Lichterkette mit folgenden Merkmalen: - mit einem zumindest zweiadrigen Kabel (3), - das zumindest zweiadrige Kabel (3) ist an seinem einen Kabelende (3a) mit einem Netzstecker (5) versehen, - längs des Kabels (3) sind versetzt zueinander liegend Lampenanordnungen (9) vorgesehen, die über das Kabel (3) mit Strom versorgbar sind, - auf dem Kabel (3) sitzen dazu in Längsrichtung des Kabels (3) versetzt liegend Lampensockel (7), die mit den im Kabel (3) vorgesehenen stromführenden Leitungen elektrisch verbunden und nach außen isoliert sind, - durch den Lampensockel (7) hindurch verläuft das zumindest zweiadrige Kabel (3) zu einer nächsten Lampenanordnung (9), - die Lampenanordnungen (9) umfassen Kompaktleuchtstoff-Lampen (13), - die Lampenanordnungen (9) umfassen Lampenabdeckungen (19), gekennzeichnet durch die folgenden weiteren Merkmale: - der Lampensockel (7) umfasst einen Basisabschnitt (7a), einen sich daran anschließenden Lampensockel-Anschlussabschnitt (7b) sowie einen sich daran anschließenden Haltesockel (117) zur Aufnahme und Halterung der Lampenabdeckung (19), - zwischen dem Lampensockel-Basisabschnitt (7a) und dem Lampensockel-Anschlussabschnitt (7b) verläuft unter sandwichartiger Aufnahme das zumindest zweiadrige ummantelte Kabel (3), wobei der Lampensockel-Basisabschnitt (7a) und der Lampensockel-Anschlussabschnitt (7b) fest miteinander verbunden sind, - der Lampensockel-Anschlussabschnitt (7b) umfasst Kontaktierungseinrichtungen zur elektrisch-leitenden Verbindung der zumindest beiden Kabel (3) mit den beiden Polen des zumindest zweiadrigen Kabels (3), - die Lampenanordnung (9) umfasst eine Kompaktleuchtstoff-Lampe (13), die getrennt von der Lampenabdeckung (19) am Lampensockel (7) angeschlossen und befestigt ist, wobei die Kompaktleuchtstoff-Lampe (13) im Innenraum unterhalb der Lampenabdeckung (19) angeordnet ist, - die Lampenabdeckung (19) ist an dem die Lampenabdeckung (19) haltenden Lampensockel (7) wasserdicht und spritz-wassergeschützt angebracht oder befestigbar, - auf der Öffnungs- und Anschlussseite (17a) des Lampensockel-Anschlussabschnittes (7b) ist der Haltesockel (117) aufgesteckt, und zwar unter Zwischenschaltung einer wasserdichten Dichtmuffe oder Dichtzylinderanordnung (127), und - der Haltesockel (117) weist im axialen Querschnitt einen Doppelwandungsabschnitt (118a, 118b) unter Ausbildung einer umlaufenden Ringnut (117b) auf, in welcher der Schraubansatz (19d) des Außengewindes (19c) der Lampenabdeckung (19) eingedreht zu liegen kommt.
