Claims (9)

  1. Cooking appliance having a cooking chamber (2), which is delimited by walls (4 to 8) of a muffle (3) and has a loading opening (9) on the front face, said loading opening (9) being delimited peripherally by a front edge (13) of the muffle (3), having a door (10), having a lighting apparatus (12) with at least one light source (18a to 18d),
    wherein the at least one light source (18a to 18d) embodied for lighting up the cooking chamber (2) and/or for displaying information is disposed outside of the cooking chamber (2) and in front of the front edge (13) of the muffle (3) when the cooking appliance (1) is viewed from the front,
    characterised in that
    - the light source (18a to 18d) is disposed on a support (14, 15) connected to the front edge (13) of the muffle (3) and a decorative strip (16, 17),
    - the at least one light source (18a to 18d) is disposed between the front edge (13) of the muffle (3) and the decorative strip (16, 17) of the cooking appliance (1) disposed in front of the front edge (13) when viewed from the front,
    - the light source (18a to 18d) is concealed by the decorative strip (16, 17) when the cooking appliance (1) is viewed from the front,
    - the light source (18a to 18d) is disposed in such a manner that when a door (10) closing off the cooking chamber (2) is in a closed state, it is disposed at the side of the door (10), and the support (14, 15) has a reflector (22) for reflecting the light from the light source (18a to 18d) into the door (10) closing off the cooking chamber (2),
    - the door (10) has a light-reflecting surface (23, 24) and when the door (10) is in the closed state, the light from the light source (18a to 18d) can be directed by way of the reflecting surface (23, 24) into the cooking chamber (2) to illuminate it.
  2. Cooking appliance according to claim 1, characterised in that the reflecting surface is a mirror (23, 24) disposed between an inner door pane and an outer door pane.
  3. Cooking appliance according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that at least two first light sources (18a to 18d) are configured, which are disposed one below the other in such a manner that, when the door (10) of the cooking appliance (1) is open at least, they serve respectively to illuminate and/or display an assigned cooking chamber level.
  4. Cooking appliance according to claim 3, characterised in that the first light source (18a to 18d) is configured to generate light in a first spectral range visible to humans and the at least second light source (18a to 18d) is configured to generate light in a second spectral range visible to humans that is different from the first.
  5. Cooking appliance according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that a light source (18a to 18d) is disposed in such a manner that, when the door (10) is open, its light cone is directed at least partially forward and downward.
  6. Cooking appliance according to claim 5, characterised in that the light cone is oriented in such a manner that, when a food holder (19 to 21) projects partially forward out of the cooking chamber (2), it is oriented to light up the top face of the projecting part of the food holder (19 to 21).
  7. Cooking appliance according to claim 5 or 6, characterised in that the at least one light source (18a to 18d) is disposed in a movable manner and the light cone can be pivoted as a function of the opening of the door (10) and/or the at least partial removal of the food holder (19 to 21) from the cooking chamber (2).
  8. Cooking appliance according to claim 5 or 6, characterised in that at least one further light source is arranged adjacent to a light source (18a to 18d) for lighting up the cooking chamber (2) and/or displaying information, wherein the light cone of the further light source is directed forward and downward at least in sections when the door (10) is opened and the further light source can be activated by opening the door (10) and/or removing the food holder (19 to 21) from the cooking chamber (2).
  9. Cooking appliance according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the at least one light source is a light-emitting diode (18a to 18d).
