  • a similarly structured, designed as a lifting device vacuum holding device is from the DE-B-1 186 597 known. It has a plurality of suction pads, for example, formed by suction plates, which are connected via a suction line to a vacuum storage, which can be evacuated by a vacuum generating device consisting of a vacuum pump and an electrically driven drive motor. With the help of a manually operated control valve device, the
  • the suction pad can optionally be subjected to negative pressure or vented. In this way, it is possible to suck a plate-shaped object for purposes of handling temporarily to the suction pads and hold. By displacing the vacuum holding device, the retained object can in particular be raised and repositioned.
