Using a user interface the user can thus select the washing programs from a predetermined list. In this regard, especially in high-end washing machines, a large number of washing programs are present in an attempt to meet the demands of a diverse clientele as much as possible. This has a drawback in that the control unit must be endowed with sufficient memory to accommodate all the washing programs. Moreover, this renders the user interface of the washing machine more complex and managing this interface might not be very straightforward, above all for some users (for example the elderly, visually impaired, etc.).
