Description

The present invention relates to a reed and a weaving machine for weaving pattern in fabrics with additional pattern effects.

In weaving machines, it is known in the prior art to include additional threads, which run essentially in the warp direction, in such a way to the weave that certain additional pattern effects are achieved. For this purpose, these effect threads are placed in the weft direction in a predetermined position prior to the entry of a weft thread for each cycle of movement of the loom.

A weaving machine with which such additional pattern effects are produced includes at least one guide means for one or more effect yarns connected to a displacement device. As a result, the effect yarns are displaceable together with the guide means in the weft direction about a displacement path predetermined by a weave pattern. At the weaving machine such devices are further provided for web-pattern dependent vertical movement of the guide means and a Webblatteinrichtung for striking the weft thread to a fabric edge by means of a stop movement. Such a device shows, for example, the EP 0 957 191 B1 ,
Tissue of this type is also referred to as additional weft effects, since the additional pattern effect is primarily that the effect threads extending essentially in the warp direction are shifted and set in the weft direction relative to the base warp threads.

In the prior art, reeds with reed teeth are known, which form unilaterally open up Rietlücken such that effect threads that extend substantially in the warp direction, with a vertical movement in these Rietlücken on and can dive again. Such a reed shows, for example, the EP 263 392 B1 ,
In this device, however, in the stop movement of the reed, all threads running in the warp direction, ie base warp threads and effect threads, emerge from the reed gaps and reenter them.

When immersing an effect thread into an open reed gap, problems can arise, especially with coarser yarns, since the effect thread can get caught on one of the reed teeth, which delimit this reed gap.

The US 4 429 722 A discloses a reed in which an upwardly open Rietlücke is formed between each two groups of several, at both ends connected reed teeth. The reed teeth of each of these groups are connected at their upper end by a bevelled connector. The connector forms the Rietlücke towards an edge on which a hanging in the Rietlücke upward thread can get stuck.

Object of the present invention is to provide a reed for a loom, in which the formation of additional pattern effects, the immersion of effect threads runs smoothly in the upwardly open Rietlücken a reed.

In the context of the present application is intended to such weave patterns in which a bevy of warp threads for a basic pattern is constantly immersed in Rietlücken, even if these warp threads are moved to shedding perpendicular to the weft direction and also during the stop movement of the reed Reed dissolved according to the independent claim.

The reed has reed teeth that are lined up by combining their lower ends in a reed collar in a longitudinal direction of the reed such that the upper ends of the reed teeth form unilaterally open-top reed gaps. The reed is according to the invention characterized in that there are several groups of reed teeth, each reed tooth of a first group of Reed teeth has a pointing in the longitudinal direction of the reed insertion at its upper end. This insertion bevel is designed such that it covers the upwardly facing opening of an adjacent Rietlücke at least partially. Furthermore, a second group of reed teeth is present, which have no such insertion bevels.

Through the insertion bevel according to the invention, the immersion of effect threads is ensured in the desired Rietlücke, while unintentional immersion in an adjacent Rietlücke is prevented.

In an advantageous embodiment, the insertion bevel of the reed teeth of the first group pointing in the longitudinal direction of the reed is configured such that the upward-facing opening of one or more adjacent open reed gaps and the upper end of one or more adjacent reed teeth belonging to the first group belong to the first group Insertion be covered at least partially. This also prevents the effect threads from getting caught on the upper ends of the adjacent reed teeth.

In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the insertion bevel of the first group of reed teeth is formed as a tapered tongue-like extension of a reed tooth, which is angled in the longitudinal direction of the reed relative to the remaining reed tooth. This shape is easy to manufacture and ensures the desired function.

When using effect threads that are significantly coarser than the warp threads for the basic pattern, it is advantageous that the Rietlücken that are limited by a reed tooth with insertion and are not covered by an insertion, in the longitudinal direction of the reed have a greater width than the Rietlücken, which are covered by an insertion bevel. Thus, immersion of the coarser effect threads in the space provided Rietlücken is facilitated without the introduction of base warp threads is impaired too much in the reed.

For the same reason, it may be advantageous to provide the reed teeth with insertion bevel in the longitudinal direction of the reed with a greater thickness than the reed teeth without insertion bevel.

In order to get greater freedom in the patterning of the fabric with additional pattern effect, it makes sense that between two reed teeth with an insertion bevel one or more reed teeth are provided without insertion bevel. It is particularly advantageous if the groups of reed teeth with and without insertion be strung together in the longitudinal direction of the reed such that a pattern repeat of the different reed teeth and the associated Rietlücken arises, which repeats over the width of the reed. As a result, regular patterns can be created in which areas with and without additional pattern effect can alternate.

A weaving machine according to the invention is equipped with shedding elements, the vertical movement of which forms a weaving shed bounded by warp threads. Furthermore, means for inserting a weft thread into the shed in a weft direction are provided, as well as a Webblatteinrichtung for striking the weft thread to a fabric edge by means of a stop movement having two end positions. To form the additional pattern effect guide means are provided for effect threads, as well as means for moving the guide means in the weft direction and means for vertical movement of the guide means. According to the invention, a reed with two groups of reed teeth is provided in the manner described above. This reed is attached to the Webblatteinrichtung so that the warp threads are retractable in Rietlücken and that the effect thread can enter and dive into those upwardly open Rietlücken that are not covered by Einführschrägen on reed teeth.

In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the loom according to the invention, the guide means are movable in a plane which is arranged between the shedding elements and the end position of the stop movement, which is closer to the shed forming elements.
When using standard heddles as shedding elements, the guide means are thus between the reed and Webschäften. The guide means may be formed, for example, as needles, which are arranged on the front of an additional weaving sheave in the weft direction together displaceable in a displacement device, wherein the vertical movement of said guide means is derived from the vertical movement of the additional weaving shank. In this embodiment, it is of course conceivable to move several groups of guide means on each of a displacement device together or opposite to each other. This is for example through the use of separate Displacement drives for each of these groups possible. It is also possible to attach several groups of guide means to different heald frames.

In the following, advantageous embodiments of the invention will be explained in detail with the aid of the figures.
FIG. 1

FIG. 2
Execution after FIG. 1 on a weaving machine in a view in the weft direction
FIG. 3
Weaving machine with reed according to the invention in a plan view

FIG. 1 shows a reed 4 with Rietzähnen 5, which are summarized at its lower end in a Rietbund 6. The manner in which such a reed collar 6 is designed is known to the person skilled in the art and therefore need not be explained here. In the embodiment, an embodiment with a U-profile and two coil springs is shown, in whose turns, the reed teeth 5 are inserted. The upper end of the reed teeth 5 is left free, so that upwardly open Rietlücken 8 are formed. In these Rietlücken 8 warp threads 1 are fed. Some of them are in the upper compartment, ie at the upper end of the reed teeth 5, while others are in the lower compartment near the Rietbund 6. In the present example, these are each drawn in the same Rietlücke 8. In addition, effect threads 2 are shown which are in FIG. 1 above the warp threads 1 and above the upper ends of the reed teeth 5 are located. So that immersion of the effect threads 2 in the respective Rietlücken 8 is facilitated, according to the invention insertion bevels 7 are provided at the upper ends of certain reed teeth 5. These chamfers 7 point in the longitudinal direction of the reed 4, wherein this longitudinal direction coincides when installed in the loom with the weft direction 12. By this shaping of reed teeth 5, at least the opening of an adjacent Rietlücke 8 more or less covered. in the Embodiment of FIG. 1 even several openings of Rietlücken 8 and the upper ends of the adjacent reed teeth 5 are covered without insertion bevel 7.
There are two groups of reed teeth 5 to recognize, of which have an inventive insertion bevels 7, while the others without insertion bevels 7, which point in the longitudinal direction of the reed, are designed.
In FIG. 1 It can also be seen that the Rietlücken 8, in which an effect thread 2 is passed during immersion, in the longitudinal direction of the reed 4 have wider openings than the Rietlücken 8, in which only warp threads 1 are retracted. This is based on a further embodiment, which is particularly suitable for processing different thicknesses of effect threads 2 and warp threads 1.
The direction in which the chamfers 7 are, according to the invention, the longitudinal direction of the reed 4. This means that an approximated from above the insertion bevel 7 effect thread 2 in the longitudinal direction of the reed 4 to the opening of the adjacent Rietlücke 8 is passed.
Unlike in FIG. 1 illustrated, it is also conceivable that the insertion bevels 7 of the reed teeth of the second group in the longitudinal direction in opposite directions show, if this makes sense for the weave pattern in question and the nature of the effect threads.
The insertion bevels 7 are formed in a particularly favorable embodiment as extensions of the reed teeth 5, which are angled in the production of the reed 4 in the longitudinal direction by a predetermined angle. Of course, instead of a jerky transition, it is also possible to provide a rounded or differently shaped transition between the reed tooth 5 and the insertion bevel 7.

FIG. 2 shows a view of the embodiment of the reed according to the invention 4 according to FIG. 1 on a weaving machine with a viewing direction in the longitudinal direction of the reed 4 or in the weft direction 12 of the weaving machine.
Here it can be seen that one or more effect threads 2 are guided by one or more guide means 10 arranged next to one another in the weft direction 12, which in the present example have the form of a needle with an eyelet at the lower end. To form a binding point with the weft thread 3, the respective guide means 10 with the effect thread 2 before the weft insertion into the lower compartment brought so that the effect thread 2 comes to lie during the weft insertion parallel to the lower group of warp threads 1 and thus is crossed by the weft thread 3. For this purpose, the effect thread 2 immersed in a Rietlücke 8, which is formed by mutually adjacent reed teeth 5. Thus, the immersion is facilitated, at least one of the two adjacent reed teeth 5 at its upper end to the insertion 7. In the present example is off FIG. 2 recognizable that the insertion bevel 7 is formed as a tongue-like on a tip to running extension of the reed tooth 5. Accordingly, additional contours can also be present on the insertion bevel 7, which point in the warp direction, that is to say that these contours can be angled or bent in the warp direction relative to the vertical longitudinal extension of the reed teeth 5. Such contours pointing in the warp direction are, of course, also conceivable on the second group of reed teeth 5, which do not have an insertion bevel 7 pointing in the longitudinal direction of the reed 4.

After the entry of the weft thread 3 in the shed this is struck by a stop movement of the reed 4 to the fabric edge 13. During this, a change of the warp threads 1 from the top to the bottom can also take place, depending on what is specified by the weave pattern of the intended fabric. The change of the warp threads 1 is made in the present example by vertically moving shedding elements 9. This can be, for example heddles with healds or Jaquard healds, which are each driven pattern-dependent by a known, not shown shedding machine.
Now also the effect thread 2 can be raised with the guide means 10 until it emerges from the Rietlücke 8 above the warp threads 1 and the guide means 10 is moved in the weft direction 12 of the weaving machine by a predetermined amount before the effect thread 2 is immersed in another Rietlücke 8 to form another bond point with a weft yarn 3 to be subsequently inserted.

FIG. 3 shows a loom with inventive reed in a plan view. It's just a partial view with a single effect thread.
It is also in FIG. 3 a further section of the loom with viewing direction in the weft direction shown, the further details for the execution of the guide means 10 with the associated displacement device 11 contains.

In FIG. 3 It can be seen that the weft insertion takes place in the weft direction 12 by a gripper by means of a gripper bar or a rapier band in the present example. Of course, the weaving reed 4 according to the invention can also be used on an air-jet weaving machine in which a channel-like recess is provided between the upper and lower ends of the reed teeth 5 in a known manner, forming a weft insertion channel for weft thread 3 to be introduced with air jet. On the formation of the insertion bevel 7 according to the invention, this has no effect.
In FIG. 3 It can also be seen that the warp threads 1 are guided in groups of two shed elements 9. Furthermore, it can be seen that the guide means 10 is arranged for the effect thread 2 at the front of an additional compartment picture element 9. There it is guided by a displacement device 11, for example a sectional steel on a prismatic guide. Of course, a plurality of guide means 10, which are moved in parallel in the weft direction 12, can also be arranged on the displacement device 11. The drive of the displacement device via a displacement drive 14 which is connected to a control device 15 of the loom. Thus, a displacement A and the vertical movements of the compartment picture elements 9 and the associated guide means 10 by means of a binding cartridge and a derived therefrom programming of the control device 15 are given pattern dependent. Of course, other types of reeds 4 with upwardly open Rietlücken 8 can be used on such a weaving machine. However, the processing of coarse effect threads 2 is significantly improved by the use of a reed 4 with the insertion bevels 7 according to the invention, which point in the longitudinal direction of the reed 4.
