Durch die unterschiedlichen Höhenlagen der Stützelemente 53 und 54 wird das Siebband 1 bei seiner Bewegung über die Stützelemente 53 und 54 wellenförmig bewegt, wodurch es Zugbelastungen unterworfen wird. Durch die wellenlinienförmigen Berandungen 52b wird das Siebband 1 weiters bei seiner Bewegung über den Tragrahmen 52 mit in dessen Ebene quer zur Bewegungsrichtung A wirkenden Zugbelastungen unterworfen. Durch beide diese Zugbelastungen wird bewirkt, dass die im Siebband 1 befindlichen Verunreinigungen und Flüssigkeiten aus diesem leichter entfernbar sind, sodass das Abfließen von Flüssigkeit aus dem Papierbrei erleichtert wird. Hierdurch wird zudem die Wirkung der auf das Siebband 1 ausgeübten Saugkräfte maßgeblich verbessert.
