  • This will specifically account for the circumstance worn that when sucking and before the actual paint promotion, the single-piston pump 20 initially and as long as the delivery volume 32 is not completely filled with paint, conveyor only emits air. Because this represents a compressible medium, but the paint to be delivered is in contrast incompressible, the incipient paint delivery on the delivery side of the single-piston pump 20 results in a corresponding pressure increase in the delivery chamber 32 of the single-piston pump 20 at the moment in which the delivery chamber 32 is completely covered with lacquer is filled. In order to be able to determine this point in time, the single-piston pump 20 is assigned a pressure sensor 46 on the delivery side for determining the delivery pressure.

  • the signal generator 48 is designed to output a control signal in the event that the delivery pressure exceeds a system-dependent adjustable limit of, for example, 0.5 bar. By specifying this limit, the control signal issued by the signal generator 48 is thus characteristic of a distinction as to whether the delivery chamber 32 of the single-piston pump 20 is completely filled with lacquer or not.
