- roller blinds of the type described herein provided with a self-locking system are widely known in the market, the system relating to a "Security device for roller doors and blinds" disclosed by the Spanish utility model 10009454 being an example of it, it basically consists of an attachment section between slats with a curved section, the longitudinal ends of which are wound in opposite directions, determining open connections suitable for being coupled with the possibility of rotating in the semi-connections provided at the longitudinal ends of the slats such that, when dealing with an upward thrust of the lower slat, said section crossed the guiding channels of the blind blocking its opening.
- blinds the slats of which are provided with gaps or windows covered with a swivelling cover such that it allows regulating the degree of opening of said gaps are also known in the state of the art, International Application number WO2006037594 relating to a louvered roller blind body being an example of it.

Abstract
Description
- The present invention relates to a coupling element between blind slats which are attached by the mentioned coupling elements forming a blind.
- The invention focuses on a coupling element between slats to form a roller blind such that the slats run between side guides. Said blind has, as a result of the coupling elements attaching the slats, a self-locking system for preventing its forced raising and a blocking system for blocking the holes existing in the slats. Said blocking system arranged in the coupling element has collapsible and swivelling covers which allow regulating the opening of the holes provided in the slats.
- The field of application of the present invention is encompassed within the technical sector of the industry dedicated to blind manufacturing.
- In relation to the state of the art, it must be pointed out that roller blinds of the type described herein provided with a self-locking system are widely known in the market, the system relating to a "Security device for roller doors and blinds" disclosed by the Spanish utility model
10009454 - On the other hand, blinds the slats of which are provided with gaps or windows covered with a swivelling cover such that it allows regulating the degree of opening of said gaps are also known in the state of the art, International Application number
WO2006037594 relating to a louvered roller blind body being an example of it. However, the blind described in said document has certain aspects which can be improved, especially those relating to the particular design of the articulated couplable ends of the different parts forming the blind slats since they present difficulties in rolling up about the shaft. Specifically, the swivelling slats, due to their structural configuration in which the hook-shaped curvatures of said ends are all pointed towards one and the same direction, they cause the swivelling covers of the slats to open when they are wound about the shaft of the blind causing the inadequate rolling of the assembly. - As has been pointed out above the present invention proposes a coupling element between self-locking blind slats with holes having a swivelling cover coupled by the coupling element above. Said slats, coupled to one another, run between side guides and are provided with slats with holes which are attached to one another by the mentioned coupling elements. Said coupling elements are provided with collapsible and swivelling covers which allow regulating the opening of the holes in the blind slats for adjusting the entry of light and/or ventilation and the particular configuration of which in turn provides the self-locking system for preventing the forced raising of the blind, acting by means of adjusting by gravity, as well as better blind operation, since it does not have rolling difficulties, since the swivelling slats are not opened when they are wound about the shaft, something which could otherwise prevent the blind from being wound correctly. Likewise, the coupling element allows, as a result of a pin or protrusion arranged therein, a correct rolling up of the blind slats about the roll up shaft of the blind by preventing the opening of the collapsible covers during said rolling up.
- Therefore, a first object of the present invention is a coupling element comprising an S-shaped configuration determined by: a hook-shaped open lower circular sector which is open towards the inner part of the blind for being coupled to the upper end of a blind slat for forming a first hinge; an hook-shaped open upper circular sector, being open towards the outer part of the blind for being coupled to the lower end of a blind slat for forming a second hinge; a cover protruding from the lower circular sector and curved consistent with the curvature of the body of a slat; and at least one protrusion or pin in at least one of the circular sectors to prevent the coupling element from rotating when rolling up the blind.
- The constitution or shape of the coupling element enables that when said coupling element receives an upward thrust in its lower circular sector, said coupling element rotates with respect to its geometric centre blocking the opening of the cover and consequently blocking the raising of the blind because the coupling element crossed the guide channel of the blind. When forcing the blind upwards once it has been lowered, said thrust causes the coupling body to rotate forcing the cover to separate from the slat body, which in turn causes said cover to cross the guide channel of the blind.
- Likewise, the pin arranged in one of the circular sectors, preferably the upper circular sector, blocks the cover while rolling up the blind about the roll up shaft, enabling a correct rolling up of the blind and solving the problem which would be created by opening any of said covers while rolling up which would cause the system to be blocked when the blind was unwound or lowered. While rolling up the blind, the covers of the coupling element tend to open during said rolling up since to be able to complete it, the cover must pivot on the upper longitudinal end of the blind slat, a place where the pin or protrusion of the coupling element acts to prevent the opening of the cover while rolling up the blind.
- Such advantages are achieved as a result of the particular design of the couplable longitudinal ends of the different elements making up the blind, i.e., the slats and the coupling elements incorporating the covers, further allowing collapsing said swivelling covers.
- Finally, it is worth highlighting that the blind preferably works with a two-step motor, such that first the blind is lowered completely and second the swivelling covers of the slats are gradually opened.
- The proposed blind further has a configuration making it compatible with the main types of standard guide on the market as well as with the most common assembly systems, also allowing the integration of a mosquito net thereon.
- To complement the description which is being made and for the purpose of aiding to better understand the features of the invention according to a preferred practical embodiment thereof, a set of drawings is attached as an integral part of said description in which the following has been depicted with an illustrative and non-limiting character:
-
Figure 1 shows a cross-section view according to a vertical cross-section of a section of the self-locking slat blind with holes with swivelling cover object of the invention, depicted in its locking position in the side guide, the main parts and elements it comprises as well as the configuration and arrangement of said parts and elements being able to be seen. -
Figures 2 and3 show respective cross-section views of a blind slat according to the invention with its corresponding swivelling cover depicted inFigure 2 with said cover completely closed and inFigure 3 with the cover open, the configuration of the ends of the slat and of the coupling longitudinal edge of the cover being able to be seen in detail. -
Figures 4 and5 show respective views of the slats with the cover closed and open shown in the preceding figures, depicted in respective perspective views. -
Figure 6a shows a blind with the coupling elements object of the invention during the rolling up process. -
Figure 6b shows a rolled up blind with the coupling elements object of the invention. - A preferred embodiment of the invention comprising the parts and elements described in detail below can be seen in view of the mentioned drawings and according to the reference numbers used.
- As seen in said figures, the blind (1) in question is configured from a group of slats (2) running in respective upward and downward movements housed between side guides (3) for being rolled up about an upper shaft (19), said slats (2) being attached to one another by their respective upper longitudinal end (4) and lower longitudinal end (5) by means of the interposition of a coupling element incorporating a cover (6). In addition to covering the holes (7) made in the central area of the slats (2) in a swivelling manner, said cover has a coupling body (8) which articulates with the mentioned upper longitudinal end (4) and lower longitudinal end (5) of the adjacent slats such that it allows them to be rolled up on the shaft without the cover being opened and in the event of an eventual upward thrust of the lower slat, is located cross-wise between the side walls of the guides (3) locking the raising of the blind.
- As seen in
Figures 2 and3 , the body (9) of the slat (2) has a curved convex configuration, seen from the front or outer part (F) of the blind, its lower longitudinal end (5) having a G-shaped configuration determined by a curved section (10), a tongue (11) which closes towards the inside of said section and an opening (12) oriented towards the inner side of the slat (2), while its upper longitudinal end (4) has a helical configuration oriented towards the outer part of the slat (2), where the centre has a thicknessing (13) and the entry channel (14) opens towards the outer part (F) of the blind (1). - In turn, the cover (6), the lower area(15) of which is curved consistent with the bend of the body (9) of the slat (2) for being adapted to it and fitted on the holes (7), has a coupling body (8) the configuration of which is S-shaped, being determined by a circular sector (16) in its lower part extending on the mentioned lower area (15) of the cover, and a hook-shaped upper circular sector (17) having a smaller dimension.
- It is important to highlight that the mentioned lower circular sector (16) of the coupling body (8) is open towards the inner part of the blind, such that the entry gap (18) thereof is coupled to the upper end (4) of the slat (2), the thicknessing (13) thereof being inserted therein. Said upper circular sector (16) is further attached in its lower part to the lower area (15) of the coupling body such that a quarter of a circle (16a) of said sector penetrates the entry channel (14) of the upper end (4) of the slat, allowing a rotation of the cover (6) with respect to the slat (2).
- In turn, the hook (17) forming the upper part of this coupling body (8) adapts to and penetrates the lower end (5) of the slat (2) allowing an articulated movement of both elements.
- The coupling body or element can also comprise at least one protrusion (20) in at least one of the circular sectors to prevent rotation thereof while rolling up the blind slats (2) preventing an incorrect rolling up. Said pin or protrusion (20) prevents the opening of the covers (6) on the slats (2) while rolling up the blind for thus preventing the locking of the assembly during said rolling up. Specifically, said pin or protrusion (20) is located in the circular sector (17), between the opening of the lower circular sector (16) where the upper end (4) of the slat (2) is housed and the bend of said upper circular sector (17). The covers (6) of the coupling element (8) tend to open while rolling up the blind, and since for completing said rolling up the cover (6) must pivot on the upper longitudinal end (4) of the blind slat (2), the pin or protrusion (20) acts at that point while rolling it up, thus preventing the opening of the cover (6) since it prevents the opening of the cover while rolling up the blind.
- Finally, it must be mentioned that an eventual upward thrust of the blind positions the mentioned coupling body (8) cross-wise between the walls of the guide (3) which locks the blind, the lower part of the larger circular sector (16) and the upper part of the hook (17) in addition to the upper edge (18) of the G determining the lower end (5) of the slat (2) being those which abut with the inner surface of said side walls of the guide (3), as seen in
Figure 1 .
