Description

The invention relates to a therapy device for horses, consisting of a treadmill in a water tank.

Such a device is known. The water tank comprises a bottom, two longitudinal walls and two end walls, of which at least one can be opened or closed to lead in and out of the horse. Depending on the health or training condition of the horse, the water tank is flooded differently. For example, the water level can reach half the height of the horse's body. During or after flooding, the treadmill is set in motion. Often the horses mum during this movement therapy. In order to avoid contamination of the horse and the water, and especially the water flow, it has been attempted to catch the horse manure in a fixed to the horse body, consisting of a water-impermeable plastic fabric manure bag, but with very limited success, because not inconsiderable weight of the horse manure This leads to the fact that on the one hand the upper opening of the manure bag collapses and on the other hand the manure bag gradually slips downwards due to its weight on the moving horse. Part of the horse manure, especially with repeated manure, therefore still falls directly into the water in the tank. In addition, when the water level is high, water enters directly into the manure bag so that it slides even further down under the additional weight. In one case, as in the other case, the goal is missed, to prevent horse manure enters the water, clogged the drain when emptying the water tank, but at least consuming to filter out.

The invention has the object to improve a therapy device referred to in the preamble of claim 1 way to the effect that usually no horse manure can get into the water.

This object is achieved by a therapy device for additional suspension of the horse body with the features of claim 1.

This prevents horse manure from getting into the water. The water in the tank can therefore be used several times and this be done via an external collection container in the circuit.

Preferably, the proposed device consists of an L-shaped cantilever arm with a lower end attached to the water tank and an upper free end which has fastening means for suspending the horse manure bag at least approximately centrally above the treadmill. On the attachment means, e.g. a loop, then, e.g. by means of karabiners, the upper ends are hung by knitting, the lower ends of which are spaced apart, e.g. are connected to opposite eyelets on the upper edge of the manure bag. This prevents slippage of the manure bag under the weight of the manure. Proper attachment of the cords also prevents the upper opening of the manure bag from collapsing.

The cantilever arm can be mounted pivotably about a vertical axis on the water tank. Instead, the cantilever arm can be mounted on a carriage-like rolling device which can be moved up to the water tank.

The lower end of the cantilever can be attached to any position of the water tank, preferably on one of Longitudinal walls in that area, at the height of which is the tail of the horse when using the therapy device.

The lower end of the cantilever is suitably connected via a pivot bearing with the water tank. The pivot bearing makes it possible, on the one hand wegzuschwenken the cantilever for getting in and out of the horse and on the other hand, and above all allows that the free end of the cantilever during therapy or training of the horse follows its movements, because the horse has in the water tank or on the treadmill movement in the longitudinal direction, which may be up to about one meter depending on the size of the horse and length of the treadmill.

The lower, substantially vertical leg of the L-shaped cantilever is so long that the upper, substantially horizontal leg is sufficiently high, e.g. 50 cm to 80 cm, located above a normal sized horse. As a result, it is also ensured that the connecting cords between the fastening means at the free end of the cantilever and the upper edge of the manure bag are sufficiently long to follow the manure bag moving in the longitudinal direction together with the horse.

In the drawing, a therapy device according to the invention is shown.

The therapy device comprises a treadmill 1 in a water tank, of which only the longitudinal walls 2 and 3 are shown. The longitudinal walls 2 and 3 are connected to each other via a floor and form with not shown end walls and also not shown connections for flooding and emptying the water tank. The longitudinal wall 2 is preceded by a stage 4, which facilitates the personnel observing an indicated horse 5.

The horse 5 is guided via a ramp 6 at first folded down rear locking rod 7 on the treadmill 1. Subsequently, the rear end wall, not shown, which is connected via hinges 3a with the rear longitudinal wall 3, pivoted closed and sealed with the front longitudinal wall 2 via the illustrated lever locks 2a. The front end wall, which is likewise not shown, is connected in a corresponding manner to the longitudinal walls 2 and 3 in a pivotable and lockable manner.

On the horse 5, a manure bag 10 is attached via straps such as 10a, 10b, 10c. The manure bag 10 has at its upper edge eyelets like 10d, to which cords 11 are attached, which extend upwards and z. Carabiners, by means of which they may be incorporated into one or more of e.g. three eyelets 12 are mounted at the free end of an L-shaped cantilever 13. The lower, substantially vertical leg of the cantilever 13 is connected via a pivot bearing 14 with the upper longitudinal beam 2b of the front longitudinal wall 2. The lower leg of the cantilever arm 13 may extend to a second, e.g. be extended to the lower longitudinal spar of the front longitudinal wall 2 mounted pivot bearing (not shown).

The cantilever arm 13 thus serves to suspend the horse manure bag 10, thereby relieving its fastening straps 10a, 10b, 10c and thereby preventing the manure bag from slipping under the weight of the horse manure. The pivot bearing 14 makes it possible to pivot away the cantilever 13 for the introduction and removal of the horse 5. In addition, the pivot bearing 14 makes it possible for the free end of the cantilever arm 13 to follow the movements of the horse in the longitudinal direction of the treadmill and thus the movements of the manure bag 10.
