Claims (12)

  1. Device for fixing at least one brace (2, 3) to a fence post (1) formed by a pole (5), said pole being a known metal tubular profile having a C-shaped cross section and the brace(s) (2, 3) being produced as metal rods arranged at an angle relative to the fence post (1), the top end of each brace being formed by a flat bar (10, 37) having a smooth hole (35, 36) drilled in the centre thereof, which hole allows for the passage of the threaded rod of a fixing bolt (27), the bottom end of each brace (2, 3) being anchored in the ground (7), the device being formed of an elongate plate (12), the width of which is greater than that of the longitudinal opening (9) of the C-shaped profile (5), the plate (12) comprising at least two holes, characterised in that the threaded rod of a fixing bolt (27) is screwed into the tapped hole (22) in a small plate (18) which is intended to be arranged inside the pole, against the internal faces of the extremities (26) which delimit the longitudinal opening (9) of the C-shaped profile, said plate (12) being extended backwards by a flange (13), the depth of which is shallower than the depth of the C-shaped profile, the zone (14) of quadrangular cross section, in which the elongate plate (12) and the flange (13) are joined, having a diagonal dimension that is smaller than the width of the opening (9) of the C-shaped profile (5), and in that one of the holes (16) in the plate (12) is tapped, in which hole the threaded rod of a first fixing bolt (28) is screwed, which threaded rod is intended to penetrate the smooth hole drilled in the top-end flat bar (10) of the brace(s) (2), and the other (15) is smooth, in order to allow for the passage of the threaded rod of a second fixing bolt (27), which is screwed in the tapped hole (22) in the small plate (18), said small plate being located on the same side as the flange (13) in relation to the elongate plate (12) and having two dimensional properties such that the smallest dimension thereof is smaller than the width of the longitudinal opening (9) in the C-shaped profile (5) and the largest dimension thereof is greater than the width of said C-shaped profile, thereby allowing the small plate (18) to be inserted into the C-shaped profile and allowing said small plate to freely rotate about approximately a quarter of a turn in said C-shaped profile, to the rear of the internal faces of the two extremities (26) thereof, until said small plate (18) forms a nut clamped by the internal faces of the two wings of said C-shaped profile.
  2. Fixing device (11) according to claim 1, characterised in that the elongate plate (12) comprises a tab (17) oriented in the opposite direction to that of the flange (13), said tab acting as an operating handle for said device.
  3. Fixing device (11) according to claim 2, characterised in that the operating tab (17) is arranged along one of the two vertical sides (31) of the elongate plate (12).
  4. Fixing device (11) according to claim 3, characterised in that the operating tab (17) arranged to the side is penetrated by a vertical oblong aperture (32) which allows a brace (3) to be fixed perpendicularly to the brace(s) (2) already fixed to the elongate plate (12) by means of the first fixing bolt (28), which is screwed in the tapped hole (16) in said elongate plate (12).
  5. Fixing device (11) according to either claim 3 or claim 4, characterised in that the operating tab (17) is arranged in the lower part of the elongate plate (12), slightly above the level of the flange (13) and below the two holes in said elongate plate, one of which is tapped (16) and the other smooth (15), and which receive the first (28) and second (27) fixing bolts.
  6. Fixing device (11) according to claim 5, characterised in that the tapped hole (16) in the elongate plate (12) is located above the smooth hole (15) in relation to the operating tab (17).
  7. Fixing device (11) according to any of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the small plate (18) has the general shape of a rhombus, the large diagonal of which is longer than the width of the C-shaped profile (5) and the two large sides (19, 20) of which are separated by a distance which is slightly smaller than the width of the longitudinal opening (9) of said C-shaped profile.
  8. Fixing device (11) according to claim 7, characterised in that the two small sides (23, 24) of the rhombus are separated by a distance that is slightly smaller than the internal width of the C-shaped profile (5).
  9. Fixing device (11) according to any of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the thickness of the flange (13) which extends the elongate plate (12) is smaller than the width of the opening (9) in the C-shaped profile (5).
  10. Method for fitting the fixing device (11) according to any of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that its flange (13) is introduced into the longitudinal opening (9) in the C-shaped profile forming the pole (5) of the fence post (1), which has already been driven into the ground, either via the top end of said profile if said end is open and accessible, the small plate (18) then being separated from the elongate plate (12) by a distance that is greater than the thickness of the sheet in which the C-shaped profile (5) has been formed, and thus allowing the device (11) to slide downwards until it substantially assumes its final position on said C-shaped profile, or by arranging the plate (12) horizontally, thus fully engaging the flange (13) in the longitudinal opening (9) in the C-shaped profile by pivoting said device 90° in order to bring the plate into a position in which said plate faces the C-shaped profile, which is as close as possible to its final position, and in that, in both above-mentioned cases, said device (11) is then turned upwards and outwards so that it is at an angle with respect to said C-shaped profile (5), in which situation said device is then in a standby position.
  11. Method according to claim 10, characterised in that the device (11) is provisionally fixed to the pole (5), as close as possible to its final position, by folding the elongate plate (12) down against the C-shaped profile (5) while introducing the small plate (18) which is held with its smallest dimension in the opening (9) of said C-shaped profile, and then slightly locking the small plate behind the extremities (26) of the C-shaped profile by means of a second bolt (27), in that the smooth hole, which is drilled at the centre of the end flat bar (10) of the one or two braces (2) to be fixed, is placed opposite the tapped hole (16) of the elongate plate (12), in that the one or two braces (2) are fixed by means of a first bolt (28) which passes through the smooth hole(s) therein and is screwed into said tapped hole (16), in that the one or two brace(s) (2) are then anchored into the ground (7), the device simultaneously assuming its final position on the C-shaped profile (5), and in that the device is then rigidly locked onto said C-shaped profile.
  12. Method according to claim 11 for fixing at least two braces (2, 3) arranged in orthogonal planes, and using for this purpose the device (11) according to any of claims 4 to 8, characterised in that, once one or two braces (2) have been fixed to the elongate plate (12) and once said device has been fixed to the C-shaped profile (5), the brace (3) is fixed perpendicularly to the first brace or the first two braces (2) on the lateral tab (17) of the device (11) by means of a third bolt (33), the threaded rod of which pass through the oblong aperture (32) and is clamped in a vertical position in said oblong aperture in the lateral tab (17) by means of a nut (34).
