Claims (12)

  1. Apparatus for producing packs (10) for cigarettes, in particular of the hinge-lid box type, having a folding arrangement, in particular a folding turret (23), for folding blanks made of packaging material, in particular thin cardboard, and having a transporting path (24), in particular pack path, for largely completed packs (10) which follows the folding arrangement (23), wherein a glue-applying station (32, 33) with glue subassemblies (34, 35; 40. 41), in particular glue nozzles, for applying glue to folding flaps of the blank is provided in the region of the transporting path (24), characterized by the following features:

    g) the glue subassemblies (34, 35; 40, 41) can be moved linearly between the positions in the vertical direction.
  2. Apparatus according to Claim 1, characterized in that, in a first cleaning position, portions of glue can be discharged in the direction of a common collecting device (49, 57) arranged between the glue subassemblies (34, 35; 40, 41), and/or in that, in a second cleaning position, in particular the glue subassemblies (40, 41) for applying cold glue can be cleaned by abutment against a common cleaning device.
  3. Method of producing packs (10) for cigarettes, in particular of the hinge-lid box type, wherein, in a folding arrangement, in particular a folding turret (23), blanks made of packaging material, in particular thin cardboard, are folded and, in the region of a transporting path (24), in particular pack path, for largely completed packs (10), which follows the folding arrangement (23), glue is applied to folding flaps of the blank in a glue-applying station (32, 33) with glue subassemblies (34, 35; 40, 41), characterized by the following features:
    a) the glue subassemblies (34, 35; 40, 41) are arranged on a common carrying arrangement (44) and are moved together out of a glue-applying position on either side of the transporting path (24), level with the folding flaps (20, 22) which are to be glued, into at least one cleaning position for the purpose of cleaning the glue subassemblies (34, 35; 40, 41).
    b) the glue subassemblies (34, 35; 40, 41 in the or each cleaning position, are arranged in a plane beneath the preferably horizontally directed transporting path (24).
    c) arranged to follow one another along the transporting path (24) are, on the one hand, glue subassemblies (34, 35) for applying cold glue and, on the other hand, glue sub-assemblies (40, 41) for applying hot glue, wherein the respective glue subassemblies (34, 35; 40, 41) are arranged opposite one another on either side of the transporting path (24) for the purpose of applying appropriate glue to preferably upright folding flaps (20, 22) in the region of narrow sides of the pack (10), and wherein the glue subassemblies (34, 35) for applying cold glue, on the one hand, and the glue sub-assemblies (40, 41) for applying hot glue, on the other hand, are moved together in each case into at least one cleaning position.
    d) the glue subassemblies (40, 41) for applying cold glue are fitted on a common first carrying arrangement and are moved therewith between the glue-applying position, for the purpose of applying glue to the blanks, a first cleaning position for the purpose of discharging portions of glue onto the collecting device (57), and a second cleaning position for the purpose of cleaning the glue subassemblies (40, 41),
    e) the glue subassemblies (34, 35) for applying hot glue are fitted on a common second carrying arrangement (44) and can be moved therewith between a glue-applying position for the purpose of applying glue to the blanks and a cleaning position for the purpose of discharging portions of glue onto a collecting device (49),
    f) the glue subassembiles (34, 35; 40, 41) are moved linearly between the positions in the vertical direction.
