Claims (14)

  1. System comprising an electronic display and an arrangement for mounting the electronic display (30) at the centre of a rotary switch (12), the arrangement comprising:
    - a support mounting plate (18),
    - an electrical connection device (74) which is arranged on the mounting plate (18) in order to connect the display (30) to a control electronic circuit,
    - a cylindrical housing (32) which is mounted on the mounting plate (18) and which forms the fixed central body of the rotary switch (12),
    - a rotor-forming annular body (34) which is mounted to rotate on the cylindrical housing (32) about an axis (A1) so as to form a rotating part of the rotary switch (12),
    characterized in that the cylindrical housing (32) includes a receptacle (46) provided to receive the display (30) by transverse insertion (A2), relative to the axis (A1) of the rotary switch (12) and in that the receptacle (46) includes slideway means (54) which cooperate with complementary portions of the display (30), said complementary portions comprising two mounting plates (56, 58), one of which is wider than the other, which forms a lateral tread (60) provided to be received in the slideway means (54), so as to allow the insertion of the display (30) into the receptacle (46) by transverse sliding (A2).
  2. System according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the profile of the complementary portions and the profile of the slideway means (54) are capable of fulfilling a polarising function to prevent the display (30) from being mounted the wrong way round.
  3. System according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cylindrical housing (32) includes, at its top axial end, a transverse wall (50) provided with a window (52) delimiting the display area of the display (30).
  4. System according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a protective window (62) is mounted on the top axial end of the cylindrical housing (32), after insertion of the display (30) into the receptacle (46) through a transverse opening (49), and in that the protective window (62) comprises at least one axial fixing tongue (64) which extends across the transverse opening (46) in order to prevent any exiting of the display (30) through said opening (49).
  5. System according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the electrical connection device (74) comprises a flexible connector (74) made of elastomer which is provided to be compressed axially between connection bump contacts (75) of the mounting plate (18) and connection bump contacts (77) of the display (30).
  6. System according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a plinth (68) is arranged on the mounting plate (18), in the central space inside the cylindrical housing (32) so that, upon the assembly of the cylindrical housing (32) on the mounting plate (18), the display (30) rests on an axial end portion of the plinth (68).
  7. System according to Claims 5 and 6 taken in combination, characterized in that the flexible connector (74) is mounted in the plinth (68).
  8. System according to one of Claims 6 or 7, characterized in that the plinth (68) comprises at least one tenon (72) which is provided to cooperate with the display (30) in order to retain it transversely (A2) in the receptacle (46).
  9. System according to one of Claims 6 to 8, characterized in that the plinth (68) is made of opaque material and comprises an internal duct (76) which extends axially from a light source (78) arranged on the mounting plate (18) to the bottom face facing the display (30) so as to optimise the back lighting of the display (30) by the source (78) by minimising the leaks of light.
  10. System according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the support mounting plate (18) is a printed circuit plate.
  11. Control panel (10), notably for a motor vehicle dashboard, comprising a frame (16) on which are mounted:
    - a support mounting plate-forming printed circuit plate (18),
    - an intermediate plate (22) which comprises housings for several switches (12, 14), and
    - an outer façade (28),
    characterized in that in that it comprises a system according to any one of the preceding claims in which the cylindrical housing (32) is made of a single piece with the intermediate plate (22).
  12. Method for assembling a control panel (10) according to the preceding claim, characterized in that it comprises the following successive steps:
    - transverse insertion of the display (30) into the cylindrical housing (32) belonging to the intermediate plate (22) by transverse sliding (A2) in the slideway means (54),
    - mounting of the intermediate plate (22) on the outer façade (28),
    - mounting of the printed circuit plate (18) on the intermediate plate (22),
    - mounting of the frame (16) on the printed circuit plate (18) and assembly of the frame (16) with the intermediate plate (22) and the outer façade (28).
  13. Method according to the preceding claim, characterized in that it further comprises a step of mounting of a protective window (62) on the cylindrical housing (32) just after the transverse insertion (A2) of the display in order to protect the display (30) during the subsequent assembly operations.
  14. Method according to one of Claims 12 or 13, characterized in that it further comprises a step of mounting of a plinth (68) on the mounting plate (18), in a central space inside the cylindrical housing (32) before the step of mounting of the intermediate plate (22) on the outer façade (28) so that, upon the assembly of the cylindrical housing (32) on the mounting plate (18), the display (30) rests on an axial end portion of the plinth (68).
