Definitions

  • the invention relates to a chop saw with the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • a chop saw is the EP 1 398 123 A2 refer to.
  • a typical chop saw has a saw unit mounted pivotably about a transverse axis, the saw blade of which is pivotable from a raised rest position into a lowered saw position and vice versa. With this movement of the saw blade, a workpiece located on a workpiece support surface of a support can be cut off - cut off -.
  • chop saws are known not only with a saw unit mounted pivotably about a transverse axis, but also with a saw unit which can be pulled over the workpiece support surface in the longitudinal direction as so-called radial saws.
  • the saw unit of a chop saw is normally biased in the direction of the rest position. This is usually done by a spring arrangement, in older constructions even by a counterweight. Contrary to the biasing force, the saw unit is handled on an operating handle and pivoted down to carry out the saw cut until the workpiece located on the workpiece support surface is completely severed. In this case, a small portion of the saw blade of the saw unit enters the edge in a submerged slot in the workpiece support surface.
  • the saw unit is mounted by means of a bracket on the carrier.
  • Kappfunktion the saw unit is pivoted about a transverse axis from the raised rest position in the lowered sawing position and vice versa.
  • a tilt adjustment is provided here, moreover.
  • the tilt adjustment is used to pivot the saw unit relative to the carrier to a horizontal axis of rotation extending in the sawing direction, just to perform a miter cut in the desired miter angle can.
  • the tilt adjustment has a tilt swivel axis.
  • the tilt adjustment allows the saw unit to tilt laterally relative to the workpiece support surface so that corresponding miter cuts can be made with a bevel angle determined by the tilt adjustment.
  • Typical bevel angles such as 45 ° or 30 °, besides the angle of ⁇ 0 ° for the normal position, can be locked in position by means of bolts or levers which are operated by hand. But is often known only a stepless adjustment and fixation by means of a clamping screw with clamping knob. So is that also from the DE-U-203 13 885 known chop saw.
  • a tilt adjustment in a chop saw such that at a fixed, preferably connected to the carrier part at least on one side of a stationary inclination stop is arranged. This is positioned so that it corresponds to a frequently used inclination angle of the saw unit. In particular, such a tilt stop is at 45 °. Associated with the inclination stop is arranged on the opposite part counter-attack. If the counter-stop is in contact with the tilt stop of the tilt adjustment, the saw unit is at the desired angle of inclination to the workpiece support surface.
  • the inclination stop is designed as a screwed into a threaded bore, in particular in the carrier threaded pin. By screwing in or unscrewing the grub screw, the position of the inclination stop can be adjusted so that exactly 45 ° can be set as the inclination angle.
  • miter angle a little larger than it corresponds to the geometric angle. This allows you to take into account tolerances, especially in interior design. For example, an angle of 47 ° as a miter angle instead of an angle of 45 ° allows less tolerance sensitive work in construction.
  • the remaining small column can be filled with grouting material.
  • Another chop saw is from the EP 1 570 963 A2 known, in which the holder of the saw unit can also be pivoted by means of a tilt adjustment relative to the carrier.
  • an angle limiting arrangement is provided. This comprises a metal tube, which opens with its one end in a teardrop-shaped metal plate, projecting from the pipe to the tube a threaded pin parallel to the tube.
  • a rod which is rigidly connected to the carrier can be accommodated. At the other, free end of the tube an eruption is also provided.
  • the bracket also has for tilt adjustment a disc-shaped member having a central recess for receiving a pivot axis and a spaced therefrom arcuate outbreak through which the rigid rod of the carrier from one side and the plugged onto the rod tube of the angle limiting arrangement from the other side can extend.
  • the arcuate breakthrough allows a rotational movement of the disc of the holder by a predetermined angle, wherein within the opening a threaded pin forms a counter-stop, which can be supported in a first position of the angle limiting mechanism on the outside of the tube as a contact surface or in a second position of the mechanism by the end recess on the pipe to the rod of the carrier comes to rest.
  • a handle with a clamping nut is provided in addition, which is in engagement with an external thread formed on the rigid rod of the carrier and the teardrop-shaped Plate of the angle limiting arrangement between them and a contact surface of the disc of the holder can frictionally clamp.
  • the handling of a desired adjustment of the angle of inclination is therefore comparatively complicated.
  • the user must first solve the frictional connection with the help of the handle by turning it and with this the inserted therein clamping nut. Only then can he access the mechanical arrangement of the inclination adjustment and pivot the teardrop-shaped plate of the angle limiting arrangement from its first position to a possible second position. Thereafter, he must again make the frictional fixation by turning the handle again, but this time in the opposite direction until the assembly is braced such that the angle limiting arrangement can no longer undesirably swing back to its first position.
  • the EP 1 632 323 A1 also discloses a chop saw with tilt adjustment, in which on a carrier associated with this fixed plate-shaped part is arranged, around which a tiltable with the saw unit and a holder of the saw unit is part.
  • the stationary, plate-shaped carrier part has a stop arrangement with a pivotable stop.
  • a counter-stop assembly is provided with a threaded pin, which can be supported in a first position of the stop member on this and in a second position of the stop member is guided past this.
  • the EP 1 398 123 A2 shows finally a chop saw with a tilt adjustment, in which an arrangement for limiting the inclination angle is provided.
  • These Arrangement comprises a limiter rod and three projections.
  • the limiter bar is flattened in cross-section on two opposite sides, so that in the region of this flattening its outer diameter is smaller than at its remaining outer circumference.
  • the rod is received in the housing of the pivotable holder and can be displaced therein along its longitudinal axis. With its free end, it extends into a recess of the carrier, in which the projections acting as stops are arranged.
  • the inclination adjustment angle is greater or smaller by a few degrees.
  • the Beskyrstange may be provided at its end protruding from the holder with a Positonierer and be used by means of a handle against a spring tension in different recesses on the housing, which correspond to a predetermined angular position.
  • the teaching is based on the problem to optimize the known chop saw with the known from practice tilt adjustment application technology.
  • the core of the invention is the design of the tilt stop with two differently positioned stop surfaces.
  • An abutment surface corresponds to the exact inclination angle of the saw unit.
  • the second, slightly differently positioned stop surface leads to a slightly different, in particular slightly larger angle of inclination of the saw unit. Between the two stop surfaces you can switch the inclination stop.
  • you can switch the inclination stop. Are several stop surfaces provided, which would be possible in principle, so a total of stop surface to stop surface an adjustment is possible. It is important that the counter-stop always comes to rest on just one of the stop surfaces, so that the angle of inclination defined by the affected stop surface is realized on the saw unit.
  • the construction according to the invention of a chop saw with inclination stop can be operated particularly simply by the design of the adjustable component as a complete turntable with a hand-action knob projecting outwards therefrom or the like.
  • the turntable in this case has a resilient Verrastungselement which engages in each stage in a counter-element on the fixed part.
  • both abutment surfaces are arranged on the adjustable, preferably stepwise adjustable component of the inclination stop. Then one and the same counter-attack hits once on one side, on the other side on the other. The adjustment of the component of the inclination stop leads to a switching of the stop surfaces.
  • only one of the abutment surfaces is arranged on the adjustable component of the inclination stop.
  • the other of the abutment surfaces is fixed to the associated part of the inclination adjustment, that is preferably arranged on the fixed part.
  • the counter-attack is divided into two parts. In a position of the adjustable component of the inclination stopper hits a part of the counter-attack on the one stop surface. In the other position of the adjustable component of the inclination stop does not hit the said part of the counter-attack on the associated stop surface. Another part of the counter-attack hits the other, preferably fixed part of the tilt adjustment fixedly arranged stop surface.
  • the inclination angles are also different here only by a few angular degrees, preferably by 1 ° to 5 °, in particular by 2 ° to 3 °.
  • a particular advantage of the construction according to the invention is that one can design a stop surface adjustable.
  • this can also be done by a threaded pin which is screwed into a threaded hole and forms the relevant stop surface.
  • the threaded hole does not have to be formed in the associated part itself, it can also be part of an inserted nut or a threaded neck. It is essential that you can realize the exact adjustment of the inclination angle, for example, 45 ° by means of the threaded pin and this adjustment is always maintained.
  • the change to the slightly larger angle of inclination, for example, 47 ° is done without changing the position of the threaded pin and thus without changing the position of the corresponding stop surface. Rather, simply the adjustable component of the tilt stop is brought into the other position, so that the other stop surface acts.
  • the turntable according to the invention can be made in particular of plastic, as well as the manual operation knob, which serves to rotate the turntable. Carrying out the turntable in plastic, so it can be a latching element for locking in each stage particularly easy to implement as a molded spring clip.
  • Cross-cut saws of the type in question are known with one-sided and two-sided tilt adjustment. Accordingly, the construction can also be chosen here.
  • Fig. 1 shows a chop saw, more specifically a miter saw and miter saw.
  • the chop saw shown initially has a carrier 1, which forms a workpiece support surface 2.
  • the rear end of the workpiece support surface 2 here forms a stop rail 3, on which a workpiece, for example a wooden strip, can be applied.
  • a holder 4 is mounted, which lies behind the back of the workpiece support surface 2.
  • a saw unit 5 Attached to the holder 4 above the carrier 1 is a saw unit 5. In the illustrated and preferred exemplary embodiment, this is pivotable about a transverse axis 6 and is located above the workpiece support surface 2.
  • the transverse axis would be omitted.
  • the saw unit would be pulled here on tie rods that cantilever over the workpiece support surface.
  • the saw unit 5 is about the transverse axis 6 from a raised rest position, the in Fig. 1 can be seen in a lowered sawing, which is not shown here, and pivoted the other way round.
  • the saw unit 5 is biased towards the rest position, ie upwards, in particular by a spring. As a result, the saw unit 5, when you let go, returns by itself back to the raised rest position.
  • the latter is a special feature of the chop saw, which does not always have to be realized, but is implemented in a particularly appropriate manner here.
  • the chop saw shown has a miter function in addition to the previously described Kappfunktion. So it's already a crosscut and miter saw.
  • the chop saw on the holder 4 in turn a tilt adjustment 15.
  • the saw unit 5 can be compared to the carrier 1 to pivot about a direction of sawing, horizontal tilt pivot axis 16.

  • an angle scale 17 at which one can read off the set angle of inclination. Due to the inclination about the inclination pivot axis 16, the miter angle of the executed saw cut can be adjusted and read off the angle scale 17.
  • the illustrated and preferred chop saw has not only a cap function and a miter function, it also has a traction function.
  • the saw unit 5 is pivotally mounted on the holder 4 not only by means of the transverse axis 6, but additionally also by means of a running in the direction of sawing cable guide 18 of two mutually parallel drawbars 18a, b slidably mounted. With this train function can be extended by the saw unit 5 executable saw cut.
