Definitions

  • the invention relates to a shower head according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a common type of shower arm is a hollow brass shower arm, the hollow channel of which acts as a water-carrying channel to a shower head mounted on it.
  • Such shower arms made of a brass housing are relatively heavy. The water carried through comes into direct contact with the brass housing material.
  • U.S. 2010/0276020 A1 discloses a shower arrangement with an overhead shower attached to a rigid, hollow, wall-mounted shower rod which leads as a one-piece tube from a switching valve to the overhead shower in an L-shape and through which water-carrying lines are routed, for example in the form of plastic hoses.
  • the invention is based on the technical problem of providing a shower head of the type mentioned at the outset, the plumbing line of which can be realized with a comparatively low weight and with which contact of the water that has passed through with a housing metal can be avoided.
  • the invention solves this problem by providing a shower head with the features of claim 1.
  • the plumbing line of this shower head has a rigid, hollow, wall-mountable line housing provided with a connection for an overhead shower with a base body and a housing wall attached to this. At least one flexible line made of a bendable line material is inserted into the hollow line housing.
  • the housing wall of a shower arm section or shower arm leading to the overhead shower forms a housing cover on the top or bottom.
  • the flexible line can be inserted into the hollow line housing without any problems before the line housing is closed by attaching the housing wall to the base body.
  • the inserted line acts as a water-carrying channel and avoids any contact with the typically metallic material of the line housing for the water that is fed through.
  • the line housing can be manufactured as a hollow zinc die-cast part.
  • the use of flexible material for the inserted cable is of particular advantage.
  • the line can flexibly follow any course, e.g. curved or angled, of the line housing without having to be precisely matched to the shape and length of the line housing in advance, as is the case with an alternative conceivable use of a rigid pipe part metal or plastic would be the case.
  • Advantageous alternative developments of the invention include the use of a bendable plastic hose line or a bendable metal line for the flexible line.
  • the plumbing line has means for fixing or laterally guiding the respective flexible line. In this way, the line can be held in a defined position in the line housing.
  • the plumbing line has a connecting nipple at at least one end of the flexible line, which is preferably made of a rigid plastic or metal material.
  • a plurality of flexible lines are arranged in parallel and next to one another in terms of flow in the line housing.
  • hot water and cold water can be routed separately in the plumbing line, or shower water can be routed separately to separate shower spray areas of a connected shower head.
  • a multi-connection nipple is provided which has a plurality of connection openings which are coupled to one end of each of the flexible lines. The connection openings are fluidically connected to a common outlet or inlet opening or alternatively to separate outlet or inlet openings of the multi-connection nipple.
  • the water supplied via the inlet opening can be divided between the several connected flexible lines or via the flexible Water supplied separately from the lines can be brought together in the multi-connection nipple. In the latter case, water can be fed separately to separate shower spray areas via the outlet openings.
  • the plumbing line contains a shower arm line for a shower head.
  • the multi-connection nipple forms a connection for the flexible lines that are coupled to a shower head of the shower head.
  • a first of the plurality of fluidically parallel flexible lines can be coupled to a first spray area of the shower head and a second to a second spray area separate from the first. This enables shower water to be routed separately in the plumbing line to the different shower spray areas. If the multi-connection nipple is provided on the outlet side, the flexible lines can be coupled to the separate shower areas via this.
  • the plumbing line for use in a shower head has a section on the shower wall side and a shower arm section running at an angle with respect to this section.
  • the section on the shower wall side can be intended to be mounted essentially vertically on a solid wall of a shower, while the shower arm section protrudes therefrom essentially horizontally and carries the shower head.
  • the shower head system shown in perspective in an assembly exploded view includes a sanitary line 1 according to the invention, which leads from a mixer tap 2 to an overhead shower 3 and is composed of two parts, a wall-side section 1a and a shower arm section 1b projecting substantially vertically from it.
  • the two sections 1a, 1b are coupled to one another via a wall bracket 4, with which the plumbing line 1 can be attached to a solid wall of a shower room in the usual way, so that the wall-side section 1a extends essentially vertically and the shower arm section 1b essentially horizontally .
  • the mixer faucet 2 only schematically indicated here has, in the usual way, two separate water inlets 5, 6 for cold water and hot water and a volume and temperature control, not shown, with which the user can set the water volume and water temperature.
  • a hand shower 7 is connected to the mixer faucet 2 in a conventional manner.
  • the mixing of cold water and hot water takes place in the mixer faucet 2, and the corresponding mixed water is fed to the hand shower 7 or to the overhead shower 3.
  • the head shower 3 is fed through the plumbing line 1, which in this case is correspondingly single-channel Line 9 is inserted from a flexible conduit material, such as a flexible plastic tubing material or a flexible metal material.
  • the wall section line housing 8 has a substantially rectangular cross-section and is open along its wall side to a width that allows the introduction of the flexible line 9 into the housing cavity, so that it does not have to be pushed in axially from the housing end face.
  • the shower arm line section 1b also includes a rigid, hollow line housing 10 made, for example, as a zinc die-cast part, into which a flexible line (not shown) made of a bendable line material is inserted.
  • This flexible line opens into the overhead shower 3 on the outlet side and is coupled on the inlet side by means of a conventional line connection in the area of the wall mount 4 to the outlet end of the line 9 accommodated in the wall line section 1a.
  • the line housing 10 of the shower arm section 1b consists of a base body 10a and a housing wall realized here as a top-side housing cover 10b, which is detachably attached to the base body 10a by means of screw connections 11.
  • the flexible shower arm line is inserted into the shower arm base body 10a, where it is correspondingly bent by approximately 90° in the angled area of the base body 10a.
  • bendable line material By using bendable line material, the bend can be produced when the flexible line is laid in the housing base body 10a, so that it is not necessary to prefabricate a line with this bend.
  • the housing cover 10b is placed on the base body 10a and fixed to it by means of the screw connections 11 .
  • the inserted line can be fixed to the housing base body 10a by appropriate fixing or guiding means, or at least guided laterally.
  • the shower arm line and the wall-side line 9 can each be provided with suitable connection nipples at the ends in order to connect them to one another and/or to provide suitable connections to the overhead shower 3 on the one hand and the mixer faucet 2 on the other.
