Description

The present invention relates to the field of gloves with insulating properties adjustable between an inactive position and an active position and comprising a palm portion for accommodating the palm of the hand and a finger portion for housing the fingers.

The fingers of the hand are the coolest area of the hand. The temperature of the fingers may be, under certain conditions, lower on the order of 7 ° C-8 ° C than the temperature measured on the palm of the hand. The fingers are thus the most sensitive area of the hand to cold and frostbite.

In addition, when wearing a glove to thermally insulate the hand from external climatic conditions, the portions of the glove wrapping the fingers are the least insulating of those constituting a glove because the insulating layers, including the wadding, are crushed by the seam. It was thus measured that the portions surrounding the fingers may be about half as insulating as the other portions constituting the glove.

He is known in GB 1.330.621 to improve the thermal insulation of the fingers to arrange a pocket secured to its lower edge on the upper palm portion of a glove in a direction substantially transverse to the longitudinal direction of said glove so that in a wrapping position said pocket is able to cover the upper surface of the fingers.

We also know in US 5,509,143 a glove provided with a pocket pivotally mounted in a direction substantially transverse to the longitudinal direction of said glove at a first end and adapted to an active position to wrap the fingers. This pocket comprises in its second free end a subbag adapted to receive an insulating element, which in said active position covers the underside of the end of the fingers. In the inactive position, the pocket comprises fastening means of the loop type able to cooperate with hooks disposed on the upper face of the palm portion as represented in FIG. figure 5 .

The glove described in US 5,509,143 has the disadvantage that it is possible to adjust the thermal insulation on the lower part of the fingertips. In addition, in the inactive position the thermal insulation adjustment pocket is visible on the upper face of the palm which is unsightly and increases the risk that it is hooked and deteriorated during the movements of the user. The size of the sub-pocket is also limited to the space available in the second free end of the pocket and can therefore receive insulating elements of different sizes.

The present invention proposes a glove improving the thermal insulation of the fingers at the request of the user, whose passage from the inactive position to the active position is easy, not impeding the practice of a sport, for example the manipulation of a ski pole, aesthetic whether in the inactive position as in the active position, to improve the insulation on the entire surface of the fingers and comfortable.

The glove according to the present invention comprises a first securing pouch and a second insulating pouch adapted to receive an insulating element. Said two pockets respectively comprise a first opening and a second opening which are oriented toward one another and which are delimited by edges secured by connecting means on one of the faces of the palm portion of the glove according to the invention. a direction substantially transverse to the longitudinal direction of said glove so that the first and second pockets are pivotable about said connecting means between the inactive and active positions. In the inactive position, the first securing pocket is folded for storage in the second insulating pocket, which is held against the palm portion. In the active position, the second insulating pocket, in particular lined with an insulating element, is held against the portion of fingers by said first securing pocket, which envelops said second pocket and at least the free end of the finger portion. .

The palm and finger portions as defined in the present invention are separated by the substantially transverse line passing through the birth of the phalanges of the four fingers. When the glove is worn, the upper portion of the palm is in contact with the back of the hand, the lower portion of the palm is in contact with the palm of the hand, the upper portion of the fingers is in contact with the upper face of the four fingers and the lower portion of the fingers is in contact with the underside of the four fingers.

Advantageously, the upper or lower face of the finger portion is covered by the second pocket, comprising an insulating element, from the connecting means to the free ends of the fingers except the thumb.

In the inactive position, the first securing pocket is stored in the second insulating pocket held on the palm portion which allows for an aesthetic storage and prevents the first pocket from redeploying.

The first and second pockets pivot freely about said connecting means and may have different dimensions, including different interior volumes. The first securing pocket is dimensioned so as to ensure its function of securing the second insulating pocket and cover the free ends of the fingers with the exception of the thumb. The second pocket is dimensioned so as to receive the insulating element in its inner volume and to cover totally or partially the portion of fingers. Thus, it is possible to adjust the thermal insulation of the lower and / or upper portions of the finger portion according to the dimensioning of the second pocket. The second pocket is sized also to receive the first pocket in a folded state with or without an insulating element. The user can keep or remove the insulating element of the second pocket in the inactive position.

The connecting means can be any known means of the state of the art for securing two pockets to a portion of palm so that they can pivot relative to each other around said means of link. The connecting means may be one or more seams, a zipper, self-gripping strips of the loop and hook type, etc.

In an alternative embodiment, the connecting means are arranged at a distance d from the transverse line passing through the birth of the phalanges of the four fingers and separating said palm and finger portions. The first and second pockets are then dimensioned so as to completely cover the upper or lower face of the portion of fingers.

The connecting means are arranged on the palm portion at a distance of less than 2 cm so as not to hinder the movements of the fingers. Preferably, the distance d is substantially zero and the connecting means are arranged substantially along the transverse line passing through the portion of said glove adapted to receive the phalanges of the fingers with the exception of the thumb. This arrangement makes it possible not to hinder the movements of the fingers or the palm of the hand.

In an alternative embodiment, the first and second pockets are secured by the connecting means to said palm portion by the lower edges delimiting their said first and second openings.

In an alternative embodiment, the first and second pockets are secured by connecting means to the upper face of the palm portion, and said glove goes from an inactive position in which the first fastening pocket is folded for storage in the second insulating pocket at an active position in which the second insulating pocket, in particular lined with an insulating element, is held against the upper face of the finger portion by said first fastening pocket enveloping said second pocket and less partially the underside of the portion of fingers.

Conversely, when the first and second pockets are secured by the connecting means to the lower portion of the palm, the underside of the fingers is covered with the second insulating pocket, in particular lined with an insulating member.
In an alternative embodiment, the second isolation bag comprises first attachment members for holding it in the inactive position adapted to cooperate with second fastening members supported by the lower or upper face of the palm portion.

The first and second fastener members may be fastening members known from the state of the art: self-gripping strips of the loop and hook type, strips in a cohesive material, snaps, a closure zipper, ... etc.
In an alternative embodiment, the first and second fastener members are a slide fastener disposed partly on the outer edge of the second pocket and partly on the underside or upper side of the palm portion.

When the first and second fasteners cooperate together for the holding of the second pocket on the palm portion in the inactive position, a housing is formed between on the one hand the second pocket and on the other hand the palm portion. The housing receives the first securing pocket, a portion of the second pocket and optionally an insulating element. This variant provides storage of the first and second aesthetic pockets and prevents the first pocket is redeployed or the second pocket is torn off.

In an alternative embodiment, the lower edges delimiting the first and second openings form a common lower edge coinciding with the connecting means.

Preferably, during the manufacture of said glove, the first and second pockets are formed in the same textile panel by making two pockets at the ends of a panel.

In an alternative embodiment, the connecting means is a seam. These connecting means are simple to implement, inexpensive and solid.

In an alternative embodiment, the upper edge defining the opening of the first pocket has a concave shape so as to facilitate the insertion of the fingers with the exception of the thumb therein.

In an alternative embodiment, the glove comprises an insulating element consisting of a hermetic bag containing a material having a conductivity of less than 0.025 Watts / (meter.Kelvin), such as an airgel.

Thermal conductivity is the amount of heat transferred per unit area and a unit of time under a temperature gradient. An airgel is a gel-like material in which the liquid component is replaced by gas. An airgel generally has a very low density, generally of the order of 3 mg / cm 3 , and excellent thermal insulation capacity. Airgel is indeed a remarkable insulator, because it almost completely stops three methods of heat propagation: thermal conduction, thermal radiation and convection.

Of course, it is possible to size also the hermetic bag in view of the large internal volume offered by the second pocket.

The present invention will be better understood on reading an exemplary embodiment, cited in a non-limiting manner, and illustrated in the appended figures in which:
  • the figure 1 is a perspective view of a first example of a glove according to the present invention in the inactive position;
  • the Figures 2 to 5 are perspective views of the glove shown in the figure 1 illustrating the transition from the inactive position to the active position;
  • the figures 6 and 7 are views respectively from above and from below in the active position of the glove shown in FIGS. Figures 1 to 5 .

The glove 1 represented at figure 1 includes a palm portion 2 for housing the palm of the hand, a finger portion 3 for housing the four fingers except the thumb, a handle portion 4 and a thumb portion 5.

As shown on the Figures 2 to 5 the glove 1 comprises a first securing pocket 6 and a second insulating pocket 7 receiving an insulating element 8, in this specific example, a hermetic bag containing an airgel.

The first 6 and second 7 pockets respectively comprise a first 6a and a second 7a opening oriented towards each other. Said openings 6a, 7a are delimited by upper edges 61a, 71a and lower 62a, 72a, said lower edges 62a, 72a are secured by connecting means 9 on the upper face 2a of the palm portion 2 in a substantially transverse direction to the longitudinal direction (L) of said glove 1. In this specific example, the connecting means 9 are concomitant with the transverse line (d) passing through the birth of the phalanges of the four fingers and separating the portions of palm 2 and fingers 3 The connection means 9 are in this particular example a seam 11, which coincide with the lower edges 62a, 72a delimiting said openings 6a, 7a so that the pockets 6, 7 are in fact assembled in the same transverse seam line ( d).

A zipper 12 is arranged partly along the outer edge of the second insulating pocket 7 and partly on the upper face 2a of the palm portion 2 so as to form a housing 13 delimited, on the one hand, by the upper face 2a of the palm portion 2 and, secondly, in part by the second insulating pocket 7.

La seconde poche d'isolation 7 contenant l'élément isolant 8 est ainsi maintenue par la première poche de solidarisation 6 contre la face supérieure 3a de la portion de doigts 3.In operation, in order to adjust the thermal insulation at the request of the finger portion 3, the user accesses the housing 13 by actuating the zipper 12 as shown in FIG. figure 2 , then fold the second insulating pocket 7 of the glove 1 towards the upper face 3a of the finger portion 3 as shown in FIG. figure 3 . The second insulating pocket 7 then contains in its interior volume the insulating element 8 and the first securing pocket 6 row and folded. Of course, the first securing pocket 6 and the insulating element 8 can be stored in said housing 13. The user then clears the first pocket 6 of the second pocket 7 so as to form two pockets 6, 7 whose openings 6a, 7a are oriented toward each other, the second pocket 7 being folded on the upper face 3a of the finger portion 3 lined with an insulating member 8 and the first pocket 6 being folded on the upper face 2a of the portion of palm 2. Then, the user folds the first fastening pocket 6 towards the upper face 3a of the finger portion 3 so as to envelop the second insulating pocket 7 and partly the free end 3b of the finger portion 3. The second insulating pocket 7 containing the insulating element 8 is thus held by the first securing pocket 6 against the upper face 3a of the finger portion 3.

In this specific example, the insulating element 8 has dimensions close to the dimensions of the second insulating pocket 7 so that the insulating element 8 substantially covers the entire upper face 3a of the finger portion 3 as shown in FIG. figure 6 .

The upper edge 61a delimiting the opening 6a of the first securing pocket 6 has a concave shape which facilitates the insertion of the free end 3b of the finger portion 3. The first securing pocket 6 covers in this specific example the upper part 3c of the lower face 3d of the portion of fingers 3 so that the user can correctly fold the fingers and not hinder the practice of a sport, including the grip of a ski pole.
