Claims (15)
- A device for a web-fed rotary printing press for processing one or more printed webs (04; 06) comprising a former (13), a strand (18) leaving said former (13), a cross-cutter device arranged downstream of the former (13) in the strand course, as well as a strand path formed between the former (13) and the cross-cutter device via at least one guiding element (46; 47; 48; 49), wherein on at least one longitudinal former section (13) which extends in the transport direction (T13), and in the region of both its right-hand and its left-hand former flanks (23), said former (13) comprises blast-air openings (24) which are fluidically connected to a fluid line (31) that conducts a fluid which is at a higher pressure (P+) than the ambient pressure, wherein at least one suction opening (38), facing the web strand to be folded (25), is arranged on said former (13) between a left-hand and a right-hand flank-side section which comprises blast-air openings (24), and upstream of blast-air openings (27) that are provided in a projection region (26), and/or wherein a suction opening (53) of a nozzle (54) engaging in the folded strand (18) is provided in the strand path downstream of said former (13) and wherein the respective suction opening (38; 53) is fluidically connected to a fluid line (39; 56) that conducts a fluid which is at a lower pressure (P-) than the ambient pressure, so that during a production a higher pressure (P+) is applied in the region of the openings of the blast-air openings (24) while at the same time a lower pressure (P-) is applied at the region of the openings of the at least one suction opening (38; 53).
- The device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the openings of the strand-side suction openings (38) are arranged fixedly connected to the former.
- The device according to Claim 2, characterized in that the openings of the strand-side suction openings (38) are designed as openings of drill holes or recesses which are provided in a former sheet (33) or a cover plate connected to the former sheet (33) that cooperates with the strand to effect the guiding thereof.
- The device according to Claim 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that one or more suction openings (38) provided on the former (13) open into a chamber (44) that is arranged between two separate chambers (29) or chamber areas (29) of a same chamber (29) that is in connection with blast-air openings (24) of the left-hand and the right-hand funnel flanks (23).
- The device according to Claim 1, 2, 3 or 4, characterized in that at least one suction opening (38) of the former (13) is provided on the level of a longitudinal section having blast-air openings (24) in the region of both former flanks (23) and/or, when viewed in longitudinal direction of the former (13), a longitudinal section having at least the one suction opening (38) intersects with the longitudinal section having blast-air openings (24) on both sides.
- The device according to Claim 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, characterized in that the at least one suction opening (38) is provided on a part of the former (13), namely in the region of a funnel sheet (33) that opens into both sides of the funnel flanks (23) of a main funnel body (34), which is different from a detachably connected funnel projection (26).
- The device according to one or more of Claims 1,2,3,4,5 or 6, characterized in that the nozzle (54) engaging in the folded strand (18) is arranged so as to engage in the strand (18) in the strand path on the longitudinal side of the folded strand (18) that is opposite the longitudinal fold (17).
- The device according to one or more of Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that means are arranged in the web path upstream of the former (13) by means of which a double layer (57) of two superposed and longitudinally interconnected layers that are to be guided to the former (13) can be formed upstream of the former (13).
- The device according to Claim 8, characterized in that a longitudinal fold former means and/or a lineal gluing unit (14) are arranged in the web path upstream of the former (13) by means of which a double layer (57) of two superposed and longitudinally interconnected layers that are to be guided to the former (13) can be formed upstream of the former (13).
- A method for forming a longitudinally folded strand (18) in a production mode of a printing press, wherein for the formation of the longitudinally folded strand (18) a single- or multi-layered web strand (25) are guided over a former (13) for forming a longitudinal fold (17) and wherein a blast-air opening (24) provided in the region of a left-hand and a right-hand former flank (23) is applied with a higher pressure (P+) than the ambient pressure, i.e. with a fluid having positive pressure (P+), wherein in this production mode at least one suction opening (38) provided on the former (13) between blast-air openings (24) in the left-hand and right-hand funnel flank (23) and/or upstream of blast-air openings (27) of a projecting region (26) and/or a suction opening (53) of a nozzle (54) engaging in the folded strand (18) on the strand path is at the same time applied with pressure that is lower (P-) than the ambient pressure, i.e. negative pressure (P-).
- The method according to claim 10, characterized in that negative pressure (P-) is applied to at least one suction opening (38) which is provided on the height of a longitudinal section of the former (13) having blast-air openings (24) in the region of both funnel flanks (23).
- The method according to Claim 10 or 11, characterized in that positive pressure (P+) is applied to at least one blast-air opening (24; 27) which is provided in a region located downstream of the at least one suction opening (38).
- The method according to Claim 12, characterized in that positive pressure (P+) is applied to at least one blast-air opening (24; 27) which is provided in the region of a protruding region (26) of the former (13).
- The method according to Claim 10, 11 or 12, characterized in that a double layer (57) with two superposed and longitudinally interconnected layers is guided to the former (13).
- The method according to Claim 14, characterized in that a double layer (57) of an already longitudinally folded web (04; 04a; 06) or of two superposed and longitudinally integrally interconnected layers (04; 04a1; 04b) is guided to the former (13).
