- the present invention relates to a method for detecting rotation of a dishwasher spray arm and a dishwasher adapted to perform such a method.
- the proper rotation of the spray arm thus can be reliably determined, basically by counting the peaks of the signal received from the vibration sensor and comparing the peak count with an expected value which is a design parameter for the specific dishwasher. While there may be situations wherein a signal peak is generated which is not directly associated to a rotation of the spray arm but which may be caused for example by an incidental impact of water jets that are reflected from articles within the dishwasher tub onto which a jet of cleaning liquid is sprayed, the predetermined target range for the count value should include some tolerance range which in the example referred to above wherein the spray arm rotates at a speed of 38 rpm may be selected as ⁇ 6 peak counts when measuring for a time period of one minute.
- the target range for the count value could be selected for example as the standard rotational speed ⁇ 2 rpm, wherein it is determined that the spray arm correctly rotates if the count value falls within such target range.
- the measuring cycle is repeated or a further more detailed evaluation routine is conducted. While a similar safety range could be provided at the lower end of the target range it of course is also possible to provide such a safety range in which the evaluation is repeated or altered only at one end of the target range.
Claims (16)
- Verfahren zum Erkennen der Drehung eines Spülmaschinensprüharms, wobei das Verfahren Folgendes aufweist:(a) Erkennen von während des Betriebs des Geschirrspülers erzeugten Vibrationen,(b) Vergleichen des Niveaus der erkannten Vibrationen mit einem im Voraus bestimmten Schwellenwert, und Erhöhen eines Zählwerts in Abhängigkeit davon, ob das Niveau der erkannten Vibrationen den im Voraus bestimmten Schwellenwert übersteigt;(c) Vergleichen des Zählwerts, der während einer im Voraus bestimmten Zeitperiode erhalten wird, mit einem im Voraus bestimmten Zielbereich; und(d) Bestimmen, dass eine Störung der Drehung des Sprüharms vorliegt, wenn der Zählwert außerhalb des im Voraus bestimmten Zielbereichs liegt.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei in Schritt (b) der Zählwert nur dann erhöht wird, wenn das Niveau der erkannten Vibrationen den im Voraus stimmten Schwellenwert während einer im Voraus bestimmten Zeit übersteigt.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, wobei Schritt (b) ferner nach dem Erhöhen des Zählwerts ein Warten auf eine im Voraus bestimmte Abtastperiode und danach ein weiteres Erhöhen des Zählwerts, wenn das Niveau der erkannten Vibrationen den im Voraus bestimmten Schwellenwert übersteigt, aufweist.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 3, wobei die Abtastperiode auf einer Zielfrequenz der Drehung des Sprüharms basiert.
- Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei in Schritt (d) bestimmt ist, dass der Sprüharm mit einer Drehzahl rotiert, die sich von der Konstruktionsdrehzahl unterscheidet, wenn der Zählwert innerhalb eines im Voraus bestimmten Bereichs liegt, der höher oder niedriger ist als der im Voraus bestimmte Zielbereich.
- Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei in Schritt (a) ein von einem Vibrationssensor bereitgestelltes Spannungssignal in ein logisches Signal umgewandelt wird.
- Verfahren nach Anspruch 6, wobei in Schritt (a) das Spannungssignal in ein Transistor-Transistor-Logik- (TTL-)-Signal umgewandelt wird.
- Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, ferner aufweisend ein Bestimmen eines Effektivwerts (RMS-Werts) von mehreren in Schritt (a) ausgeführten Messungen und Anwenden des so erhaltenen Effektivwerts (RMS-Werts) in Schritt (b) als Niveau der erkannten Vibrationen.
- Geschirrspüler (10), aufweisend eine Reinigungswanne (12) zur Aufnahme von zu reinigenden Gegenständen, mindestens einen innerhalb der Reinigungswanne zum Richten einer Reinigungsflüssigkeit auf die zu reinigenden Gegenstände angeordneten Sprüharm (16) und einen Vibrationssensor (24) zum Erkennen von während des Betriebs des Geschirrspülers erzeugten Vibrationen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Geschirrspüler (10) ferner Mittel zum Erkennen einer Drehung des Sprüharms (16), wobei das Mittel zum Ausführen des Vorgangs nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche angepasst ist.
- Geschirrspüler nach Anspruch 9, wobei der Vibrationssensor (24) einen piezoelektrischen Schocksensor aufweist.
- Geschirrspüler nach Anspruch 9 oder 10, wobei der Vibrationssensor (24) angepasst ist zum Erzeugen eines Spannungsausgangssignals, das im Wesentlichen proportional der durch eine mechanische Vibration des Sensors verursachten Beschleunigung des Sensors ist.
- Geschirrspüler nach einem der Ansprüche 9 bis 11, wobei der Vibrationssensor (24) auf der Außenseite der Wanne (12) angebaut ist.
- Geschirrspüler nach Anspruch 12, wobei der Vibrationssensor an einer Seitenwand (26) der Wanne (12) angebaut ist.
- Geschirrspüler nach Anspruch 13, wobei der Sprüharm (16) mindestens eine treibende Düse (20) zur Ausgabe eines Wasserstrahls in einem Winkel zur Rotationsachse (22) des Sprüharms aufweist, und wobei der Vibrationssensor (24) an einer Seitenwand (26) der Wanne (10) auf ungefähr einer Höhe, auf der der von der treibenden Düse ausgegebene Wasserstrahl auf die Seitenwand der Wanne auftrifft, angebaut ist.
- Geschirrspüler nach einem der Ansprüche 12 bis 14, wobei der Vibrationssensor (24) auf der Außenseite der Wanne (12) durch eine im Wesentlichen starre Verbindung angebaut ist.
- Geschirrspüler nach Anspruch 15, wobei der Vibrationssensor (25) direkt an der Außenseite der Wanne (12) angeklebt ist.
