Description

The present invention relates to an apparatus for launching targets and finds particular application for launching targets for archery.

This last discipline has recently developed and traditionally offers archers the opportunity to test their accuracy on fixed targets. There are also devices for launching suitable targets, particularly for the projection of targets of the clay pigeon type. These devices generally comprise a rotary launching arm capable of ejecting a target. The target, before launch, is placed on a substantially horizontal plate.

There is a need to improve cooperation between the launch area of the aircraft and the target. Another problem posed by existing machines is that their adjustment is complex and often impossible in particular to change the trajectory of the target.

The document US 1,552,192 describes a device for target launch. A portion of the device on which the target is in contact during its projection is mobile. This mobility is intended to change the projection angle of the target. The displacement of this portion is a simple pivoting.

The document EN-A1-2.587.473 relates to a target launcher apparatus comprising a wheel rotatably mounted above a launch pad in which the targets are brought vertically. The wheel catches the targets one by one and throws them. The ramp is fixed and has a substantially rectilinear shape, the targets being intended to be launched flush with the ground.

The present invention overcomes all or part of the disadvantages of techniques known hitherto for launching targets.

In particular, an object of the invention is to provide a target launching apparatus having an improved launching zone with specific contact between the target and a bearing surface, in combination with a relative position of the particular launching arm.

Another object of the invention is to allow the adjustment of the trajectory of the target by easily adjustable means. In particular, according to a preferred embodiment, the exit angle of the target can be adjusted by simply moving a small and light weight part without requiring, for example, the mobility of a large part of the device. and for example the target storage system still called barrel.

With reference to the figure 1 It should be noted that the apparatus according to the invention may comprise a base 7 which may be a welded structure, although it is only an illustrative possibility, and may be equipped with gripping means such as a handle as well as with wheel 8. Is mounted on the base a launch assembly mainly comprising a launch arm 1 rotatably mounted about an axis 4. In the case shown, the axis 4 is substantially horizontal. Conventional actuating means can be used to drive the launching arm 1 in rotation. Thus, the launching arm 1 can cooperate with a tensioned spring thanks to a motorization and able to be expanded on command to operate the projection of the target 2.

The latter, although this case is not limiting, is advantageously a target of the tray type of substantially cylindrical flattened made of plastic material and more particularly of polymer foam in one or more layers. The preferentially circular shape of the section of the target 2 allows a rolling movement on a bearing surface as described in detail below.

Above the launch zone, a barrel 5 is provided in the case shown to allow the loading and the successive delivery of targets 2. As is known for clay pigeon casting apparatus, the cylinder 5 shown comprises a plurality parallel rods and delimiting substantially cylindrical volumes for receiving targets 2 superimposed. The barrel 5 is rotated by means independent or coupled with the driving means of the throwing arm so that, when a throw is desired, the barrel 5 is rotated to cause the delivery of a target 2 in the direction of the launch zone near the arm 1. Thus, in the case of the figure 1 , the barrel 5 overcomes an inclined ramp 6 for delivering an exit target of the barrel 5 to a loading zone 9 at which the target 2 can descend along a chute 10 to a stop 11 capable of countering following his descent.

It is easily understood that at this stage the launching arm 1 can be actuated so as to project the target 2 thus positioned. In the case illustrated, the launch arm 1 comprises at its distal end a roller 3 of substantially circular section and advantageously pivotally mounted relative to the rest of the launching arm 1 so as to rest on the target while maintaining freedom of movement in own rotation.

According to the invention, a bearing surface 12 is provided to accompany the projection movement of the target 2. For this purpose, the bearing surface 12 is located below the launch arm 1 and is configured to receive a target 2 by its slice. The bearing surface 12 has a longitudinal profile (that is to say oriented in the direction of the views of the Figures 1 to 9 , in a plane transverse to the axis of rotation 4 of the throwing arm). The concave longitudinal profile thus has a cradle shape adapted to receive the target 2 and guide it during its projection movement to ensure the regularity of the guide, the bearing surface is advantageously in an arc. Moreover, to preserve a constant spacing between the distal end of the throwing arm 1 and the bearing surface 12, the arc of the circle in question is preferably centered on the axis of rotation 4. This situation is not given as an example. In particular, if it is desired to vary the rotation effects applied to the target, an offset can be made or adjusted.

The width of the bearing surface 12 is not limited but is advantageously equal to or slightly greater than the thickness of the portion of the target 2.

As shown in the various figures, the apparatus comprises a base piece 13 having a flank 14 oriented substantially perpendicular to the bearing surface 12 so as to constitute a limiting surface of the deflection of the target 2 bearing on the bearing surface 12. Furthermore, the base part 13 constitutes a first portion of the bearing surface 12. Advantageously, this first portion is located upstream of a second portion in the direction of rotation of the throwing arm when it is in the projection phase. Thus, the first portion formed in the base piece 13 constitutes the first support element which receives the target 2 during its projection. The support is continued by a second portion formed in another room here constituted for example by a flap 15. The illustrated flap 15 comprises a flank portion 16 facing vis-à-vis the sidewall 14 of the base part 13 so as to constitute a limitation to the movement of the target 2 by the target face 2 opposite the face opposite the sidewall 14. In addition, the flap 15 comprises the second portion involved in the production of the surface of support 12.

In the case shown, the flap 15 is capable of mobility here in rotation relative to the fixed base part 13 in the example with respect to the base 7 of the launcher. The rotational mobility provides the possibility of an adjustment of the relative position of the flap 15 and the base part 13. More specifically, these two constituent parts of the apparatus are capable of fitting with a variable amplitude so as to modify their overlap surface at the level of the bearing surface 12. In other words, by a movement of the flap 15, the bearing surface 12 can be shortened by passing a part of the second portion of the bearing surface 12 in superposition (advantageously from below the first portion of the bearing surface 12) in overlap of the base part 13. By modifying the overlap surface between the two portions of the bearing surface, the configuration thereof is modified and the exit angle of the projected target.

Any means for adjusting the rotation of the shutter 15 is within the scope of the invention. For example, the flap 15 is pivotally mounted about an axis advantageously parallel or identical to the axis of rotation 4 of the throwing arm 1. In addition, there is provided means for stopping the rotation of the flap 15 so as to immobilize it when the desired angular position of the flap 15 is reached.

The figure 4 shows an angular position of the flap 15 in which the latter is substantially folded around the base piece 13 so that the first and second portions of the support surface overlap widely. Under these conditions, the active bearing surface 12 for receiving the target 2 is essentially constituted by the first portion located on the base part 13. The arc of the bearing surface is thus reduced, the ejection of Target 2 as presented to the figure 5 is carried out in a substantially horizontal direction being specified here that the illustrated embodiment ensures that the downstream end of the first portion of the bearing surface 12 on the base part 13 is substantially opposite the arm of launch 1 when it is in the vertical position or so that the tangent to the arc at this end downstream is substantially horizontal. In this way, the ejection of the target 2 is substantially horizontal.

Ainsi, la direction de sortie est modifiée telle que représentée en figure 7.The figure 6 shows another possible position of the flap 15, slightly turned clockwise so as to increase the size of the bearing surface 12. It is understood that the target 2 bears longer on the support surface 12 because the latter is increased by the second portion located on the flap 15. Thus, the exit direction is modified as shown in FIG. figure 7 .

A third example of relative position of the flap 15 and the base piece 13 is presented in figure 8 with a flap 15 still raised in a clockwise direction. In this configuration, the arcuate bearing surface forms a sector of the order of 140 to 170 ° along which the target 2 is made to rest. Due to the orientation of the flap 15, the exit direction of the target 2 is much more vertical as revealed by the figure 9 .

The amplitude of variation of the bearing surface 12 is not limited according to the invention. Advantageously, it is arranged that the exit direction of the target 2 (that is to say the direction of the tangent to the arc of the bearing surface at the end downstream of the -ci) can vary between the horizontal and the vertical or an amplitude of the order of 90 °. It is understood that such an amplitude can cover a large number of shooting opportunities for the exercise of shooters including archers.

Note also that the flap 15 is a part remaining integral with the rest of the device and can be easily adjusted. Thus, the user does not need a long time and complex manipulation to change the orientation.

Note that the adjustment control flap 15 can be motorized so as to automate the entire control of the device. Nevertheless, both the adjustment of the flap 15 and the target loading and launch phases can be performed entirely manually.

The figure 10 illustrates an alternative to the principle of the flap 15. In this case, the second portion is integral with a carrier in the form of carriage 19 shown in the form of a metal section provided with guide means in a slide (20). Advantageously, the carriage 19 is guided at each of its ends and as well from the rear, at the base piece 13 as from the front, at a side panel 18, substantially parallel to the base piece. and may constitute a surface or flank 16 for contacting a target face. The slide 20 is advantageously formed of two arcuate lights, one of the lights being on the base piece 13, the other on the pan 18. The arc of the circle is drawn along the axis of rotation of the arm 1 in a preferred case. Other means of adjusting the second portion are possible without departing from the invention according to the claims.
