Afin de remédier à ces inconvénients, la demanderesse a développé une nouvelle structure de véhicule de transport en commun, avec des moyens d'accès aux usagers en fauteuil roulant qui sont de conception simple, économique et sécurisée.
Cette structure de véhicule a en plus l'intérêt de permettre la réception au niveau de l'encombrement de la plateforme élévatrice, aussi bien d'usagers avec fauteuil roulant, que d'usagers sans fauteuil roulant.

Le véhicule de transport en commun selon l'invention, du genre autocar ou autobus, comprend un châssis portant un habitacle délimité - par une carrosserie comportant un toit et une ceinture de parois latérales, et - par un plancher en hauteur par rapport au sol, ledit plancher d'habitacle étant associé à au moins une structure d'escalier implantée en regard d'une porte équipant un premier passage latéral d'accès à l'habitacle, ménagée dans l'une desdites parois latérales de carrosserie.
Ce véhicule est encore équipé de moyens d'accès à l'habitacle pour les usagers en fauteuil roulant, comportant - un second passage latéral, ménagé dans l'une des parois latérales et équipé d'une porte dédiée, et - une plateforme élévatrice apte à recevoir ledit fauteuil roulant, laquelle plateforme est associée audit châssis par le biais de moyens pour sa manoeuvre au niveau dudit second passage latéral.
La plateforme élévatrice se situe dans l'habitacle du véhicule, et les moyens de manoeuvre assurent son déplacement vertical, sur la hauteur et en regard du second passage latéral dédié, entre deux positions de fin de course, à savoir :

  • une position haute, dans laquelle ladite plateforme élévatrice s'étend dans le plan général du plancher d'habitacle de sorte à obturer une ouverture complémentaire ménagée dans ce plancher, ladite plateforme constituant alors une partie intégrante dudit plancher d'habitacle, et
  • une position basse, dans laquelle cette plateforme se situe sous le plan général dudit plancher d'habitacle et au niveau de la bordure inférieure dudit second passage latéral, de sorte à autoriser l'accès à ladite plateforme élévatrice par l'usager en fauteuil roulant, au travers dudit second passage latéral, éventuellement au moyen d'une rampe extérieure d'accès.
L'habitacle de ce véhicule est encore équipé de deux éléments transversaux de cloisonnement qui s'étendent à partir de la paroi latérale de carrosserie attenante à la plateforme élévatrice et qui sont implantés de part et d'autre de l'ouverture ménagée dans le plancher d'habitacle. L'un au moins de ces éléments de cloisonnement est équipé, au niveau de sa bordure verticale à l'opposé de la paroi latérale de carrosserie attenante, d'au moins un organe amovible apte à former barrière entre lesdits éléments de cloisonnement, en particulier pour empêcher ou au moins limiter l'accès à l'ouverture de plancher d'habitacle lorsque la plateforme élévatrice associée est manoeuvrée en position basse. The passenger compartment of this vehicle is further equipped with two transverse partitioning elements which extend from the side wall of the bodywork adjoining the lifting platform and which are located on either side of the opening in the floor. cockpit. Si les moyens de manoeuvre de la plateforme ne fonctionnent pas, le véhicule ne court pas les risques d'immobilisation rencontrés avec les plateformes à déploiement extérieur.
D'autre part, le passager en fauteuil roulant est en sécurité à l'intérieur du véhicule, lors de sa montée et de sa descente. II est de plus transféré sans être amené en situation désagréable et stressante en hauteur à l'extérieur du véhicule.
La rapidité de mise en place de l'usager est en outre améliorée, la plateforme n'effectuant pas de mouvement intérieur/extérieur.

Véhicule terrestre pour le transport en commun de voyageurs, par exemple du genre autocar ou autobus, lequel véhicule comprend un châssis (C) portant un habitacle (H) délimité - par une carrosserie (6) comportant un toit et une ceinture de parois latérales (6a), et - par un plancher (7) en hauteur par rapport au sol, ledit plancher d'habitacle (7) étant associé à au moins une structure d'escalier (8) implantée en regard d'une porte (10) équipant un premier passage latéral (9) d'accès audit habitacle (H), ménagée dans l'une desdites parois latérales de carrosserie (6a), lequel véhicule est équipé de moyens (15) d'accès à l'habitacle (H) pour un usager en fauteuil roulant, comportant - un second passage latéral (16) d'accès à l'habitacle (H), ménagé dans l'une desdites parois latérales (6a) et équipé d'une porte (17) dédiée, et - une plateforme élévatrice (18) apte à recevoir ledit fauteuil roulant, associée audit châssis (C) par le biais de moyens (21) pour sa manoeuvre au niveau dudit second passage latéral (16),
