Definitions
- the invention relates to a surface cleaning head for cleaning a surface, with a hood-like, downwardly open housing in which at least one spray arm is rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation, wherein the spray arm carries a cleaning nozzle, which is acted upon via a supply line with pressurized cleaning liquid and together with the spray arm revolves around the axis of rotation for applying liquid to the surface to be cleaned, and with a jet pump for sucking liquid applied to the surface, the jet pump having a pressurized cleaning liquid acted upon jet nozzle to form a suction flow.
- Such a surface cleaning head is from the US 4,895,179 known.
- the spray lance of a high-pressure cleaning device can be connected to the surface cleaning head so that the cleaning nozzle arranged on the spray arm can be supplied with pressurized cleaning fluid from the high-pressure cleaning device.
- the cleaning nozzle By means of the cleaning nozzle, the cleaning liquid can be sprayed onto the surface to be cleaned.
- the nozzle experiences a recoil, so that the spray arm is rotated about the axis of rotation.
- at least two diametrically opposed spray arms are used, each carrying a cleaning nozzle, wherein the nozzles are acted upon simultaneously with pressurized cleaning liquid.
- the known surface cleaning head on a jet pump which operates on the principle of a Venturi pump. It comprises a jet nozzle, which can also be acted upon by pressurized cleaning liquid and thereby forms a suction flow.
- a drain line connects to the jet pump. The suction flow gives the possibility of liquid applied to the surface to be cleaned Absorb with the cleaned dirt and dispense via the drain line.
- a liquid distributor arranged with an input to which the spray lance of the high-pressure cleaner can be connected, and having a first and a second output.
- a further line can be connected, which is connected to the jet nozzle.
- the jet nozzle itself is positioned above the housing of the surface cleaning head and above the housing connects to the jet pump, the drain line. Via a suction line, the negative pressure generated by the jet nozzle can act on the surface to be cleaned, so that suctioned via the suction line liquid from the surface and the drain line can be supplied.
- the upper side are thus from the of US 4,895,179 known surface cleaning head from two lines, which must be connected to the spray lance of the high-pressure cleaner. This complicates the handling of the surface cleaning head and increases the risk of interference.
- a further surface cleaning head in which in addition to cleaning nozzles, which are rotatable about an axis of rotation, a jet nozzle is used, which operates on the Venturi principle.
- the cleaning nozzles are arranged within a hood and laterally adjoins the hood to a suction with the jet nozzle. Outside the housing run two branch lines through which the cleaning nozzles and the jet nozzle can be acted upon with pressurized cleaning liquid.
- the publication DE 100 66 009 A1 describes a further surface cleaning head, which in addition to cleaning nozzles, which are rotatably mounted about a rotation axis, a jet pump for sucking the liquid applied to the surface to be cleaned.
- the jet pump is arranged laterally next to a housing which covers the cleaning nozzles, and is acted upon by a running outside the housing branch line with pressurized cleaning liquid.
- the publication DE 25 37 004 A1 describes a surface cleaning head, in which by means of a nozzle device, a high pressure liquid jet can be directed at an acute angle to the surface to be cleaned.
- the surface cleaning head has a collecting device, in which the liquid is collected after rebounding from the surface.
- the collecting device has a slot-shaped inlet channel.
- the lower wall of the inlet channel terminates in an edge which, during operation of the surface cleaning head, can be adjusted to contact the surface in front of the area where the liquid jet impinges.
- the liquid jet reflected back from the surface forms a jet pump in combination with the inlet channel, without the use of a separate jet nozzle.
- Object of the present invention is to develop a surface cleaning head of the type mentioned in such a way that it is easier to handle and patisunan perennialistics.
- the surface cleaning head according to the invention has a supply line which can be connected to a supply line, for example to the spray lance of a high-pressure cleaning device. Via the supply line, both the at least one cleaning nozzle and the jet nozzle can be supplied under pressure cleaning fluid.
- the supply line thus serves the common supply of cleaning liquid for the at least one cleaning nozzle and for the jet nozzle. This facilitates the handling of the surface cleaning head, since the user must connect, for example, the spray lance of the high-pressure cleaning device only to the supply line, then both the at least one cleaning nozzle and the jet nozzle are in flow communication with the high-pressure cleaner.
- the jet nozzle is arranged in the surface cleaning head according to the invention in the housing. This additionally facilitates the handling of the surface cleaning head and makes it herebysunag virtually no risk that the jet nozzle or its supply line to be damaged when guiding the surface cleaning head along the surface to be cleaned.
- the integration of the jet nozzle in the housing of the surface cleaning head allows a particularly compact design.
- the supply line is held on a manifold, which is connected via a running within the housing first branch line with the at least one cleaning nozzle and a second branch line extending within the housing with the jet nozzle.
- the distributor is arranged in the housing of the surface cleaning head.
- the jet nozzle is thus connected via a arranged within the housing branch line with the feed line.
- the arrangement of the branch line in the housing, the branch line is protected from mechanical damage and the flow path from the supply line to the jet nozzle can be chosen very short.
- the jet nozzle is aligned perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the spray arm.
- a suction flow oriented transversely to the axis of rotation of the at least one spray arm can be achieved, so that suctioned-up cleaning fluid can be delivered in the radial direction to the drainage line by means of the jet nozzle relative to the axis of rotation.
- the surface cleaning head has a suction nozzle, which is positionable in alignment with the jet nozzle and at a distance therefrom, wherein the jet nozzle-side inlet region of the suction nozzle is arranged in the housing.
- the suction nozzle absorbs the cleaning liquid spattered by the jet nozzle, whereby, according to the known Venturi principle, a suction flow directed into the suction nozzle is formed in the intermediate space between the jet nozzle and the inlet region of the suction nozzle. Since the inlet region of the suction nozzle is arranged in the housing of the surface cleaning head, thus liquid from the interior of the housing can be sucked directly into the suction nozzle. This allows a particularly effective extraction of cleaning fluid and cleaned dirt from the surface to be cleaned. The aspirated liquid and dirt can be removed via the suction port.
- the arrangement of the inlet region of the suction nozzle at a distance from the jet nozzle has the additional advantage that over the entire circumference of the inlet region of the suction nozzle, a suction flow can be generated, so that liquid from all directions can be supplied to the suction nozzle. This enhances the achievable suction effect.
- the outlet of the suction nozzle protrudes out of the housing. This makes it possible to connect the suction nozzle outside the housing with the drain line through which the sucked liquid can be discharged.
- the suction nozzle is detachably connectable in an advantageous embodiment of the invention with the housing of the surface cleaning head. This gives the possibility to connect the suction nozzle as needed to the housing and to separate it from the housing.
- the suction nozzle is used in such an embodiment only when liquid is to be sucked from the surface to be cleaned. However, such suction is not necessarily required in every case. If no suction is to take place, the suction nozzle can be detached from the housing.
- the suction nozzle passes through a passage of the housing. Via the passage, the inlet-side end region of the suction nozzle can be introduced into the housing, wherein it can be aligned with the jet nozzle and occupy a position at a distance from the jet nozzle.

- the at least one cover element can release the passage and the suction nozzle can pass through the passage and, aligned with the jet nozzle, can assume a position at a distance from the jet nozzle.
- At least two cover elements are used, which are each movable between a cover position and a release position back and forth.
- the cover elements in the covering position are positioned so that they completely cover the passage in their entirety. This ensures that no liquid can escape through the passage, as long as the suction nozzle is detached from the housing.
- the at least one cover element is conveniently movable against the action of a restoring force from the covering position into the release position.
- the restoring force ensures that the at least one cover element, starting from the release position, automatically assumes its covering position, provided that the restoring force does not counteract any holding force.
- a holding force can for example be exerted by the suction nozzle when it is connected to the housing.
- restoring force is preferably a spring force is used.
- the covering device has at least one spring element.
- the at least one cover element is advantageously mounted pivotably. It is advantageous if the pivot axis is aligned perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the suction nozzle.

Via the supply line, both the at least one cleaning nozzle and the jet nozzle can be supplied under pressure cleaning fluid. The supply line thus serves the common supply of cleaning liquid for the at least one cleaning nozzle and for the jet nozzle. This facilitates the handling of the surface cleaning head, since the user must connect, for example, the spray lance of the high-pressure cleaning device only to the supply line, then both the at least one cleaning nozzle and the jet nozzle are in flow communication with the high-pressure cleaner.
The jet nozzle is arranged in the surface cleaning head according to the invention in the housing. This additionally facilitates the handling of the surface cleaning head and makes it störungsunag virtually no risk that the jet nozzle or its supply line to be damaged when guiding the surface cleaning head along the surface to be cleaned.
In addition, the integration of the jet nozzle in the housing of the surface cleaning head allows a particularly compact design.
In addition, can be reduced by the arrangement of the jet nozzle in the housing whose distance from the surface to be cleaned. This enhances the suction effect caused by the jet nozzle in the region of the surface, thereby improving the cleaning result. A suction line, via which the jet nozzle to be sucked liquid is supplied, can be omitted.
The supply line is held on a manifold, which is connected via a running within the housing first branch line with the at least one cleaning nozzle and a second branch line extending within the housing with the jet nozzle.
Conveniently, the distributor is arranged in the housing of the surface cleaning head.
The jet nozzle is thus connected via a arranged within the housing branch line with the feed line. The arrangement of the branch line in the housing, the branch line is protected from mechanical damage and the flow path from the supply line to the jet nozzle can be chosen very short.
In an advantageous embodiment, the jet nozzle is aligned perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the spray arm. As a result, a suction flow oriented transversely to the axis of rotation of the at least one spray arm can be achieved, so that suctioned-up cleaning fluid can be delivered in the radial direction to the drainage line by means of the jet nozzle relative to the axis of rotation.
It is advantageous if the surface cleaning head has a suction nozzle, which is positionable in alignment with the jet nozzle and at a distance therefrom, wherein the jet nozzle-side inlet region of the suction nozzle is arranged in the housing. The suction nozzle absorbs the cleaning liquid spattered by the jet nozzle, whereby, according to the known Venturi principle, a suction flow directed into the suction nozzle is formed in the intermediate space between the jet nozzle and the inlet region of the suction nozzle.
The arrangement of the inlet region of the suction nozzle at a distance from the jet nozzle has the additional advantage that over the entire circumference of the inlet region of the suction nozzle, a suction flow can be generated, so that liquid from all directions can be supplied to the suction nozzle. This enhances the achievable suction effect.
Conveniently, the outlet of the suction nozzle protrudes out of the housing. This makes it possible to connect the suction nozzle outside the housing with the drain line through which the sucked liquid can be discharged.
The suction nozzle is detachably connectable in an advantageous embodiment of the invention with the housing of the surface cleaning head. This gives the possibility to connect the suction nozzle as needed to the housing and to separate it from the housing. The suction nozzle is used in such an embodiment only when liquid is to be sucked from the surface to be cleaned. However, such suction is not necessarily required in every case. If no suction is to take place, the suction nozzle can be detached from the housing.
It can be provided that the suction nozzle passes through a passage of the housing. Via the passage, the inlet-side end region of the suction nozzle can be introduced into the housing, wherein it can be aligned with the jet nozzle and occupy a position at a distance from the jet nozzle.
It is favorable if the inlet-side end region of the suction nozzle widens in the direction of the jet nozzle. In particular, a conical enlargement has proven to be advantageous in order to impart the strongest possible suction effect, with the heat of which the surface to be cleaned can be sucked off.
It is particularly advantageous if a cover device is arranged at the passage of the housing with at least one cover element, which between a cover at least partially covering the passage and a release position releasing the passage is movable back and forth. By means of the at least one cover element, the passage of the housing, which can be penetrated by the suction nozzle, at least partially covered when the suction nozzle is detached from the housing. However, if the suction nozzle is used, the at least one cover element can release the passage and the suction nozzle can pass through the passage and, aligned with the jet nozzle, can assume a position at a distance from the jet nozzle.
Conveniently, at least two cover elements are used, which are each movable between a cover position and a release position back and forth.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the cover elements in the covering position are positioned so that they completely cover the passage in their entirety. This ensures that no liquid can escape through the passage, as long as the suction nozzle is detached from the housing.
The at least one cover element is conveniently movable against the action of a restoring force from the covering position into the release position. The restoring force ensures that the at least one cover element, starting from the release position, automatically assumes its covering position, provided that the restoring force does not counteract any holding force. Such a holding force can for example be exerted by the suction nozzle when it is connected to the housing.
As restoring force is preferably a spring force is used. In particular, it can be provided that the covering device has at least one spring element.
The at least one cover element is advantageously mounted pivotably. It is advantageous if the pivot axis is aligned perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the suction nozzle.
In particular, it may be provided that the pivot axis of the at least one cover element is aligned parallel to the axis of rotation of the at least one spray arm of the surface cleaning head.
In order to keep mechanical impairments of the at least one cover element low, it is favorable if the at least one cover element is arranged on the inside of the passage. The cover is thus protected by the housing against mechanical interference.
A particularly simple handling of the surface cleaning head is achieved in an advantageous embodiment in that the at least one cover element can be transferred by inserting the suction nozzle into the passage from its covering position into its release position. The user does not have to manually transfer the cover into its release position in such an embodiment before he can introduce the suction in the passage, but by inserting the suction nozzle, the at least one cover is transferred to its release position.
It can be provided that the at least one cover element rests in the release position on the suction nozzle. The at least one cover can thus be supported directly in the release position on the suction. This increases the mechanical strength of the cover and the entire cover.
As already explained, at least two cover elements are used in an advantageous embodiment of the invention. It is advantageous if two cover elements are coupled together via a spring element. By means of the two covering elements common spring element, the cover elements can be acted upon by a directed into the covering spring force. Contrary to the spring force they can be transferred to their release position.
It can be provided, for example, that two cover elements are coupled to one another via a tension spring.
For example, two cover elements can be connected to one another via a helical spring. The coil spring may be aligned in the covering position of the two cover perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the suction nozzle.
It is particularly favorable if the two cover elements can be pivoted about pivot axes oriented parallel to one another and the helical spring, by way of which the two cover elements are coupled to one another, is aligned perpendicular to the pivot axes.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the suction nozzle is arranged on a drain line which is releasably connectable to the housing. As drain line, for example, a drain hose can be used, which is connected to the suction nozzle.
In particular, it can be provided that the suction nozzle is permanently connected to the drain line.
It can be provided that the suction nozzle forms an end region of the discharge line facing the housing, which can be inserted into the housing via the passage.
On the housing, a connecting element is arranged for releasably connecting the drain line to the housing in an advantageous embodiment of the invention.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the connection element defines the passage of the housing which can be passed through by the suction nozzle. The suction nozzle is insertable into the connection element, it passes through the connection element and can be aligned in alignment with the jet nozzle.
The connecting element can be configured in particular in the form of a pipe socket, which is releasably connectable to a connecting element of the drain line. The connecting element may be formed for example in the form of a union nut, which is placed on the pipe socket. Union nut and pipe socket can form, for example, a bayonet or screw.
It may be provided that the jet nozzle is permanently acted upon by pressurized cleaning liquid, so that when a pressure line of a high-pressure cleaning device to the supply line of the surface cleaning head permanently pressurized cleaning liquid is discharged from the jet nozzle.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the admission of the jet nozzle with pressurized cleaning liquid is controllable. For this purpose, a valve device, in particular a shut-off valve, can be used, with the aid of which the flow connection between the supply line and the jet nozzle can be selectively manufactured and interrupted. This gives the user the opportunity to produce and interrupt the loading of the jet nozzle with pressurized cleaning liquid as needed. He can choose whether he wants to suck the sprayed by means of the cleaning nozzles with pressurized cleaning liquid surface or not. If suction is desired, it can provide the flow connection between the feed line and the jet nozzle by means of the valve device. If a suction is not desired, it can interrupt the flow connection.
A particularly strong suction effect is achieved in an advantageous embodiment in that the housing has a downwardly open spray chamber and a laterally adjoining suction chamber, wherein the spray chamber receives the at least one spray arm and the jet nozzle is arranged in the suction chamber. The spray chamber serves to act on the surface to be cleaned with pressurized cleaning fluid. For this purpose, the at least one spray arm is rotatably mounted in the spray chamber, on which a cleaning nozzle is held. Laterally adjoins the spray chamber, the suction chamber, in which by means of the jet nozzle, a negative pressure is generated, so that liquid can be sucked, which was previously applied by means of at least one cleaning nozzle on the surface to be cleaned.
Conveniently, the downwardly open spray chamber is connected via a lateral opening with the suction chamber, which is closed at the bottom. The application of the pressurized cleaning liquid on the surface to be cleaned and the recording of the cleaning liquid together with cleaned dirt from the surface thus takes place via the spray chamber in which the at least one spray arm is mounted and which is connected via a lateral opening with the suction chamber. The latter has no immediate access to the area to be cleaned, because it is closed down.
Preferably, the spray chamber is surrounded by an annular wall which defines a lower-side opening of the housing and has an opening through which the spray chamber is connected to the suction chamber. The ring wall forms the lateral boundary of the spray chamber. The annular wall has an opening through which the suction chamber is connected to the spray chamber.
Preferably, the suction chamber comprises a bottom wall, which is materially connected to the annular wall. In particular, it can be provided that the annular wall and the bottom wall form a one-piece plastic molded part. The cohesive connection of the bottom wall with the annular wall increases the mechanical stability of the surface cleaning head and also allows a reduction in manufacturing and assembly costs.
A further simplification of the handling is achieved in an advantageous embodiment of the invention in that the supply line is pivotable relative to the housing about a pivot axis aligned transversely to the axis of rotation of the at least one spray arm.
The supply line can form a guide part, with the help of which the user can guide the surface cleaning head along the surface to be cleaned. For this purpose, it can be provided that the supply line is designed as a rigid pipe section. Preferably, the supply line is pivotable transversely to the axis of rotation of the at least one spray arm.
A further simplification of the handling is achieved in an advantageous embodiment that are mounted on the housing castors for moving the surface cleaning head along the surface to be cleaned.
In a preferred embodiment, the housing forms a ceiling wall and a peripheral wall of a spray chamber in which the at least one spray arm is arranged, and the housing forms side walls and a bottom wall of a suction chamber in which the jet nozzle is arranged, and the suction chamber is covered by a cover , The ceiling wall and the peripheral wall of the spray chamber, in combination with the side walls and the bottom wall of the suction chamber form a one-piece plastic molding on which the cover of the suction chamber can be placed.
It is advantageous if the housing of the surface cleaning head has an inner housing and an outer housing at least partially overlapping the outer housing, wherein between the inner housing and the outer housing holding elements are arranged, on which steering rollers are held. The inner housing may define the spray chamber, and advantageously also the suction chamber. The outer housing covers the inner housing to form a gap in which holding elements are arranged, on which the steering rollers of the surface cleaning head are held.
It can be provided that the surface cleaning head has three castors.
Conveniently, the outer housing is substantially triangular in plan view, wherein at a rear side of the surface cleaning head at a distance from each other two castors are arranged and wherein an additional steering roller is positioned at the top of the surface cleaning head. Between the two rear castors, the passage of the housing can be arranged, which receives the suction nozzle.
It can be provided that all retaining elements are fixed to the inner housing. Alternatively it can be provided that at least one retaining element is fixed to the outer housing.
It is particularly advantageous if at least one retaining element is integrally connected to the inner housing or the outer housing.
Preferably, at least one retaining element is integrally connected to the inner housing.

Via a
From the
The jet of liquid emitted by the
In the area between the
As already mentioned, for example, the spray lance of a high-pressure cleaning device can be connected to the
By means of the
If liquid applied to the surface to be cleaned is to be sucked off, the user can connect the
The
