Definitions

  • the invention relates to a color changer having at least one valve block for connecting a plurality of coating material lines with an application device, wherein the valve block has a housing designed as a parallelepiped and wherein the housing has a central color channel with an axial direction and valve bores for receiving valves.
  • color changer or color changing devices which have a central color channel, which is connected to the application device, and having a plurality of ink supply lines, can be fed through the different paints of different colors to the color channel.
  • the supply of ink through these ink supply lines is usually controlled by - preferably pneumatically controllable - valves. These valve holes are provided in a valve block of the color changer, in which these valves can be used. When actuated, ie as required, the valves release the passage from the respective ink feed line to the central ink duct. In this way, in each case the color channel can be opened, through which the currently required paint is supplied. In many applications, a supply of paints with more than 10 or 20 different colors may be necessary be.
  • Such a color changer device or exchange unit for coating material is for example from EP 1 859 872 A2 known.
  • the central color channel Before each color change, the central color channel must be cleaned of residues of the previously used lacquer. In this way it is ensured that varnishes of different colors do not mix directly after the change, whereby the quality of the coating would be severely impaired.
  • the removed during the cleaning of the paint channel from the paint channel paint is effectively broke and thus lost paint that can not be used for painting.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object to provide a color changer, which is realized in a particularly compact design, so that the length of the central color channel can be kept as low as possible with a simultaneous supply of as many paint supply lines.
  • a first number of substantially parallel valve holes in the ink channel opens at first junctions
  • a second number of substantially parallel valve holes on the opposite side of the paint channel and offset in the axial direction to the first number of valve holes opens at second junctions in the color channel
  • a third number of substantially parallel valve holes in the color channel opens at third junctions, each with a first and a third confluence in the same axial position in the color channel
  • a fourth number of substantially parallel valve bores in the color channel opens at fourth junctions, each a fourth and a second confluence in the same axial position open into the color channel.
  • the invention is based on the consideration that an essential design criterion for the length of the central color channel is given by the spatial position and positioning of the valve holes for the pneumatically controllable valves.
  • these valves for example, as in the EP 1 859 872 A2 disclosed arranged in two opposite with respect to the central color channel rows, the length of the paint channel with each pair of valves, wherein the valves are arranged on respective opposite sides of the paint channel, respectively by at least the width of the valve bore.
  • color changer with 16 or more different color leads are difficult or impossible to realize because the color changing device is too long and too heavy.
  • the central ink channel would be so long that the lost in the cleaning amounts of paint would prohibit an economic use of such a color changer.
  • a compact housing with a short color channel can be realized by an optimized spatial arrangement of the valve holes around the paint channel.
  • An extremely compact construction of the color changer can be achieved, in particular, by arranging valves not only in two groups lying on opposite sides of the color channel, all of these valves lying in one plane, for example, but also introducing further groups of valves to the color channel.
  • the first two groups of valve bores should be offset from each other in the axial direction of the paint channel. In this way, one of the other valve bores at the same axial position can always open into the paint channel like a valve bore of one of the first two groups.
  • the dimensioning of the color changer increases in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the color channel.
  • the length of the central ink channel is extended only slightly by the axial offset of one of the two groups relative to the other with respect to a design with only two arranged on opposite sides of the paint channel valve groups.
  • the first, second, third and fourth number of valve bores form valve bore rows, the first and the third, the second and the fourth, and the third and fourth valve bore rows forming an acute angle to one another.
  • row is meant that the valve holes are aligned parallel with respect to their central axis and the central axes are also in a common plane.
  • the acute angle should in each case be present between the corresponding central axes of the valve bores.
  • each two adjacent in-line valve bores are preferably always the same.
  • the minimum distance between two adjacent valve holes must meet several criteria. On the one hand, it should be as small as possible in order to minimize the length of the central color channel. On the other hand, the distance should be large enough to accommodate the valve actuation cylinders / pistons, whose diameter must be oriented to the commonly available 6 bar of compressed air, and to prevent paint leakage between different paint supply lines through the housing of the valve manifold.
  • valve holes must be accessible from the outside of the housing in order to use them in valves.
  • a very compact design of the color changer can be realized with a parallelepiped housing, wherein the first and the second valve holes on opposite parallelepiped surfaces exit from the housing, and wherein the third and the fourth valve bores on a square surface perpendicular to these cuboid surfaces of the housing to step. That is, on two opposite parallelepiped surfaces occur half as many valve holes from the housing as on the perpendicular surface. For a good accessibility of the valve bores, it is advantageous if the valve bores occur at this area each near the edge of this surface of the housing.
  • the valve block has a total of 16 valve holes. Correspondingly many supply lines for paint are provided, so that it is possible to choose between 16 different colored paints.
  • four valve bores of the first, second, third and fourth numbers are advantageously provided in each case. These each form preferably Ventilbolrungs Herbertn.
  • the distance between the paint channel start and its end should be as small as possible.
  • the distance in the axial direction of the channel between Farbkanalterrorism and Farbkanalende is less than 120 mm.
  • the housing of the valve block advantageously has a plurality of supply openings for the supply of paint.
  • the color changer advantageously further comprises a paint connection plate, which has paint supply channels, which open into connections for paint supply lines.
  • the paint connection plate is preferably screwed to the housing of the valve block, wherein in the screwed state, the paint supply channels connected to the connections for paint supply lines are connected to the supply openings. In this way, all supply lines for paint can be separated by unscrewing the paint connection plate of the housing in a simple way and at the same time.
  • Each of the supply openings for the supply of paint in the housing is assigned in each case a valve bore. The respective set in the valve bore valve is required, the connection between the inlet opening and the central color channel free.
  • the paint terminal plate may include paint discharge pipe terminals, the paint discharge pipes and the paint supply pipes being connected to circulate the paint.
  • the paint should circulate when the connection between paint supply line and paint channel is blocked.
  • check valves are advantageously arranged in the paint connection plate in the paint supply channels. Furthermore, it is advantageous to prevent the paint from running out of the paint connection plate during its disassembly from the valve block.
  • check valves may be arranged in the paint connection plate in the paint supply channels, which prevent this run out.
  • each check valves can be arranged in the paint supply channels, both a reflux of paint from the valve block in the respective paint supply line and a run out of the paint from the paint connection plate at her Disassemble disassembly of the valve block.
  • these check valves are designed as flutter valves.
  • a plurality of valve channels are advantageously provided in the housing of the valve block.
  • a valve channel is advantageously associated with a valve bore.
  • a drive plate may be provided, which has a plurality of connections for control channels for valves, wherein the drive plate is screwed to the housing of the valve block and wherein in the screwed state, the drive channels are connected to the valve channels.
  • pneumatically controllable valves are used in the valve bores, which are each connected via the valve channels with a common compressed gas line, wherein in the control plate solenoid valves are used, which release the connection between the common gas line and the respective control channels if necessary , and wherein a control unit electrically connected to the electrovalves for controlling the solenoid valves is provided.
  • the pressurized gas, by which the pneumatically controllable valves are controlled as needed, is thus guided in a common line to the valve channels.
  • the compressed gas line is advantageously connected to the control plate, so that the gas is passed through the compressed gas line in the control plate and is passed from there further through the control channels for valves in the valve channels.
  • solenoid valves are used in the control plate, which release the connection between the respective valve channel and the common compressed gas line, if necessary.
  • the control of the solenoid valves is carried out by a common control unit.
  • This control unit can be designed, for example, as a bus-capable microcontroller which communicates via a bus connection with a higher-level programmable logic controller.
  • Such a common supply of compressed gas simplifies the construction and installation of a color changer compared to conventional systems in which a separate compressed gas line must be set for each valve channel.
  • An inventive color changer in a preferred embodiment therefore has two valve blocks and a central block with an application line on, wherein the color channel of the respective valve block is guided in each case via a connecting line in the center block and is connected to the application line for connection to the application device, and wherein for each connecting line in each case a pneumatically controllable release valve is provided, the connection between the respective connecting line and the application line opens and disconnects.
  • a color changer with only one valve block can be provided in this way twice the amount of different colored paints.
  • connection to only one of the two valve blocks can be established by the pneumatically controllable release valve. Even with the now double the number of available paint colors is due to the construction with a center block to which the two valve blocks are respectively connected, the paint rejects not larger, since two separate color channels are provided. If the valve block had simply been extended, the color channel would have grown to twice its length.
  • a color changer can be realized in a compact design by the arrangement of four valve groups to a central color channel and in which the length of the central color channel can be kept as low as possible, so that the paint committee, the every time you change color, it can be kept as small as possible.
  • additional rejects can be avoided, both the run-off of paint during disassembly of the paint connection plate and the unwanted mixing of paint can be prevented in leakage within the valve block.
  • valve block 2 for a color changer has a cuboid housing 8. Between a front surface 14 and one of the front surface 14 opposite rear surface (not shown) extends a central ink channel 20.
  • a total of sixteen valve holes 26, 32, 38, 44 are inserted, can be used in the pneumatically controllable valves.
  • the housing 8 further sixteen supply openings for the supply of paint are embedded.
  • one supply opening 50 is in each case associated with a valve bore 26, 32, 38, 44.
  • the valve block 2 is designed to minimize the length of the central color channel between the front surface and the rear surface so as to minimize the paint scrap resulting from color changes.
  • the required compact design of the valve block 2 is made possible by a special arrangement of the valve holes 26, 32, 38, 44, which will be described below. Since the valve bores 26, 32, 38, 44 are significantly larger in length and diameter than the supply openings 50, they are significantly responsible for the dimensioning of the valve block 2 and thus also of the entire color changer.
  • valve holes 26 open into the central ink channel 20.
