Neben der stabilen Verriegelung der Seitenwände in ihrer Schließstellung zum Schutz des Wageninneren vor Umgebungseinflüssen (Feuchtigkeit etc.) ist eine leichtgängige und zuverlässige Betätigungsvorrichtung, mittels der die Seitenwandelemente zwischen der Schließ- und der Verschiebestellung bewegbar sind, für die Betriebstauglichkeit des Güterwagens von großer Bedeutung.
