Definitions
- the invention relates to the technical sector of firearms and in particular repeating rifles with manual or automatic rearming.
- Such a firearm generally includes a carcass; a gun mounted with one end on the carcass; in this end a chamber for housing a cartridge; a cylinder head provided with a cocking lever and slidably mounted in the carcass in the barrel extension between an open position for loading a cartridge into the barrel chamber and a closed position abutting against the barrel; a latch secured to the yoke for locking the cartridge in the chamber; and at least one return spring for returning the bolt to its closed position.
- the arming of such a rifle is made by the rearward movement in front of the bolt, that is to say, from the open position of the bolt towards the closed position of the bolt under the effect of the spring of recall.
- This movement of the bolt causes a new magazine cartridge or a new cartridge placed manually in front of the barrel chamber to introduce it into the chamber. This movement also causes the latch to rotate to lock the cartridge in the chamber before firing.
- the reverse movement of the breech back and forth that is to say the recoil movement, ensures the unlocking of the cartridge in the barrel chamber and the extraction from the chamber of this cartridge in order to be able to chamber possibly a new cartridge or to allow the maintenance of the weapon.
- the recoil movement of the bolt can be controlled manually by operating on the cocking lever to empty the weapon or to feed a new cartridge into the chamber or automatically or semi-automatically using the gas pressure developed by burning the powder in the cartridge during a firing.
- the return spring is a conventional compression spring whose resistance to the backward movement increases gradually during the backward movement backwards, requiring increasing effort.
- the patent application GB09914 of 1912 relates to a rifle using a return spring for the bolt, fixed with one end to the bolt and with the other end on a fixed axis, in the form of a torsion spring formed by a flat ribbon wound in the form of a spiral around the axis, the turns not being in mutual contact to allow the spring to exert a torsional force.
- the invention aims to overcome these inconveniences and provide a simple and safe rearming device when the bolt automatically returns to its closed position as soon as it is no longer retained by the shooter via the cocking lever.
- the return spring is a tension spring of the so-called constant force type which is mounted between the yoke and a fixed support relative to the carcass and the barrel.
- the characteristic of the constant force spring is that the user feels a constant resistance during the recoil of the cylinder head to disarm the weapon, which results in greater comfort of use and greater stability between shots.
- the constant force return spring is preferably composed of a flat ribbon wound on itself around a winding axis transverse to the axis of the barrel in the form of a flat spiral with contiguous turns in contact. mutual.
- the spiral unfolds while being able to rotate freely around its winding axis, the inner free end of the return spring not being retained in rotation, which implies a retaining force almost constant to resist unwinding.
- the spring is mounted on a spool so as to be able to pivot freely about a transverse axis mounted in the casing, the outer end of the spring being fixed to the barrel, preferably at the level of the handguard support. whose barrel is usually provided.
- the outer end of the spring can be fixed to the barrel by means of a locating pin which extends parallel to the axis of the barrel and in a centering bore provided in the housing when the latter is in the closed position.
- the breech-housing assembly is thus centered each time a cartridge is loaded into the chamber of the barrel.
- several springs of constant strength whose forces are cumulative.
- the spring is confined in a housing which is integral with the cylinder head and which is slidably mounted in the handguard by means of at least one slide branch connecting the casing to the bolt.
- each return spring 15 is composed of a flat ribbon 16 of constant rectangular section and wound on itself around a winding axis YY 'transverse perpendicular to the axis of the barrel 6, in the form of a flat spiral with the turns close to each other or in contact with each other.
- Each return spring 15 is mounted on a spool 17 pivotally about a transverse axis 18 coaxial with the winding axis YY 'perpendicular to the axis XX' of barrel 6 and the general plane of symmetry of the weapon 1 so that the inner free end 19 of the spring 15 can pivot freely about the axis YY '.
- each spring 15 is bent at an angle and is provided with a passage for a locating pin 21 which is provided with a larger diameter head 22 which is housed in a bore of the support of hand guard 12 and which is held in place by a locking screw 24.
- the free end 19 'of the springs 15 are fixed to the barrel by means of a holding plate 25 which is slid on the locating pin 21 and which is held in place by a retaining circlip 26.
- the location axis 21 extends parallel to the axis XX 'of the barrel 6 in front of a centering bore 27 of the housing 13, the location axis 21 being provided with a conical inlet 28.
- the firearm may be provided with a magazine 29 shown schematically in dotted line in the figure 5 , which can contain a series of cartridges and to reload one by one the cartridges by a movement back and forth of the breech.
- a breech stop lever is pivotally mounted in the carcass stopping the breech in a rear locking position via the slide legs when the magazine 29 is devoid of cartridges.
- the operation of a weapon according to the invention is similar to the operation of a conventional weapon.
- the socket of the drawn cartridge is extracted from the chamber 7 and is ejected.
- the return springs 15 are at the same time unrolled and put under constant tension.
- the force required to roll back the cylinder head 8 will be mainly constant, thanks to the choice of constant force return springs 15, which gives greater comfort to the shooter.
- the locating pin 21 Towards the end of the movement of the bolt 8 towards the barrel 6, the locating pin 21 enters the conical inlet 28 of the centering bore 27 of the casing 13, favoring the centering of the casing 13 in the handguard 11.
- the springs 15 can be mounted in opposite directions by mounting the wound portion on the coils 17 in a fixed manner relative to the barrel 6 and the yoke 8 and fixing the free end of the springs 15 directly or indirectly to the breech 8.
- the presence of a coil 17 and an axis 18 is not mandatory.
- the springs 15 can be retained in the housing 13 by other means, for example by being confined in a volute formed by the housing 13.
- the so-called constant force springs 15 need not be made by springs in the form of a coiled flat ribbon.

Description
- une carcasse 2;
- une sous-garde 3 qui est montée partiellement dans la carcasse 2 et qui comprend un mécanisme de percussion non-représenté qui est actionné par une détente 4;
- une crosse 5 montée à une extrémité de la carcasse 2;
- un canon 6 monté sur l'autre extrémité de la carcasse 2 avec un axe longitudinal X-X';
- une chambre de munition 7 dans l'extrémité du canon 6 qui est montée sur la carcasse 2 et pouvant loger une cartouche;
figure 2 et une position reculée comme représentée dans lafigure 5 permettant de charger une cartouche dans la chambre 7; - un verrou 10 solidaire de la culasse permettant de verrouiller la cartouche dans la chambre par le mouvement linéaire de la culasse;
- un garde-main 11 fixé au canon 6 par l'intermédiaire d'un support de garde-main 12;
- un boîtier 13 relié à la culasse 8 au moyen de deux branches de glissières 14, le boitier 13 pouvant coulisser dans le garde main sous l'action du mouvement linéaire de la culasse, le garde main 11 couvrant le boitier 13 et les branches de glissières 14;
