Definitions
- the invention relates to the on-site construction of vertical concrete walls.
- This method of construction of concrete walls is complicated, requiring multiple operations: installation of a formwork (usually by assembly and nailing of wooden panels), preparation of a hydraulic mortar by mixing with water a mixture of cement and an inert granulate (sand, gravel), pouring the liquid mortar into the formwork and, after setting and hardening the mortar (which may take several days), dismantling the formwork.
- this known method is excessively expensive for the construction of concrete walls of small dimensions, such as partitions, palisades or walls used to separate or isolate gardens or public or private parks.
- This known process has the additional disadvantage of being difficult to access for private individuals, particularly in the context of DIY work.
- the invention aims to overcome the aforementioned disadvantages of the known method defined above.
- the invention aims more particularly to provide a method for the construction of vertical concrete walls, the implementation of which is easy and fast.
- the invention aims in particular to provide a method of this type, in which the number of steps to be performed is reduced.
- the invention is especially intended to provide a method of this type which is within the reach of a public handyman and suitable for the construction of light walls suitable as palisades for the fence of gardens or private parks and / or public .
- the invention also aims to provide a kit (including a DIY kit) for the construction of a vertical concrete wall, in situ on site.
- the enclosure constitutes the formwork for setting and hardening the concrete. It can be made of any material capable of withstanding the pressure of the concrete mass during the setting and hardening thereof. It may for example be metal, wood or glass (illustrative list, not exhaustive). Additional information on the constitution of the enclosure will be explained below.
- the dimensions and shape of the enclosure are not critical for the definition of the invention.
- a prismatic enclosure preferably a rectangular parallelepiped
- its dimensions are determined by the desire to facilitate its handling. It is generally preferred to use several smaller enclosures, which are then assembled on site. More complete information on how to assemble these speakers will be provided later.
- the enclosure is hermetic and contains a powder of a hydraulic binder. It is preferably completely filled with the powder. It is essential that the enclosure is airtight, with water and with water vapor.
- the enclosure is however in communication with an organ capable of introducing water in a controlled manner, at a convenient time. This means must therefore be designed to ensure the hermetic integrity of the enclosure until desired moment to introduce the water. Information on this means will be provided below.
- the choice of the hydraulic binder is not critical for the definition of the invention.
- Portland cement is advantageously used.
- the powder normally also contains an inert granulate, such as sand or gravel, commonly used in the manufacture of concrete. It may also contain fillers commonly used in mortars and concrete, for example a setting accelerator, blowing agent or dye. It is advantageously incorporated an aluminum powder, in order to lighten it. It may be desirable to incorporate an anti-glutinating agent, the role of which is to avoid agglutination or unintentional agglomeration of the particles of the powder during handling and storage of the enclosure.
- the choice of the particle size of the powder will depend on various factors, among which include the nature of its constituents, its composition, its volume and the shape of the enclosure. It must be determined in each case by a person skilled in the art, possibly by means of routine research work.
- the anchoring of the enclosure on the ground can be achieved by any appropriate known means. Preferred anchor modes will be discussed later.
- water is introduced.
- the water gradually disperses in the powder, causing hydrolysis of the hydraulic binder.
- the amount of water to be added will depend on the amount of binder present in the enclosure and it may be readily determined by those skilled in the art. Details of a preferred method of introducing water into the enclosure will be discussed later.
- the enclosure constitutes the formwork used for setting and hardening the concrete. It is not usually dismantled after the concrete has set and hardened and is therefore an integral part of the wall.
- a box with a base is placed on the ground, at least one metal bar is pushed vertically into the ground, through a calibrated hole in the bottom of the box, until a flange of the metal bar covers said hole and encased the enclosure in the box.
- This method of anchoring is especially applicable to loose soil, for example earth.
- the metal bar may be steel. It is also possible to use a bar made of light metal, for example aluminum. The choice of aluminum has the advantage of resisting atmospheric corrosion.
- anchor bars Although a single metal bar is normally sufficient for anchoring the box to the ground, it is generally recommended to use several anchor bars, evenly distributed along the length of the base. The optimum number of anchor bars will depend on the length of the base and can be easily determined by those skilled in the art.
- the or each anchor bar is extended above its collar; moreover, the lower face of the enclosure is pierced with an opening in which the anchor bar engages when said enclosure is embedded in the box.
- the anchor bar is found embedded in the powder contained in the enclosure, where it is intended to serve as reinforcing reinforcement of the concrete.
- the aforesaid opening in the lower face of the enclosure is normally closed by a removable cap, said cap being removed at the time of introduction of the bar.
- the lid is preferably removable by rupture, so that it is broken (for example torn) in contact with the bar. This cap has the function of preventing an entry of air, moisture or water into the powder of the enclosure during handling and storage of the enclosure.
- Another variant of the preferred anchor mode described above is to facilitate the positioning of the box on the ground. For this purpose, before placing the box on the ground (or in the trench, if necessary), we push two temporary posts in the ground, we stretch a line between the posts and we put the box on the ground taking care that the cord is inserted into a groove in the base of the box.
- a hermetic cover is placed on the upper face of the enclosure.
- the upper face the enclosure and the lid are respectively drilled with two calibrated holes which are opposite one another when the lid is placed on the enclosure.
- a metal rod provided with a circular head and the rod is engaged vertically through the pair of aforementioned holes and pushes in the enclosure until its head comes abut at the periphery of said lid hole.
- the rod must be put in place after pouring water into the powder of the enclosure, but before the concrete has set.
- the metal rod will serve as reinforcement steel reinforcing concrete.
- a single metal rod was used. It is obvious that one can use a larger number of metal rods, distributed on the surface of the lid. Where appropriate, each metal rod corresponds to a pair of holes respectively drilled in the lid and in the upper face of the enclosure. The optimum number of metal rods and their distribution on the surface of the lid will depend on the dimensions of the lid. They can be determined easily by those skilled in the art.
- the cover may advantageously be provided with light-emitting diodes powered by a source of electric current.
- the power source may be an ordinary distribution system connection, a stand-alone battery, or a rechargeable battery. According to the invention, it is preferred to use one or more panels of photovoltaic cells.
- a vertical rib on a side face of one of the enclosures, which is inserted into a corresponding vertical groove of the contiguous side face of the other enclosure.
- Fixing the rib in the groove can be achieved by any suitable means, for example by means of metal dowels, screws, bolts or by a dovetail assembly.
- the method according to the invention is applicable to the construction of all types of vertical walls, such as external walls or interior partitions of industrial buildings or residential buildings. It is especially suitable for the construction of fencing or palisades around real estate properties such as gardens or public or private parks.
- the method according to the invention is well suited for use by individuals, not requiring expensive tools and difficult use, or a skilled workforce.
- the enclosure of the kit according to the invention has been defined above. Its shape and dimensions will depend on the shape and dimensions of the wall to erect. They are also dictated by the need to ensure a regular, rapid and homogeneous distribution of water in the hydraulic binder powder, as has been explained above.
- the enclosure is generally prismatic. Right rectangular prisms are preferred, especially rectangular parallelepipeds.
- the enclosure can be made of any material capable of withstanding the pressure of the concrete mass during setting and hardening thereof. As has been said above, it may for example be metal, wood or glass (illustrative list, not exhaustive). For economic reasons, it is preferred to make the plastic enclosure.
- the use of a plastic material has the additional advantage of facilitating its manufacture (by molding or extrusion) and reducing its weight.
- the walls of the enclosure are made of polymer or synthetic copolymer.
- polymers and copolymers that can be used in the manufacture of the enclosure include polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, polyolefins (especially polymers and copolymers of ethylene, propylene and butylene), polycarbonate, fluorinated polymers and copolymers such as polytetrafluoroethylene (illustrative list, not exhaustive).
- the (co) polymer advantageously contains a filler, in order to enhance its mechanical properties or to give it an appearance or a determined color.
- fillers include chips of wood, cardboard or metal, sawdust, cork or rubber particles, recycled packaging, reduced to powder or granular form, especially paper , cardboard, cans and cartons [in particular those known under the trade names Tétra Pak ® and Tétra Brik ® (Tétra Laval) and used for the packaging of beverages].
- the enclosure which is generally of prismatic shape, can advantageously be obtained by assembling prefabricated panels.
- the walls of the enclosure may advantageously contain decorative elements.
- the enclosure is double-walled, comprising two plates arranged face to face and connected by spacers.
- This embodiment of the invention is especially suitable for pregnant synthetic (co) polymer. It combines the advantages of a lightweight structure and improved rigidity.
- the shape of the spacers is not critical for the definition of the invention. They may advantageously include interposed pads welded or glued to the two plates.
- the number of spacers will determine the strength and rigidity of the double walls. It must be determined in each particular case by those skilled in the art, according to various parameters among which include in particular the dimensions of the enclosure, especially its height and thickness, the structure of the double walls, their thickness and the material which constitutes them, the shape and the dimensions of the spacers.
- the plates forming the double walls may advantageously be of the multilayer type, associating at least two (preferably at least three) superimposed layers or films.
- the enclosure contains a powder of a hydraulic binder. This one preferably fills the whole of the enclosure. Additional information relating to the powder has been communicated above, with reference to the process according to the invention.
- the enclosure is normally sealed to air, water and water vapor.
- the enclosure is however in communication with a means capable of introducing water in a controlled manner, at a convenient time.
- This admission means must therefore be designed to ensure the hermeticity of the enclosure until the desired time to introduce the water.
- the means for admitting water into the powder of the enclosure comprises at least one perforated tube which is housed in the powder, which extends over the entire height of the enclosure and opens through the upper face of the enclosure and which is closed by a removable cap.
- the terms “superior”, “lower”, “vertical” and “horizontal”, when they concern the enclosure, are defined when said enclosure occupies its normal vertical position on the ground.
- the lid must ensure hermetic sealing of the enclosure.
- This lid is removable, to allow to introduce water into the powder at the appropriate time during the construction of the wall.
- Any suitable means can be used to make the cap removable, for example a valve or a tap.
- the means of fixing the enclosure to the ground will depend on the floor on which the wall is to be built.
- the means for fixing the enclosure to the ground comprises a plate, a anchoring member of the plate on the ground and means for hooking the enclosure to the plate.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the on-site construction of vertical concrete walls.
It is known to build on site vertical concrete walls. In this known technique, a formwork is first produced, in which a hydraulic mortar is then poured. After setting and hardening the mortar, the formwork is removed. This technique is frequently applied to the construction of palisades and fences of private and public properties, as well as the construction of the walls of multi-family buildings, single-family homes or public or industrial buildings.
This method of construction of concrete walls is complicated, requiring multiple operations: installation of a formwork (usually by assembly and nailing of wooden panels), preparation of a hydraulic mortar by mixing with water a mixture of cement and an inert granulate (sand, gravel), pouring the liquid mortar into the formwork and, after setting and hardening the mortar (which may take several days), dismantling the formwork. Given its complexity, this known method is excessively expensive for the construction of concrete walls of small dimensions, such as partitions, palisades or walls used to separate or isolate gardens or public or private parks. This known process has the the additional disadvantage of being difficult to access for private individuals, particularly in the context of DIY work.

- on met en oeuvre un coffrage comprenant, d'une part, une enceinte hermétique contenant une poudre d'un liant hydraulique et, d'autre part, un moyen d'admission d'eau dans la poudre ;
- a formwork comprising, on the one hand, a hermetic enclosure containing a powder of a hydraulic binder and, on the other hand, a means for admitting water into the powder;
- the enclosure is placed vertically on the ground and anchored there; and
- the water is introduced into the powder via the aforementioned admission means.
In the process according to the invention, the enclosure constitutes the formwork for setting and hardening the concrete. It can be made of any material capable of withstanding the pressure of the concrete mass during the setting and hardening thereof. It may for example be metal, wood or glass (illustrative list, not exhaustive). Additional information on the constitution of the enclosure will be explained below.
The dimensions and shape of the enclosure are not critical for the definition of the invention. In practice, a prismatic enclosure (preferably a rectangular parallelepiped) is generally used and its dimensions are determined by the desire to facilitate its handling. It is generally preferred to use several smaller enclosures, which are then assembled on site. More complete information on how to assemble these speakers will be provided later.
According to the invention, the enclosure is hermetic and contains a powder of a hydraulic binder. It is preferably completely filled with the powder. It is essential that the enclosure is airtight, with water and with water vapor. The enclosure is however in communication with an organ capable of introducing water in a controlled manner, at a convenient time. This means must therefore be designed to ensure the hermetic integrity of the enclosure until desired moment to introduce the water. Information on this means will be provided below.
The choice of the hydraulic binder is not critical for the definition of the invention. Portland cement is advantageously used. In addition to the hydraulic binder, the powder normally also contains an inert granulate, such as sand or gravel, commonly used in the manufacture of concrete.
The choice of the particle size of the powder will depend on various factors, among which include the nature of its constituents, its composition, its volume and the shape of the enclosure. It must be determined in each case by a person skilled in the art, possibly by means of routine research work.
The anchoring of the enclosure on the ground can be achieved by any appropriate known means. Preferred anchor modes will be discussed later.
After positioning the enclosure vertically on the ground and anchoring it, water is introduced. The water thus introduced gradually disperses in the powder, causing hydrolysis of the hydraulic binder. The amount of water to be added will depend on the amount of binder present in the enclosure and it may be readily determined by those skilled in the art. Details of a preferred method of introducing water into the enclosure will be discussed later.
In the process according to the invention, the enclosure constitutes the formwork used for setting and hardening the concrete. It is not usually dismantled after the concrete has set and hardened and is therefore an integral part of the wall.
In a preferred anchorage mode of the enclosure on the ground, a box with a base is placed on the ground, at least one metal bar is pushed vertically into the ground, through a calibrated hole in the bottom of the box, until a flange of the metal bar covers said hole and encased the enclosure in the box. This method of anchoring is especially applicable to loose soil, for example earth.
The metal bar may be steel. It is also possible to use a bar made of light metal, for example aluminum. The choice of aluminum has the advantage of resisting atmospheric corrosion.
In the anchoring mode according to the invention which has just been described, it may be desirable to dig beforehand a trench in which the box and its base are disposed. This trench is intended to facilitate the anchoring of the box and the enclosure on the ground. Although a single metal bar is normally sufficient for anchoring the box to the ground, it is generally recommended to use several anchor bars, evenly distributed along the length of the base. The optimum number of anchor bars will depend on the length of the base and can be easily determined by those skilled in the art.
In an advantageous embodiment of the anchoring mode described above, the or each anchor bar is extended above its collar; moreover, the lower face of the enclosure is pierced with an opening in which the anchor bar engages when said enclosure is embedded in the box. In this variant of the invention, the anchor bar is found embedded in the powder contained in the enclosure, where it is intended to serve as reinforcing reinforcement of the concrete. In this alternative embodiment of the method, the aforesaid opening in the lower face of the enclosure is normally closed by a removable cap, said cap being removed at the time of introduction of the bar. The lid is preferably removable by rupture, so that it is broken (for example torn) in contact with the bar. This cap has the function of preventing an entry of air, moisture or water into the powder of the enclosure during handling and storage of the enclosure.
Another variant of the preferred anchor mode described above is to facilitate the positioning of the box on the ground. For this purpose, before placing the box on the ground (or in the trench, if necessary), we push two temporary posts in the ground, we stretch a line between the posts and we put the box on the ground taking care that the cord is inserted into a groove in the base of the box.
In a particular embodiment of the method according to the invention, after having anchored the enclosure to the ground and poured in the water, a hermetic cover is placed on the upper face of the enclosure. In this embodiment of the method, the upper face the enclosure and the lid are respectively drilled with two calibrated holes which are opposite one another when the lid is placed on the enclosure. To fix the lid to the enclosure, using a metal rod provided with a circular head and the rod is engaged vertically through the pair of aforementioned holes and pushes in the enclosure until its head comes abut at the periphery of said lid hole. In this embodiment of the invention, the rod must be put in place after pouring water into the powder of the enclosure, but before the concrete has set. After curing the concrete, the metal rod will serve as reinforcement steel reinforcing concrete.
In the particular embodiment just described, a single metal rod was used.
The cover may advantageously be provided with light-emitting diodes powered by a source of electric current. The power source may be an ordinary distribution system connection, a stand-alone battery, or a rechargeable battery. According to the invention, it is preferred to use one or more panels of photovoltaic cells.
As discussed above, it may be necessary to have several speakers side by side to make a wall of great length. For this purpose, to secure two juxtaposed enclosures, there is provided a vertical rib on a side face of one of the enclosures, which is inserted into a corresponding vertical groove of the contiguous side face of the other enclosure. Fixing the rib in the groove can be achieved by any suitable means, for example by means of metal dowels, screws, bolts or by a dovetail assembly.
The method according to the invention is applicable to the construction of all types of vertical walls, such as external walls or interior partitions of industrial buildings or residential buildings. It is especially suitable for the construction of fencing or palisades around real estate properties such as gardens or public or private parks.
The method according to the invention is well suited for use by individuals, not requiring expensive tools and difficult use, or a skilled workforce.
- at least one hermetic enclosure which contains a powder of a hydraulic binder and which comprises means for admitting water into the powder and
- means for fixing the enclosure vertically on the ground.
The enclosure of the kit according to the invention has been defined above. Its shape and dimensions will depend on the shape and dimensions of the wall to erect. They are also dictated by the need to ensure a regular, rapid and homogeneous distribution of water in the hydraulic binder powder, as has been explained above. In practice, the enclosure is generally prismatic. Right rectangular prisms are preferred, especially rectangular parallelepipeds.
The enclosure can be made of any material capable of withstanding the pressure of the concrete mass during setting and hardening thereof. As has been said above, it may for example be metal, wood or glass (illustrative list, not exhaustive). For economic reasons, it is preferred to make the plastic enclosure. The use of a plastic material has the additional advantage of facilitating its manufacture (by molding or extrusion) and reducing its weight.
Consequently, in a particular embodiment of the kit according to the invention, the walls of the enclosure are made of polymer or synthetic copolymer. Examples of polymers and copolymers that can be used in the manufacture of the enclosure include polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, polyolefins (especially polymers and copolymers of ethylene, propylene and butylene), polycarbonate, fluorinated polymers and copolymers such as polytetrafluoroethylene (illustrative list, not exhaustive). The (co) polymer advantageously contains a filler, in order to enhance its mechanical properties or to give it an appearance or a determined color. Examples of fillers include chips of wood, cardboard or metal, sawdust, cork or rubber particles, recycled packaging, reduced to powder or granular form, especially paper , cardboard, cans and cartons [in particular those known under the trade names Tétra Pak ® and Tétra Brik ® (Tétra Laval) and used for the packaging of beverages]. The enclosure, which is generally of prismatic shape, can advantageously be obtained by assembling prefabricated panels.
The walls of the enclosure may advantageously contain decorative elements.
In a preferred embodiment of the kit according to the invention, the enclosure is double-walled, comprising two plates arranged face to face and connected by spacers. This embodiment of the invention is especially suitable for pregnant synthetic (co) polymer. It combines the advantages of a lightweight structure and improved rigidity. The shape of the spacers is not critical for the definition of the invention. They may advantageously include interposed pads welded or glued to the two plates. The number of spacers will determine the strength and rigidity of the double walls. It must be determined in each particular case by those skilled in the art, according to various parameters among which include in particular the dimensions of the enclosure, especially its height and thickness, the structure of the double walls, their thickness and the material which constitutes them, the shape and the dimensions of the spacers. In this particular embodiment of the invention, the plates forming the double walls may advantageously be of the multilayer type, associating at least two (preferably at least three) superimposed layers or films.
In the kit according to the invention, the enclosure contains a powder of a hydraulic binder. This one preferably fills the whole of the enclosure. Additional information relating to the powder has been communicated above, with reference to the process according to the invention.
As already discussed above, the enclosure is normally sealed to air, water and water vapor. The enclosure is however in communication with a means capable of introducing water in a controlled manner, at a convenient time. This admission means must therefore be designed to ensure the hermeticity of the enclosure until the desired time to introduce the water. For this purpose, in a preferred embodiment of the kit according to the invention, the means for admitting water into the powder of the enclosure comprises at least one perforated tube which is housed in the powder, which extends over the entire height of the enclosure and opens through the upper face of the enclosure and which is closed by a removable cap. In the remainder of this memo, the terms "superior", "lower", "vertical" and "horizontal", when they concern the enclosure, are defined when said enclosure occupies its normal vertical position on the ground. In this embodiment of the kit according to the invention, the lid must ensure hermetic sealing of the enclosure. This lid is removable, to allow to introduce water into the powder at the appropriate time during the construction of the wall. Any suitable means can be used to make the cap removable, for example a valve or a tap. According to the invention, it is preferred to use a cap that can be broken by mechanical pressure. It may be a membrane likely to be torn or cut.
In the kit according to the invention, the means of fixing the enclosure to the ground will depend on the floor on which the wall is to be built.
For this purpose, in a kit for the construction of a wall on soft ground (for example a surface of earth or sand, a meadow or a lawn), a suitable means of fixation includes
- on the one hand, a rectangular box that is sized to fit the enclosure and
- on the other hand, at least one metal bar intended to be driven vertically into the ground, through a calibrated hole in the bottom of the box, said metal bar comprising a flange whose dimension is greater than that of the calibrated hole.
In another variant of the kit described above, it further comprises two poles and a cord and the box comprises a base which has a longitudinal groove for the passage of the cord. The respective functions of the two poles, the cord and the groove of the base have been described above, with reference to the method according to the invention.
In a kit according to the invention, especially intended for the construction of a wall on a hard surface such as a tessellation or a concrete floor for example, the means for fixing the enclosure to the ground comprises a plate, a anchoring member of the plate on the ground and means for hooking the enclosure to the plate. In this kit according to the invention, the plate is normally a metal plate, usually steel or aluminum and the anchor comprises a series of screws that are screwed into pins inserted into holes drilled in floor. To hook the enclosure to the plate, said enclosure may advantageously comprise a slide adapted to be engaged in a corresponding slide of the plate. [In this embodiment of the kit, the respective positions of the slide and the slide can obviously be reversed, the slide being fixed to the plate and the slide on the enclosure].
In a particular embodiment of the kit according to the invention, it comprises a cover and a hermetic sealing means of the cover on the upper face of the enclosure. To ensure proper attachment of the lid to the enclosure, the lid is pierced with a calibrated hole and the upper face of the enclosure is pierced with a calibrated hole, closed by a removable cap by rupture. The lid attachment means on the upper face of the enclosure comprises a metal rod which is provided with a head whose area is greater than that of the hole of the lid and which is designed to be engaged through the hole of the lid, the hole in the upper face of the enclosure (after rupture of its lid) and penetrate into the powder of the enclosure.
Although in theory, only one rod is sufficient to attach the lid to the enclosure, it is desirable that the kit comprises several rods, that the lid is pierced with an equivalent number of calibrated holes and that the upper face of the enclosure are pierced with an equivalent number of holes each closed by a cap removable by rupture.
The kit according to the invention is suitable for the construction of all concrete walls. It is especially suitable for the construction of small-sized walls, especially for low-rise and shallow walls, such as palisades or fences.
The kit according to the invention is advantageously a DIY kit.

The whole is then left standing for several days, necessary for setting and hardening the concrete.
