- each tie element 10 is constituted by a flexible metal cable, preferably a metal rope, and has one end 10a connected to one side of the movable frame 5 and the opposite end 10b connected to the opposing side of the fixed frame 2.
- each tie element 10 is such as to allow the cover 3 to be rigidly constrained to the fixed frame 2 in the open position, with the side of the movable frame 5 forming an acute angle ⁇ with the opposing side of the fixed frame 2, when the moving means 7 maintain the cover 3 in the open position and tension the tie elements 10 through traction.
- each tie element 10 is substantially equal to and in any case does not exceed the opening stroke of the cover 3 as determined by the moving means 7, so that it is tensioned when the cover 3 is open as shown in Figures 5 and 8 .
- the cover 3 and the tie elements 10 thus create a tensioned and therefore rigid structure which is more resistant to the force of the wind blowing into the skylight.
- tie elements 10 feature different lengths compared to the opening stroke of the cover 3 as imposed by the moving means 7.
- the constraining means also comprise means 11 for coupling the cover 3 when it is arranged in the closed position, in which the moving means 7 hold the movable frame 5 so that it is adherent to and bears against the fixed frame 2, as shown in Figure 1 .
- each of them comprises a hook 12 belonging to the movable frame 5 and a corresponding matching element 13 belonging to the fixed frame 2, which are suited to be coupled with each other when the cover 3 is in the closed position.
- the coupling means 11 are two and are positioned at the level of the side areas of the fixed frame 2 and the corresponding hooks 12, as can be observed in the already mentioned figures, are supported by a rod 16 operatively connected to a manoeuvring unit indicated as a whole by 15.
- This is connected to the moving means 7 and has the function to constrain/ release each hook 12 to/from the corresponding matching element 13, as will be described below.

- brackets 20 there are counter-brackets 30 fixed to the fixed frame 2 and comprising a first counter-bracket 31 supporting a corresponding matching element 13 and arranged at the level of each overlying first bracket 21 and a second counter-bracket 32 supporting the moving means 7 and arranged at the level of the overlying second bracket 22 .
- Each bracket 20 and each counter-bracket 30 have substantially U-shaped profiles and are provided with a holed plate, respectively 21 a , 22a and 31a , 32a for fixing to the frame, respectively to the movable frame 5 and the fixed frame 2 , by means of screws.
- the brackets 20 , 30 can in any case have also different configurations, provided that they are suited to support the rod 16 , the manoeuvring unit 15 , the moving means 7 and the coupling means 11 with the corresponding hooks 12 and matching elements 13 .
- Each one of the latter is constituted by a pin 13a whose external shape can be matched to the profile of the hook 12 and whose ends are constrained to the corresponding counter-bracket 31 .
- manoeuvring unit 15 comprises lever means that mutually cooperate to operatively connect the rod 16 to the moving means 7 , in order to operate the coupling means 11 , as will be described in greater detail below.
- the above mentioned lever means comprise a first lever 40 hinged to the rod 16 and a second lever 50 hinged to the second bracket 22 , wherein one end 40a of the first lever 40 is in contact with one end 50a of the second lever 50 .
- the second lever 50 has a first pin 51 inserted in a pair of circular holes 22c made in the second bracket 22 and a second pin 52 inserted in a pair of slots 22b which are also made in the second bracket 22 , wherein the second pin 52 is arranged between the first pin 51 and the end 50a of the second lever 50 that comes into contact with the first lever 40 .
- the moving means 7 comprise an air-operated actuator 60 hinged to the second counter-bracket 32 and having the end 61 of the rod 62 that cooperates with the second pin 52 of the second lever 50 .
- the actuator 60 instead of being operated by air, can be of any other type, for example electric or operated by another fluid or even mechanic, i.e. hand-operated.
- elastic means that are preferably but not necessarily constituted by one or more torsion springs 70 coupled externally to the rod 16 and having one end 71 in contact with the corresponding first bracket 21 ensure that each hook 12 is arranged in a position normally coupled with the corresponding matching element 13 when the cover 3 is closed.
- each hook 12 is constrained to the corresponding matching element 13 and the movable frame 5 of the cover 3 is arranged against the fixed frame 2.
- the cover 3 is stable and safe thanks to the presence of the constraints constituted by the hooks 12 coupled with the matching elements 13 which in case of strong wind prevent it from opening due to the infiltration of air between the frames or to a pressure drop generated over it.
- the rod 62 during its outward movement, lifts the second lever 50 which, starting from the rest position illustrated also in Figures 9 and 10 , starts rotating clockwise around the first pin 51 as indicated by the arrow O and is lifted as shown in Figures 13, 14 and 15 , forcing the corresponding first lever 40, with which it is in contact, to correspondingly rotate anticlockwise in the direction indicated by the arrow A.
- each hook 12 is released from the matching element 13, as shown in Figure 20 .
- the stroke of the rod 62 and the length L of the tie elements 10 are calculated in such a way that when the cover 3 is open and the rod 62 has reached the maximum extension, the tie elements 10 are tensioned.
- the cover 3, the tie elements 10 and the actuator 60 with its rod 62 interact synergistically and make up a single, tensioned and therefore rigid structure that is resistant to the force of the wind and ensures the stability of the cover 3 when it is arranged in the open position.
- the invention achieves the object to ensure the stability of the cover 3 when it is in the open position.
- the invention also achieves the object to guarantee the stability of the cover 3 when it is in the closed position, thanks to the presence of the coupling means 11.
- the invention also achieves the advantage of reducing the number of components and this ensures that the skylight is more reliable.
