It should be noted that the head 54 and the slider-crank mechanism 60 are completely inside the box 75 while, as already said, the head 45A projects from the upper surface of this box 75.
  • box 75 is integral with the carter 13A and that the two heads 54 and 45A may only rotate and cannot translate with respect to both the box 75 and the carter 13A.
  • each free end of each shaped element 14 projecting from the carter 13A has a beak 14A ( figures 16 , 17 ).

  • a respective transverse projection 25 projects from each shaped element 14 towards the outside (the exploded view of figure 16 shows only one of them) and engages, in use, a respective saddle 6D ( figure 17 ).
  • the detection device 30 is essentially a safety device allowing the member 3 to couple automatically to the member 2 only when this detection device has been completely and correctly actuated, i.e. only if the side projection 25 containing it rests completely and correctly on the respective saddle 6D.
  • each stem 20 actually passes through the respective through hole 16, a first end 21A of the respective elastic member 21 rests on a slide 41, while a second end 21B rests on the inner surface f the vertical plate 15.
  • slide 41 is inside the carter 13A.
  • a bolt 22 with transverse bar is fixed in a known manner to the ends 20A of the stems 20.
  • Each end of the bolt 22 is provided with a respective groove 22A, whose use will be explained below.
  • the bolt 22 is made integral with the slide 41 by means of the two stems 20 fixed to these elements by means of screws. It should be noted that the bolt 22 extends parallel to a second direction (Z) transverse to a first direction (Y) ( figure 16 , 17 ).
  • each elastic member 21 has the function of (automatically) actuating the bolt 22 when the detection device 30, pushing on an inner cam 35, moves it from the coupling position (see below).
  • the shaped elements 14, the ribs 6 and the stems 20 extend parallel to the first direction (Y) ( figure 16 , 17 ).
  • the detection device 30 opens (see below) the bolt 22, belonging to the member 3, only when this latter is in such a position to allow it to be completely stop in a respective seat provided on the other member (see below).
  • the detection device 30 comprises two substantially perpendicular pins 31, 32, coupled together by means of inclined surfaces 31A, 32A ( figure 7 ), so that a vertical movement downwards of the pin 31, i.e. a movement according to the arrow F1, turns into a horizontal movement of the pin 32 from the left to the right, i.e. according to the arrow F2.
  • the vertical movement of the pin 31 causes the horizontal actuation of the pin 32 due to the mutual sliding of the inclined surfaces 31A, 32A over each other.
  • the two pins 31, 32 of the detection device 30 are housed in a seat 33 provided inside the side projection 25.
  • Each pin 31, 32 is provided with a respective slot 31B, 32B, inside which a guide element 31C, 32C slides ( figure 16 ).
  • the detector 30 and the pin (pushing element) 32 of the cam 35 are coupled together by sliding the two inclined surfaces 31A, 32A causing the change in the movement direction.
  • a different system (not shown) can be used instead of this one, providing for the intermediate use of a connecting rod pivoted between detector 30 and pin 32.
  • this mechanism can cause the change in the movement direction.
  • a further possible intermediate element may be constituted by a toothed wheel or the like, causing the change in the movement direction.
  • the movement direction can be changed by means of a movable element rotating around a fixed fulcrum.
  • the actuating mechanism 40 comprises the slide 41 and a pivot pin 47 ending with the head 54 ( figure 17 ).
  • the pivot pin 47 has (from the top downwards) a first segment 47A with polygonal cross section, followed by a second segment 47B with round cross section and ending with an end portion 47C.
  • the pivot pin 47 has an axis of rotation that is fixed with respect to the carter 13A, while the slide 41 is movable from the bottom upwards in the direction indicated by the arrow F3 of figure 4 .
  • the whole pivot pin 47 engages a through hole 78 provided on the upper surface of the carter 13A ( figure 16 ).
  • first segment 47A of the pivot pin 47 is engaged, in use, in a through hole 79 (provided on the cam 35) having the same polygonal cross section.
  • a prismatic coupling is provided between the first segment 47A of the pivot pin 47 and the corresponding through hole 79.
  • the second segment 47B is housed, in use, in a groove 41Q provided on the slide 41 ( figure 16 ), while the end portion 47C is housed in a hole of the plate 13B visible in figure 16 .
  • the slide 41 can freely slide according to the direction indicated by the arrow F3 of figure 4 in its seat provided in the carter 13A and is guided by the second segment 47B and by the end portion 47C, that are always in the groove 41A.
  • the slide 41 has a blind hole 41B to house partially a pin 79A ( figure 16 ) whose upper part (projecting with respect to the upper surface of the slide 41) is coupled to a bush 80, which is designed to rotate freely with respect to the pin 79A.
  • the bush 80 can rotate freely around the vertical axis of the pin 79A.
  • cam 35 is elastically connected with the slide 41 by means of a further elastic member 65 as shown for instance in figure 4 .
  • the cam 35 has inside itself a shaped groove 35A for guiding the bush 80 and has, on its outer profile, an appendix 35B, whose function will be explained below.
  • this shaped groove 35A there are visible an initial seat 66 ( figure 4 , 8 ) for completely releasing the bolt 22 where the bush 80 is initially; a final seat 67 ( figure 10 ) for completely locking the bolt 22, where the bush 80 is at the end of the closing operations; a set of adjacent safety recesses 68, 69 for safety stop.
  • the initial seat 66 is provided with a projection 66', only shown in figures 10 and 14 .
  • This projection 66' defines an obstacle for the free motion of the bush 80 inside the shaped groove 35A, and allows to stabilize the position of the cam 35 when this latter is, in use, in the position illustrated in figure 4 , and allows thus to maintain the bolt 22 completely extracted. It should be noted that this configuration is particularly critical for the connection device 1, as in this configuration ( figure 4 ) the connection device 1 is "armed",
  • the "actuating mechanism 40" (of the "locking movable equipment 90") is defined as the set of the following elements:
  • the cam 235 and the slide 41 are coupled together by means of both the elastic member 65 and the sliding coupling between the bush 80 (carried by the slide 41) and the shaped groove 35A provided in the same cam 35.
  • the appendix 35B of the cam 35 has the function of blocking the movement of the locking movable equipment 90, in the configuration illustrated in figure 4 , where an appendix 35B of the cam 35 rests on a stop 70 specifically designed inside the carter 13A, even if an operator tries to rotate the head 45A (and thus the head 54) in counter-clockwise fashion by means of the lever 55.
  • the rotation of the cam 35 causes a similar rotation of the pin 47 and of the head 54 thereof.
  • the counter-clockwise rotation of the head 54 is transmitted to the head 45A by means of the above mentioned slider-crank mechanism 60.
  • connection device 1 is therefore that illustrated in figure 8 , where the movable equipment 90 moves backwards according to the arrow F3 of figure 4 and the bolt 22 moves in the same direction and inserts partially in the recesses 6B. At the same time the lower face of the bolt 22 rests also on the two beaks 14A.
  • the key 55a can be used to manually open (release) the connection device 1, a step in which energy is stored in the two springs 21.
  • connection device 1 is in safety condition, i.e. the forces acting on it tend to release the bolt 22 from the seats 6B, but the elastic member 65 returns the cam 35 so that the bush 80, even if it exits from the final seat 67, slides on the shaped profile 35A and engages one of the two safety recesses 68, 69, without this bush 80 achieving, for instance, a dangerous intermediate position like that shown in figure 8 , where the connection device 1 has not been yet completely and correctly inserted.
  • connection device is the fact that the actuation of the detector 30 is independent of the width of the couplings welded on the bucket and also when the bucket is in side position in the coupling step.
  • the detector 30 can be quickly and safely actuated under any wear conditions of the couplings, and without the need for maintenance of these couplings.
  • the elastic members 21 and 65 are usually provided by means of helical torsion springs as in figure 4 an din the other figures where they have been shown but these components can be also replaced by different components having the same function, without limiting the scope of the present invention.
