective helmet, such as the fire brigade helmet, by means of a Velcro fastener, snap fasteners or plastic brackets specially provided for this purpose.

EP 1 885 209 B1 describes an integral cloth that can be connected to a protective helmet by means of two brackets made of elastically deformable material via hooking means.

DE 87 14 490 U1 describes a protective helmet with recesses arranged in the edge area for the simultaneous accommodation of various add-on elements, in particular a neck protector.

The object of the present invention is to enable an improved head protection system, in particular a head protection system with a high degree of wearing comfort and a high degree of safety for the wearer of the head protection system. According to the invention, a head protection system with a protective helmet and a fire protection cloth is proposed to solve this problem.

The protective helmet has a helmet shell and a holding device for ensuring a distance between an inside of the helmet shell and a head of a wearer of the protective helmet in the wearing state of the protective helmet. The distance between the inside of the helmet shell and the head of the wearer results in an air passage between the protective helmet and the head, the air passage being formed in part by a plurality of openings in a fastening ring, and the fastening ring being in the worn state of the protective helmet at least in the area of the forehead of the carrier is arranged.

The fire protection sheet has a fastening strap, the fastening strap having a plurality of rigid fastening elements which are each configured to engage in a respective opening of the fastening ring and thereby releasably fasten the fire protection sheet to the protective helmet. In this case, the plurality of rigid fastening elements in the fastened state fills the plurality of openings in such a way that the air path through the plurality of openings is closed.

In the context of the invention, it was recognized that it is advantageous for using the protective helmet without a fire protection cloth if the head is well ventilated, whereas during firefighting with the simultaneous use of the fire protection cloth, very hot air on the inside of the helmet shell should be avoided. Furthermore, it was recognized that the fire protection cloth, in addition to the known protective functions for the head, can close openings for ventilation on the helmet shell.

The head protection system according to the invention thus advantageously enables particularly good ventilation of the head of a wearer of the protective helmet via the provided airway, as long as no fire protection cloth is attached to the protective helmet. Furthermore, the head protection system according to the invention enables reliable protection of the head from hot ambient air by means of a protective helmet and fire protection cloth due to the closing of the plurality of openings and the at least partial closing of the airway made possible by this.

Furthermore, the head protection system according to the invention advantageously has coordinated components, namely the fastening ring of the safety helmet and the fastening strap of the fire protection cloth. According to the invention, these two components interact in that fastening the fire protection cloth to the fastening ring via the fastening strip results in the air path being closed by the plurality of openings.

According to the invention, closing the openings means that these openings are essentially closed to the airway. According to the invention, the air path can also be formed in other ways on the inside of the helmet shell in addition to these openings, so that the closing of the plurality of openings leads to an at least partial reduction of air within the air path.

The protective helmet according to the invention is in particular a firefighter's helmet. The advantages of the invention are particularly relevant for the use of the head protection system in areas with hot ambient air, ie in particular for use as part of fire service activities.

According to the invention, the airway is formed, among other things, by the plurality of openings of the fastening ring. The airway preferably consists of a plurality of airway areas, with each opening being assigned an airway area. The plurality of airway regions may be contiguous or discontinuous.

In addition to the plurality of rigid fastening elements, further components of the fastening strap and/or the fastening ring can be provided in order to enable the fastening strap to be reliably fastened to the fastening ring.

According to the invention, a rigid fastening element is a fastening means which, due to its rigid structure, is suitable for closing a respective opening while it is fastened in the area of the openings. In particular, the rigid fastening element can be positioned directly in front of a respective opening when the fire protection cloth is in a fastened state on the protective helmet be arranged and contribute to the attachment of the fastening strap to the protective helmet due to a tensioning force thereby acting on the fastening strap. In this case, the rigid fastening elements are typically supplemented by further components of the fastening strap and/or the fastening ring, which also contribute to a reliable fastening of the fastening strap to the fastening ring.

The fastening ring can also be formed exclusively in the area of the wearer's forehead, in which case a further fastening part is typically provided on the protective helmet in the area of the back of the wearer's head in order to ensure stable attachment of the fire protection cloth to the protective helmet. In particular, the fastening ring can be designed in several parts.

The holding device within the protective helmet according to the invention is typically formed by a hair net and/or a suitable harness on the inside of the helmet shell. Corresponding holding devices have been known for many types of helmets for a long time and are therefore not explained in detail below.

The filling of an opening with a fastening element can be achieved, for example, by covering the opening with the fastening element or by passing the fastening element through the opening.

Preferred embodiments of the head protection system according to the invention are described below.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the fastening strap is made of a plastic. A plastic is typically easy to process. As a result, the fastening strap can be produced particularly cheaply in this embodiment. The fastening strap is preferably a non-stretchable fastening strap, in particular a substantially rigid fastening strap. The essentially rigid fastening strap can be bent when the fire protection sheet is folded up be, but is not stretchable in the lateral direction, ie in the direction of extension of the fastening strap.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the protective helmet also has a damping element arranged on the inside of the helmet shell. In an advantageous variant of this embodiment, the fastening ring is arranged on the damping element. Due to the structure proposed in this variant, the openings of the fastening ring advantageously lead under the damping element and thus into the airway between the inside of the helmet shell and the wearer's head.

In a further preferred embodiment, the fastening ring has at least 4 openings, in particular at least 6 openings. In this way, a particularly good ventilation of the head can be made possible if the fire protection cloth is not attached.

In an advantageous embodiment of the head protection system according to the invention, the fastening strap of the fire protection cloth is to be fastened to the fastening ring of the protective helmet via a snap-in mechanism. A latching mechanism is at least an interlocking connection, preferably an interlocking and non-positive connection. The snap-in mechanism is formed by the rigid fastening elements of the fastening strap and by the fastening ring to which the fastening strap is to be detachably fastened. In an alternative and/or supplementary embodiment, the fastening strap is additionally fastened to the fastening ring via a further fastening mechanism. The additional attachment mechanism is, for example, a push-button mechanism, an at least non-positive latching mechanism and/or a click connection.

In an advantageous embodiment, the fastening elements form teeth on the fastening strap. A particularly stable fastening of the fastening strap to the fastening ring can be made possible via such toothing. Furthermore, such allows Teeth a particularly uniform attachment of the fastening tape to the fastening ring and therefore also a uniform distribution of force in a tensile force acting on the fire protection cloth.

In an advantageous embodiment, the fastening elements of the fastening strap are of essentially rectangular design. In an alternative or supplementary embodiment, the fastening elements are oval, triangular and/or semicircular. In a variant of this embodiment, the opening assigned to a respective fastening element from the plurality of openings is advantageously also essentially rectangular, oval, triangular and/or semicircular. In this way, the respective fastening element can reliably close the respective opening from the plurality of openings. Furthermore, the shapes of the openings according to this embodiment allow large openings compared to concave shapes, so that a particularly good ventilation of the head is possible in the event of a fire protection cloth not being attached to the protective helmet.

In a further embodiment, the fastening elements and/or the openings have different shapes from one another. As a result, depending on the shape of the protective helmet, a particularly effective airway, in particular an airway with particularly good ventilation of the head, can be provided.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the fire protection cloth is a Holland cloth. As a result, the head of the wearer of the head protection system can be protected particularly effectively against flames and hot ambient air.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the protective helmet is designed in such a way that the airway between the protective helmet and the head is completely closed when the fire protection cloth is in the fastened state. In this way it can be ensured in a particularly reliable manner that, in the case of a fire protection cloth attached to the protective helmet, almost no hot ambient air can penetrate through the openings to the inside of the helmet shell. In one In a particularly advantageous variant of this embodiment, the protective helmet is a firefighter's helmet.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the fastening strap comprises, in addition to the plurality of rigid fastening elements, a plurality of fastening parts which are designed to detachably fasten the fire protection sheet to the protective helmet. The plurality of fastening parts preferably forms a robust, reliable fastening which is only supplemented by the plurality of rigid fastening elements. Preferably, the plurality of fasteners are not formed in close proximity to the plurality of openings. As a result, attachment via the attachment parts can be particularly reliable. Fastening via the fastening parts requires corresponding fastening areas on the fastening ring. A corresponding fastening part and a corresponding fastening area are matched to one another in such a way that a positive connection, preferably a positive and/or non-positive connection, is possible between the fastening part and the fastening area. In a particularly preferred variant of this embodiment, the plurality of rigid fastening elements enables a particularly simple and suitable arrangement of the fire protection cloth on the protective helmet, but only the plurality of fastening parts effectively fastens the fire protection cloth to the protective helmet when tensile forces occur. In this variant, the plurality of rigid fastening elements preferably allows the position of the fire protection cloth to be secured relative to the protective helmet when transverse forces occur. Transverse forces are forces with a component in the direction of the lateral expansion of the fastening strap.

The fastening strap is preferably made in one piece, in particular made in one piece from a plastic. In an alternative advantageous embodiment, the fastening strap is designed in two parts, in particular in two parts made from a plastic. Providing two parts advantageously allows the fire protection cloth to be adapted to different head sizes.

1 shows a schematic representation of a protective helmet 100 according to a first exemplary embodiment of a head protection system according to the invention.

The protective helmet 100 has a helmet shell 105 and a holding device 108 to ensure a distance between an inner side 106 of the helmet shell 105 and a head 102 of a wearer of the protective helmet 100 when the protective helmet 100 is worn. The outer side 107 of the helmet shell 105 is designed without any openings, to ensure a protective function against hot materials, hot ambient air and flames. Due to the distance A between the inside 106 of the helmet shell 105 and the head 102 of the wearer, an airway 110 results between the protective helmet 100 and the head 102. This airway 110 is partially formed by a plurality of openings 120 of a fastening ring 125. The air flow within the airway 110 can be designed differently depending on the thermal ambient conditions. In the present case, the airway 110 leads through the holding device 108 formed by a suitable harness and is only partially delimited by the plurality of openings 120 . In particular, the airway in the area of the forehead of the head 102 is not limited exclusively by the fastening ring 125, so that the air can freely exit the airway 110 at the forehead.

When the protective helmet is being worn, the fastening ring 125 is arranged at least in the area of the forehead of the wearer. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the fastening ring 125 is only formed in the area of the forehead and is arranged on a damping element 112 which is fastened to the inside 106 of the helmet shell 105 . The fastening ring 125 is glued to the damping element 112 . In an exemplary embodiment that is not shown, the fastening ring is fastened to the damping element or directly to the helmet shell in a non-positive and/or positive manner.

The openings 120 of the plurality of openings are rectangular shaped in the illustrated embodiment. Each opening has a width B1 of at least 0.3 cm, in particular at least 0.5 cm, particularly preferably at least 1 cm. Furthermore, each opening has a height H1 of at least 0.3 cm, in particular at least 0.5 cm, particularly preferably at least 1 cm.

In dem dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel beträgt der Abstand A mindestens 0,3 cm, insbesondere mindestens 0,7 cm, besonders bevorzugt mindestens 1,3 cm.A spacer element 114 is arranged next to the holding device 108 on the helmet shell 105 in the area of the back of the head, which ensures that the helmet shell 105 does not hit the head 102 of the wearer of the protective helmet 100 in this area. The distance A shown is the smallest distance between the inside 106 of the helmet shell 105 and the head 102. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the distance A is at least 0.3 cm, in particular at least 0.7 cm, particularly preferably at least 1.3 cm.

According to the invention, the head protection system is worn in the state shown without a fire protection cloth if the wearer does not currently want to protect himself from hot ambient air and is therefore interested in an air flow through the airway 110 . Such an air flow can, for example, conduct heat accumulating on the inside 106 of the helmet shell 105 away from the wearer. Furthermore, the flow of air can cool the head 102 of the wearer.

2 shows a schematic representation of a fire protection cloth 200 according to the first exemplary embodiment of the head protection system according to the invention.

The fire protection sheet 200 has a fastening strap 230 . The fastening strap 230 is rigid. The fastening strap 230 is rigid in that it cannot be stretched in the lateral direction, ie in the direction of expansion of the fastening strap 230 . Here, the fastening strap 230 is made of a plastic and can be bent in the transverse direction. Such bending is advantageous in order not to take up too much space when the fire protection sheet 200 is stored and still be able to be fastened to a protective helmet. The fastening strap 230 has a plurality of rigid fastening elements 235 which are each designed to engage in a respective opening 120 of the fastening ring 125 and thereby to fasten the fire protection cloth 200 to the protective helmet 100 in a detachable manner. In the present case, the fastening elements 235 have a respective projection 237, via which a respective fastening element 235 can be fastened to a respective opening 120. The fastening strap 230 in the exemplary embodiment shown is formed in one piece, the two ends being arranged in the area of the forehead of the head 120 . Correspondingly, recesses 240 are arranged in the fire protection cloth 200 for the wearer's face in opposite edge regions of the actual textile part 250 of the fire protection cloth 200 .

The fastening strap 230 is sewn to the textile part 250 . In an exemplary embodiment that is not shown, the fastening strap is connected to the textile part by means of an adhesive bond.

The plurality of rigid fasteners 235 is matched to the structure of the protective helmet 100 such that when fastened, the plurality of openings 120 are filled by the fasteners 235 such that the air path through the plurality of openings is closed.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the fastening strap 230 comprises exactly four rigid fastening elements 235. In an exemplary embodiment which is not shown, the head protection system comprises more than four openings, in particular at least six openings and a corresponding number of rigid fastening elements.

The rigid fastening elements 235 in the exemplary embodiment shown are of essentially rectangular design and are therefore particularly suitable for filling the corresponding essentially rectangular openings 120 on the fastening ring 125 . In the present case, such filling takes place by passing a respective fastening element 235 through an opening 120 provided for this purpose and correspondingly locking the fastening element 235 in this opening 120 by the corresponding projection 237. The respective substantially rectangular, rigid fastening element 235 from the plurality of fastening elements has a width B2 of at least 0.3 cm, in particular at least 0.5 cm, particularly preferably at least 1 cm. Furthermore, the respective essentially rectangular rigid fastening element 235 has a height H2 of at least 0.3 cm, in particular at least 0.5 cm, particularly preferably at least 1 cm.

The fastening strap 230 is at least 1 mm thick, in particular at least 1.5 mm thick.

The safety helmet 100 and the fire protection cloth 200 off 1 and 2 are coordinated and form a common head protection system according to the invention. As part of the Figures 3 to 5 The exemplary embodiments shown show the safety helmet and fire protection cloth in a state attached to one another, with a front area of the corresponding helmet shell of the safety helmet being shown shortened in each case in order to be able to show the attachment of the respective fire protection cloth to the respective safety helmet and the position of the plurality of openings in a suitable manner.

Fig. 3 zeigt eine schematische Darstellung eines zweiten Ausführungsbeispiels des erfindungsgemäßen Kopfschutzsystems 300. 3 shows a schematic representation of a second exemplary embodiment of the head protection system 300 according to the invention.

The head protection system 300 differs from that in 1 and 2 Head protection system shown in that the textile part 350 of the fire protection cloth 360 is closed in the form of a tube around the head and the fastening strap 330 is therefore a closed ring. In an exemplary embodiment that is not shown, the fastening strap is an open strap that can be connected to form a ring shape via a connecting piece, for example by means of a Velcro connection, a clamp connection, a zipper or another suitable form-fitting and/or force-fitting connection.

Fig. 4 zeigt eine schematische Darstellung eines dritten Ausführungsbeispiels des erfindungsgemäßen Kopfschutzsystems 400. 4 shows a schematic representation of a third exemplary embodiment of the head protection system 400 according to the invention.

The head protection system 400 differs from that in 3 illustrated head protection system 300, which are formed around the rigid fasteners 435, in particular semicircular. Furthermore, the fire protection sheet 460 has precisely three rigid fastening elements 435 . The plurality of openings 420 are semi-circular in shape corresponding to the rigid fasteners 435 .

The fastening strap 430 of the fire protection sheet 460 is fastened to the fastening ring 425 of the protective helmet 470 via a snap-in mechanism. The latching mechanism is formed by the combination of rigid fasteners 435 and the corresponding openings 420 . The latching takes place via the projections (not shown) arranged on each of the three rigid fastening elements 435 . There is thus a positive connection and at the same time a non-positive connection between the fire protection sheet 460 and the protective helmet 470 .

Furthermore, the head protection system 400 differs from that in 3 head protection system 300 shown in that, in addition to the attachment via the rigid attachment elements, a plurality of attachment parts 480 are arranged on the fire protection cloth 460, via which the fire protection cloth 460 is also detachably connected to the protective helmet 470. The plurality of fastening parts 480 comprises two fastening parts which are pressed against the fastening ring 425 from the inside 406 of the helmet shell 405 in order to form a detachable connection between the fire protection cloth 460 and the protective helmet 470 with the correspondingly designed counterparts 485 of the fastening ring 425 . Due to this additional connection, the fire protection sheet 460 is particularly reliably and securely connected to the protective helmet 470 in the exemplary embodiment shown.

Fig. 5 zeigt eine schematische Darstellung eines vierten Ausführungsbeispiels des erfindungsgemäßen Kopfschutzsystems 500. figure 5 shows a schematic representation of a fourth exemplary embodiment of the head protection system 500 according to the invention.

The head protection system 500 differs from that in 3 head protection system 300 shown in that the fire protection cloth 560 is fastened in the fastened state on the side of the fastening ring 525 pointing away from the wearer's head. The rigid fastening elements 535 of the fastening strap 530 are not inserted through a respective opening of the fastening ring 525 as in the previous exemplary embodiments. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the rigid fastening elements 535 are held on the fastening ring 525 via a respective rail 590 . An effective attachment against tensile forces acting on the fire protection cloth 560 is made possible by an additional attachment of the fire protection cloth 560 to the protective helmet 570 via corresponding attachment parts 580 . These respective fasteners 580 have protrusions that are pressed and/or pinched toward the head by corresponding counterparts (not shown) of the fastener ring 525 . Other known plug-in connections, clamp connections or connections implemented by snapping in can also be used as an additional connection for fastening the fire protection cloth 560 to the protective helmet 570 .

The plurality of openings 520 is completely closed when the fire protection sheet 560 is in the fastened state. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the air path between the protective helmet 570 and the head is completely closed by the closing of the plurality of openings 520 according to the invention. This is also achieved by the textile part 550 of the fire protection cloth 560, which rests against the head of the wearer in the area of the forehead. In the previous exemplary embodiments, the openings were also completely closed by the fastening elements. In an embodiment that is not shown, a respective opening of the fastening ring is only partially closed by the corresponding fastening element.

Unlike the previous exemplary embodiments, the shape of the plurality of openings 520 and the shape of the rigid attachment elements 535 do not match in the head protection system 500 . The rigid fasteners 535 are rectangular in shape and the majority of the openings 520 are oval in shape. As a result, in the exemplary embodiment shown, the openings 520 can be closed particularly securely by the rigid fastening elements 535 .
